    added weight

i noticed that the stock on my remington sps was hollow, i decided to see how it would feel with some wheel weights in it.....and i really really like it! i added 16 ounces, yep, 16 ounces! it makes the gun balance really really well. i know that adding a full pound to a gun makes a big difference when you carry it through the woods but i am going to try it. i liked it so much on my 243 i also did the same thing to my 30 06, but i only had to add 15 ounces to get it to where it balanced. has anyone else done this before? likes, dislikes if you have done it? i prefer a heavier gun as it helps with felt recoil, and i am able to steady the gun for better aim.
  4. i have one and really enjoy it but a 22 will kill the skunk just the same.
  5. hopefully going to shoot it next saturday. i just picked up some hornady 58gr vmax moly along with leupold rings and bases. isn't it funny how you can have just as much in a scope and rings as you do in just the gun? lol
  6. looks alot like this one but mine has the newer stock with the grips cut out and a dfferent texture on the grips as well as a floor plate. i copied that pic from gunbroker
  7. i was waiting for someone to say that! lol i don't have a way to get pics on here, the camera cable got lost in the move....
  8. the wife was away at a retreat all weekend, so, my 2 boys(2.5 and 10 months) and i went to academy saturday morning and saw the same remington 700 sps 243 sitting on the shelf that was still on clearance. i wound up getting the remington for 370 bucks. not bad at all for new rifle. i plan on using it for yotes and loading it with 58gr vmax for yotes and 100gr for deer if i need a different gun for deer! anyways, thought i would share my new toy! oh, it is getting a leupold 3-9 scope!

    50 beuwolf

i hunt in indiana and have limits to what length and size cartridge in a rifle. i hunt in a huge field and want the farthest most accurate gun i can get with handgun ammo.

    50 beuwolf

how does it do out to 200 plus yards? i have no problem hitting the 6inch steal disk at 200 yards with my 44mag.

    50 beuwolf

the 458 SOCOM is also on the list, which is better for longer shots?

    50 beuwolf

does anybody have an ar15 that they have made a 50 beuwolf? i'm always looking for a pistol round that works great in a rifle to hunt with in indiana. since i already have an ar-15 i was thinking i could buy an upper and have a new deer rifle in 50 beuwolf instead of my 44mag rifle. how does it do long range, i mean 200 yards or less, maybe more.
  13. what color do you guys think i should get? the red of the green? which would be better in the sun light outside? i have no experience in these sights.
  14. wow me likes!!! i'm going to get that one, thanks for the info!! you da bomb
  15. it is a SS model. i guess i should just call truglo
  16. i have a super blackhawk in 44mag and i was thinking about putting truglo sights on it. do they even make them for a super blachhawk? any other good sights out there that work good?
  17. gotta say, i'm not quite sure who my guide will be, i'm almost positive it will be quite laid back as it will be more a hunt for food for them(probably, they may try to get something for a trophy since i am there). trust me, i don't plan on getting pricked by anything!

    ar pistol

that's why they call it a pistol and not a SBR. i am planning on putting some sort of soft sock or rubber something on the buffer housing

    ar pistol

well, i am going to the gun show saturday and i am planning on buying a stripped pistol lower so i can build one. my friend has one with the 11.5 inch barrel and said it is a hoot! has anybody had any bad stories about the short barreled ARs or the pistol ARs before i sink some money in one? what is a good length to go with, shorter, longer? thanks!
  20. i was looking in the good old cabinet and i found something that will be better than what i was thinking of to PIF. i have a GI issue ar-15 cleaning kit. i haven't used it or really gone through it but it has cleaning patches, pipe cleaners, a cleaning rod and brush, GI case, and probably other stuf that is hidden, hope this isnt where i had my money stash that i lost! lol jk first PM gets it
  21. for those of you keeping track of who got and who is still to post something....i know what i am going to PIF, i just have to wait till i get my new stuff before i post it up! will post as soon as i can
  22. really, like what kind of options?
  23. i have shot lots and lots of ammo through glocks and i have never ever had a problem with limp wristing. they were all very easy to fix....
