  4. it is always fun to shoot an accurate rifle
  5. i had the same issue with power belts last year. i switched to thompsons 250gr bonded sabots this year, hopefully i will find out this year how they do over the pwoerbelts.
  6. now that looks like a nice stock! what is the price tag?
  7. just wondering what rifle/powder/bullets/primer and technique you have found to be the best for your rifle? i'm in the middle of changing my powder and bullets and loading techniques for my encore pro hunter 50x209 and figured i would ask what others on here have found to work for them.
  8. i was up in indiana this last week, my 4 year old and i went yote hunting. much to my surprise(we were set up right behind the barn by the house), i called one in to 15 yards of us. my 4 year old just covered his ears and didn't make a noise, i was very proud of him, it was a great moment for both of us. funny thing is, he woke me up that morning and said "let's hunt cowtotes, daddy" pictures to follow if i can get it to work

    FN FAL help

Long story short, a friend and i bought a FN FAL and a big box of parts for a great price. there is one complete gun and 2 complete lowers. there is 1 complete upper minues the receiver and also a brand new barrel. there were lots of other parts in there as well. my question is this, how much work or how expensive would it be to finish building the upper to put on one of the lowers? i have built a bunch of ar15s but i have never messed with any of these types weapons. thanks for any help or advice. oh, the upper has half of the receiver, it was cut through the mag well to be imported to America, i guess it used to be full auto.

    "Big Game" Guns

you can find a ruger #1 in 458 win mag for 700-800. thats a good elephant gun! just be fast for the 2nd shot! lol
  14. xdshooter, it is all yours!
  15. i was given a bunch of shotgun reloading stuff. i will pretty much get rid of everything but the presses, might get rid of one of them. if you reload shotgunshells, come take a look. there are powders, wads, and all shorts of other stuff. must be picked up at my shop in madison, i'm not going to spend $50 to ship this stuff. lol
  16. i bet the tab is broke, it still puts a lot of pressure on the other piece, the sear maybe? i'm probably just gonna wind up selling it, i doubt i will ever shoot it, but i want to fix it first
  17. i have all of the parts in the picture above, but there isn't anything i can see that puts pressure on the trigger to keep it tight. my problem is when you open the bolt and pull it back, it will slide right out unless you hold the trigger forward.
  18. well, i can't even find a spring that is on the trigger. there is a main spring that puts pressure on the piece that holds the firing pin back and than the trigger is just flopping around. i dunno, i may need to take apart a working mosin, anybody live in hendersonville? lol
  19. i just bought a mosin nagant, and the trigger is very loose. i took it apart, and the trigger spring is missing. i was wondering if anyone had a mosin that is a parts gun? this is the spring that is coiled and not the spring that is a straight piece of metal. PM me if you have something! thanks
  20. sounds awesome! you have to love a nice old winchester, sounds like it would fit right in my cabinet!
  21. i can't even begin to imagine shooting a 458 win mag revolver!
  22. well, i have been waiting for some nice weather to get out and shoot my new 22-250. it is a remington 700 heavy barrel with a h s precision stock. gun weighs in at 8.5 lbs, that is 2lbs heavier than a sporter weight. i didn't get to shoot any reloads, just a cheap box of remington 55gr ammo. i only had a few minutes(i went to my friends house right before dark)to sight it in, once sighted in, i was very happy with it. i put 2 shots hole through hole and another shot i dotted an "I" on the sign. i wish i had more time and more room to shoot but i was happy to get what i did! oh, the target was only 80 yards away but i'm pretty sure my new rifle will be a great shooter!
  23. glockster157 is an excellent teacher and knows his stuff! he helps me out all the time
  24. i did buy some h380, now i just need it to warm up, so i can go in garage and load some. cant wait to shoot this thing!!! i am going to try h380 and 4064 and see which is best. i need a chrono!
  25. i just bought a remington 700 vs in 22-250. i was trying to figure out how old it is, the code on barrel is E, by the table i found that says it is made in 2010, however, i thought these guns were made from 1992-2004. any help or info would be awesome. i tried to call the factory but was on hold for over 10 minutes and had to get off the phone.
