    Really, to me, depends on the firearm and person carrying it. 1911s are designed to be carried cocked and locked. I believe newer design 1911s can be carried at the half cocked position. I like locked and cocked.

    I have reloaded 9mm, 40 S&W and 10mm in modern Glocks and never had a problem with the brass unless I reloaded to +P+ type loads in 40 S&W and 10mm.

    Too much trouble for me to separate out, I just toss them. As said I think most SP 45 ACP is the clean burn type for indoor range use.
