I have handled a Gen 4 G22 and reaally like the grip with small backstrap. The recoil assembly is like the sub-compact models and may be better than the single recoil spring. The mag release also is much larger and seems to be much better for quick mag changes. You can switch the mag release from left to right with no mods but must have the new ambi mags for this to work. The old mags work with the release on the left. Overall I thinking hard about one. For military (active/retired) and LEO's Tennessee Gun Country here in Clarksville has a discount program.

I would say the G19 would be a better choice.

If you stay with regular or +P/NATO ammo you will be good. +P+ is not really a standard except it is over the SAMMI standard of +P in pressure. Remember +P and +P+ only means more pressure. NATO is also higher in pressure than standard pressure ammo. It is a good idea to stay away from sub-gun ammo in a handgun.

Grip texture, larger mag release button that can be changed to the right side with no frame mods, straight grip area on slide for pulling the slide back (no fish gills), changeable back straps (the small felt very good). I believe there are some internal changes besides the dual spring recoil assembly. I do not know how it functions or shoots but it is very temptiing.
