If you want a new firearm for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years check out https://www.RKGuns.com They are having a sale on some of their firearms. There is one in Clarksville, Tn.

  8. It is a comparison between apples and oranges, just depends on what you want. Either one would be fine for SD/HD in my opinion.
  9. The Glock 48 is thinner and not as tall/long. I have Concealment Express IWB Kydex holsters for both and the Glock 48 carries so much easier and comfortably. I carry a extra mag for the EDC I have on. So that is 21 rounds for the Glock 48 and 35 rounds for the Ruger SR9. Depends on what you want, less rounds but thinner/lighter or more rounds thicker/heavier. Still the Ruger SR9 is thinner than a regular Glock pistol. Both seem accurate to me but that is subjective. Both also seem to be well made. I get the Glocks for $380 before taxes/TICS (military program) so pricing is not that far off between them.
  10. Just picked up one. Nice pistol. Comes with regular 3-dot sights (rear is height adjustable), two 17 round magazines. Mags are made in Italy and look like Mec-Gar with anti friction coating. Pistol has a external safety (ambi) and magazine disconnect. The loaded chamber indicator is on top of the slide and sticks up quite a bit with a round chambered. None of this really bothers me and the mag disconnect is easy to remove if so desired. Pistol has good accuracy and is easy to shoot well. Grip is thinner than a lot of similar pistols. Full take down requires punches/hammer so not as easy as some others. Field strip does not require a trigger pull but you must push the ejector down to remove the slide, and either pull it up or insert a mag to raise the ejector back into operational position when reassembled. Overall a decent pistol and after 600 rounds there has been no pistol related problems This pistol is as accurate or a little more so than my Glock 48, which I like a lot and carry. May put the Ruger SR9 into carry rotation.

  12. I liked reading Nash Buckingham's books when younger, especially on a cold winters night. A insight into another time.

    TAURUS G3

I have seen where there is a company making a optics mount that goes into where the rear sight sets. Also there are a few companies making night and fiber optic sights for the G3. I believe the G2/G3 sights are the same. I have put some more rounds thru the G-3, had one fail to feed from the 17 round mag. The 15 rounder failed 3 times to lock the slide back, I cleaned the mag and had no more problems. So far I do not think I would carry as a self defense pistol yet. I am getting better with accuracy and find it shoots a little better than at first, may be me.

The rear sight is off putting to me. Why they did not go with Glock type sights is strange since the rear sight cut is different from any I have seen. Frame seems very rough and accuracy is average. Just my opinion.
  20. Same number of rounds but a larger number of magazines made. Sorry for not being clear.
  21. They say the next batch (after pre-order) will be much larger.
  22. I like them. I use Gallant bullets for 9mm, 125gr round nose, black coating. They go for $70 shipped for 1,000. Always been good for me.
  23. Big old Copperhead. I have had them chase me this time of year when out bank fishing. Never seen one that big most were 2 to 2 1/2 feet long.
  24. Let a liberal see you shoot that and be RED FLAGGED immediately!
