  1. Thanks. I had already heard of him over on arfcom, just thought there might be someone here in town. I checked out his website and will give him a call.
  2. I'm wanting to get a suppressor and would like to set up an NFA trust in order to give my wife and family some legal protection and also make it easier to pass it on in the event of my demise. Anybody know of a good attorney in the Jackson, TN area with NFA trust experience?
  3. I woke up early this morning unable to get back to sleep, so I poured a cup of coffee and stepped outside for a smoke. As I walked out toward the garden, I heard something rushing toward me in the dark. Three deer came around the corner of the garage and piled up to a stop about 10 feet from me. We all stood there frozen for a few seconds and then they bolted out across the garden blowing and snorting. That's when I realized I was crouched in a two hand stance with my G27. I don't remember drawing or making the decision whether or not to shoot. I picked up my spilled coffee cup, finished my smoke and went back in to check my drawers and pour another cup.
  4. Are you saying you think The Obamination will try to take away our second amandment rights? He has promised us he only wants to take the evil guns off the streets. After all, it's for the children.
  5. I'm leaving this morning, be back Sunday evening.
  6. Anybody else here going to Knob Creek this weekend? Been going for a few years now. Neat to see all the different weapons and the mini-guns are a real blast. I usually come home dead broke with a truckload of ammo and parts. Last fall I had to break one of my cardinal rules and use the CC to put fuel in the truck on the way home. I'm taking MrsMeister and the Meisterlettes with me this time. Got a motel with heated indoor pool 'cause I'm betting it will take less than an hour for them to get their fill of the show.
  7. It's working for me now and I'm able to post new threads. Thanks. I did notice that Russian AK listed in the classifieds is no longer available for viewing since it's apparently sold. I never even got to see the listing. I'm not in the market for one, but I like looking at the pics and keeping up with what things sell for, even if it's something I'm not particularly interested in. Anyway it can be fixed where someone can still view the listing after the sale?
  8. I've been a member here for a few months, but don't post much. Two days ago, as per the rules in effect at the time, I made a contribution as a benefactor so I could list a pickup truck and a couple guns for sale. This evening I find my two-day-old ad has been moved to the archives and I am not allowed to start a thread to list the guns. Would it not be fair if there were a "grandfather clause" for those like me who followed the rules that were in effect before the change?

    Milled AK's

    No rivets.
  10. She got a good looking sister?
  11. Centerfire has AR carry handles for $40. http://www.centerfiresystems.com/MNTAR102.aspx The new polymer coated Wolf is great ammo, I shoot it in my AR15s all the time with no problems. However I suggest not using the lacquer coated in an AR. The lacquer can build up in the chamber and result in stuck case. I know several who have learned this the hard way. I run the lacquer coated through my .223 AKs. The looser tolerances ofthe AK lets it digest it without any problems.
  12. Last year I bought an "old Russian rifle" for $70 out the door at a pawn shop in middle TN. It's a Finnish M91 with Austrian capture markings.
  13. Get you a can of Bulgarian yellow-tip heavy ball surplus. It will rock your world in that little carbine. The muzzleblast and fireball will make the AR guys at the range stare in dis-belief and then just hang their heads in shame.
  14. Actually very few I haven't shot. Lot of Mossberg .22s, Milsurps from all over the spectrum including .22 trainers, Mosins, Enfields, straight pulls, and of course many many Mausers. I've never shot the same rifle twice at my club's high-power matches.
  15. Yes, they're all mine. That's looking into my vault at the larger part of my collection. It was cheaper to build a secure vault than keep buying safes. Two cameras -- one inside, one outside, both on continuous loop recorder, monitored alarm system, two easily triggered canisters of teargas and pepperspray. Off the top of my head, calibers I have are 8x57, 8x56r, 7.62x51, 7.62x54r, .303, 7.5x55, 6.5x55, 7.65x53, 9x19, 9x18, 9x23, 9 Largo, 7.62x39, 7x57, .45acp, , .380acp, 7.62 Nagant, .32acp, .32 S&W long, .30-06, .243 Win, .257 Roberts, 7.62x25, .40 S&W, .223, 5.45x39, .270 Win, .17hmr, .17 mach 2, .22 mag, and of course .22 short, long, longrifle. I'm sure I missed a few. I reload most of the centerfire rifle calibers.
  16. Found it. They reccomend you serialize it, but it is not required. I was apparently mistaken about beaing able to transfer it. They also reference how it must be marked if it is ever transfered, but you will have to assume any and all legal liability for it. Not worth it in the long run. I've know many people to strip down rifles they built and sell the "parts kit" but not the receiver. http://www.atf.gov/firearms/building_a_firearm.pdf
  17. I will look through my parts this weekend. I may have an m44 rear sight. It will be Russian or Chinese, but they will all interchange. Do you also need the spring and pin?
  18. Here's a few of mine...
  19. I'm not trying to be an arsehole, but you are getting some incorrect information is some of the above posts. I have several builds under my belt. ALL PERFECTLY LEGAL. The ATF form 1 is for manufacture of NFA items... machine guns, SBR's, suppressors, AOW's. Unless you have an 07 ffl with SOT and letter of intent from a law enforcement agency, you cannot manufacture a full auto. It is out of the question. Do not even entertain the thought. You WILL get an all expense paid 10 year trip to Club-Fed, showering with big, mean, hairy, horny men. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUILDING A FULL-AUTO! You WILL only build a semi-auto, bolt-action, or single-shot. You do NOT have to submit anything to the ATF. You do NOT have to serialize it. It is for your own personal use only. You can NEVER sell, trade, or give it to anyone else. I used to have a link to the ATF regs concerning home-building by an un licensed person, but I can't find it now. The atf website is nearly impossible to navigate and actually find what you are looking for. I will post the link when I find it.
  20. The machine shop owner would need a type 07 manufacturer ffl to build the receiver for you, whether you pay him or not. You, as an unlicensed individual, may legally build one receiver per year for your personal use, whether building from scratch or completing an "80%" blank. However, you may not sell it, ever. As for someone "helping" you with it, you're really getting into a "grey" area of the law. As long as they just give instructions and advice, all is kosher. If they give hands-on help, it's up to "interpretation" by the bATFE whether they must be licensed or not. Information can be found on the bATFE website, as well as a few other sights dedicated to home building. Clear as mud, right?
  21. 6/27/2028 Private party ammo sales are illegal. You must first go to your local chief LEO and get a written sworn and notarized statement that you have an acceptable legitimate reason to purchase ammo. Hunting, target shooting, self defense are NOT acceptable legitimate reasons. Next you go to your local bATF&E office to have the ammo transferred. The serial numbers of each and every projectile must be recorder long-hand in triplicate before entering into the computerized database. Only after both parties pass the background check and cavity search may the ammo be transferred. If either party fails the background check, both are arrested and immediately imprisoned for ten years without a trial and with no possibility of parole. Once the transfer has been approved, you must store the ammo locked in a fire-proof case, buried under the concrete slab of your garage.
  22. If you think just owning them is addictive, then don't ever build one. I've got, um, heck, I don't know how many AKs I got. More than one, less than fifty. Got a few kits put back for a rainy day also. 47's, 74's, even got a .223 ak and parts to assemble another. I don't know why I like them so. I'm usually into bolt guns putting one round on target at 500+ yards. I've owned a few AKs over the years, but always sold or traded them 'cause they just didn't do it for me. Then I got a parts kit and built my first one just to see if I could. It's been all down hill from there, and a slippery slope at that.
  23. Hey y'all. Another fng here. I joined a few weeks ago, just mostly lurked not posting. I'm from Jackson, friend of Crunchman who told me about this site. I do a little collecting, building, loading, shooting when not working. Really enjoy the site.
