Anti-gun protest at Starbucks on Valentine's Day
raydog1 replied to LagerHead's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Funny Valentine's Day BUYcott story: http://www.itstactical.com/centcom/its-information/starbucks-appreciation-day-aar-the-buycott-and-counterfeit-2-bills/ T-minus 1 hour 25 minutes before I buy enough poundcake for the office. -
And had he: 1. Passed a more stringent permit exam 2. Decided to show off his gun in a packed Walmart parking lot instead of a church 3. Defeated the magazine safety by inserting an empty magazine (5 round mag just for you) and. . . 4. STILL forgot a round was chambered and pulled the trigger would your response be "Oh well, he met all my critieria and this is an isolated incident." or "We need another law." How do you think the Brady Campaign would respond?

This is a GREAT conversation to have with a rebellious teen. Every word was spot on. Except for the shooting part. I really really wish he had either left that out or just made this vid for the kid's eyes only. Posting this on Facebook is probably going to make HIS life much harder.

New hit piece courtesy of MSNBC
raydog1 replied to E4 No More's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Nailed on Wikipedia. Wasn't me, I swear! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Rossen "In 2012, Rossen was named National Investigative Correspondent. He will lead a new investigative unit titled "Rossen Reports." According to an NBC News press release, Rossen's investigations will appear on all platforms, including TODAY, NBC Nightly News, and Dateline.[citation needed]. Rossen will provide information that isn't substantiated and tends to lean towards violating constitutional rights. He is supported and funded by Michael Bloomberg and writes articles aimed at supporting the anti-gun community in collaboration with the Brady Campaign. His articles provide no factual data, and consists mainly of unsubstantiated quotes from the coffers of the Brady Campaign." -
Love the comments! They don't seem to appreciate Mumbles'. . . I mean Menino's speaking style. Here's the ad: In it, they say they support the Second Amendment. I feel so much better now. In a telephone interview with The New York Times, Menino said the commercial was partly aimed at lawmakers in Washington. "It's a fun way to get a very serious message across to the decision makers," he said, adding, "If you want to hunt or you need a gun for protection of your business, O.K., but there's too many loopholes." Wow, I guess protection of yourself and/or family is not OK.

Mine was picky. I called them about it and was told by one of their techs that they tested them with 124 gr Black Hills ammo & to use that. So, I stuck to 124 & 147 gr ammo of varying brands. After that, never had a problem.

Stones River Hunter Education Center?
raydog1 replied to EastHipster's topic in Training Discussions
Just saying I like the rifle range at CHMR for a little more freedom (mainly target choice) when I want to shoot a rifle. I think the pistol range at Stones River is just fine for weekly shooting. -
Stones River Hunter Education Center?
raydog1 replied to EastHipster's topic in Training Discussions
Went there for the 1st time Sat. Strict but everyone was very polite and explained everything clearly. I'm only 15 minutes away so i'll be there often from here on. When I want more freedom and a hundred yard range, i'll continue going to CHMR. I just hate that drive. -
I was a teenager at home alone talking to an old friend on the phone. That broke a major rule about not being on the phone while parental units were away. My mother had been trying to reach me for hours but only got a busy signal. She stormed through the door and yelled, "What were you doing on the phone?" I knew I was toast. Easily a 1-2 week grounding offense. I had no excuse, just patiently waiting for the judge's ruling. Suddenly, the look on her face softened. She knew I was clueless because the tv was off. She also knew I had space shuttle models and posters, visited Huntsville every year, and watched every launch. And, like every child of the 80's, I wanted to be an astronaut. She just said, "Turn on the tv." I didn't get grounded that day. After seeing that explosion a hundred times, I wouldn't have cared.

+1 There is no financial reaon for this. There's a series called Hot Shots ( Hot Shots - Home of the best shooters on Earth. ) about top-level competitive/exhibition shooting sponsored by CheaperThanDirt, Mossberg, and the NRA on . . . NBC Sports Network. Yep, under the same umbrella as MSNBC, home of the most hardcore of gun haters. This tells me that someone at Fox just doesn't like guns. The UFC wouldn't lose any veiwers even if R. Lee Ermy, dressed head-to-toe in Glock branded clothing, kicked Joe Rogan in the sack right in the middle of the octagon. Not. A. Single. Viewer.

Spot on. Have bought several guns from the Cool Springs location. I also believe they have some sort of of buyers vs browsers radar. Whenever I've gone there to browse, I'm usually ignored. But if I'm on a mission to buy something, I've been promptly assisted. How do they know?

Anti-gun protest at Starbucks on Valentine's Day
raydog1 replied to LagerHead's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
To us, just seeing someone lawfully carrying a gun into Starbucks isn't a "bad" thing. To those who oppose us, it's a "bad" thing. Bad enough for them to write letters about how scary we are to them and their children. If Starbucks gets enough mail like that and it coincides with a significant sales dip, then they will change their stance on this. Don't let their lofty response about "following the laws" fool you. Other chains would quickly follow their lead. Yes, Starbucks is that big. And there will be nothing we can do to stop it. Just imagine a different scenario: a day of sales growth without any complaints about us. If I were Starbucks, a day like that would make me feel pretty good about allowing lawful gun carriers in my stores no matter what these Brady Bunch wannabees say. 2 grand won't even get him a seat at the table compared to the rifle/optics combinations on that dvd.

Anti-gun protest at Starbucks on Valentine's Day

Thanks for the post. I drive by them everyday, but only went in once when I won a giftcard. Not a coffee fan but like the cake. Looks like someone will get some fresh lemon pound cake for Valentine's day this year. -

In this one, he points the gun at his face to show off the "Punisher" upgrades on his new 10mm "Zombie Killer" and addresses all the "haters." All the fun happens early on. No need to watch the whole thing. Bonus points if you do. -
Federal Government Pushing Shooters/Hunters Off Public Lands
raydog1 replied to D3vo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Good strategy. Plant these little gun control seeds while the GOP contenders are busy bickering with each other. Go full bore with the national long gun registry when re-elected. And most won't care because there will be no place left to shoot. Used ARs will flood the market. "Freaked out" urbanites will rejoice. They're not even hiding behind the old "public safety" argument any longer. Guns are icky and that's enough reason for them to restrict their use. They admit that Heller says you can own guns, but it ends there. They want your gun to be a worthless paperweight. -
Sig P250 protruding guide rod and frozen slide...need help.
raydog1 replied to a topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I had a minor issue with my old P250 and their customer service was excellent. Fixed the problem and it was back in my hands the following week. Let them fix it for ya. -

That's correct. As long as they aren't fully decomposed. Depends on external conditions. A year or more if cold and dry. If frozen, perhaps forever. If you can make it to the Bahamas, you could probably hold out until they all decompose without firing a shot. Sent from my HTC Incredible using Tapatalk Pro

A suicidal person reasoning why they should have their gun is not a person I would trust under those circumstances. Unless they planned on walking the opposite direction I was traveling. They'd have to be VERY convincing. And much hotter than her.
-
I think she certainly made a good point. The old guy should've just let her die at the CDC with the other suicidal folk. There is no point in forcing a suicidal person (who just watched her sister die a horrible death) to continue to travel with you through a living hell where one wrong move means you all die. But that's why this is good tv.
-
The old dude was worried that she might still be suicidal. Remember what happened at the CDC. And don't forget, gunfire draws zombies...even if that BANG is you putting one in your own skull. I say keep that chick as far away from guns and/or me as possible. And that ending! Wow, I honestly didn't see that coming. Can't wait for Ep. 2.

And this is the "good" we should try to take away from this. To all the people who are against any pro-gun legistlation: alcohol + gun possession = severe legal consequences. Just like DUI. Even for the guy who helped push the legislation. No exceptions. No mercy. If he gets off, then we'll all pay for that.
