  1. No you didn't go there?
  2. A. I don't trust safeties and sometimes, guests are in the house. I don't care about the click-clack though. The blaring entry alarm should drown that out anyway and hopefully convince BG to make a hasty retreat. If alarm is off, then handgun is on the hip or within reach.
  3. You guys are probably right. Definitely seems strange that weapons were never mentioned once. A mystery for sure.
  4. Now that's what I'm talking about. You'll fit in perfectly. I'm like Dr. Phil with a Glock.
  5. The solution in 3 easy steps: 1. Covert to "radical" Islam. 2. Buy her a burqa. 3. Have her bring you a beer. (Islamic rules are for her, not you.)
  6. I've watched the 1st set, the second is sitting on my DVD shelf. Just haven't had time to watch it yet. I think it's humanly impossible to watch these DVDs and not want take their classes. BUST 'EM!!!
  7. Just out of curiosity, I checked their website to see the requirements for taking the aerial class. They said you gotta bring your own 'copter. So I'm out unless someone could lend me theirs for a weekend. Oh yeah and a pilot too please.
  8. So what did they not like about the Smyrna location? It was nice having a regular gun show practically down the street from me.
  9. Agreed. Thirtysomething year old Force Recon Soldier. No problem. Fortysomething year old couch potato. . . eh prolly not.
  10. A friend of mine suggested the show after we discussed survivalist theories and that was my main complaint about the show to her. He scavenges a building for steel wool, but doesn't even think about checking out the gun shop (probably right next door) for a shotgun or three??? Clearing buildings armed only with a flashlight? The Force is obviously stronger with him than with me. However, the History Channel's core demographic may not be greatly populated with gun owners. So maybe it was a network decision to leave out firearms.
  11. Did anyone see Apocolypse Man on History Channel last weekend? He actually suggests going to the city center, but being very careful and selective about what you look for there. Apocalypse Man
  12. Gotta love the way Piazza ends every blog, email, press release, etc. With the ever-present "patriotic" sales pitch : "Front Sight is here to help you and every responsible American place fear in the hearts of those in the UN who want to steal your freedom. Here is your ticket. Purchase it and get on board… A 30 State Concealed Weapons Permit, the world class training that Front Sight provides, and a Springfield Armory XD Pistol awaits you. We stand ready, willing, and able to arm and train you at https://www.frontsight.com/free-gun.asp"
  13. Good link! And from that article the NRA breaks it down: NRA-ILA :: INTERPOL Rumors "Some have also suggested that under the order, INTERPOL agents would receive diplomatic immunity, so they could violate Americans' rights without fear of criminal prosecution. There are several misconceptions here. First, diplomatic immunity only protects diplomats, and the IOIA specifically says it does not confer diplomatic immunity on international organization employees. Second, while the IOIA does provide a limited type of immunity for international organization employees, this is only immunity "relating to acts performed by them in their official capacity." U.S. courts have interpreted this narrowly. In one case, a court found that a U.N. employee was not immune to a local speeding ticket even though he was actually driving the Secretary General of the U.N. to an official conference. In other cases, courts have found that employees of international organizations can be prosecuted for espionage, because espionage is not among their official duties. Law enforcement officers working with INTERPOL are detailed from agencies in various countries, such as the FBI or the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. They have no power of arrest outside their own countries. Therefore, a seizure of an American (or of an Americans' firearms) would likely not fall within the official duties for which INTERPOL officials would be immune from prosecution. Now don't take any of this to mean that we underestimate our anti-gun opponents, or that we don't believe they would happily and readily seize the opportunity to adopt and enforce measures that would limit our freedom. We know full well that they would. Rather, our message is this: Rumors abound, so don't believe everything you read. If it's a legitimate concern, rest assured your NRA-ILA will promptly address it and will give you the straight story."
  14. We were warned: Kiffin weasels out at Tennessee, lands in Hollywood | Comcast.net "Back in October 2007, the media jumped to call Al Davis everything from "crazy" to "senile" when the Raiders owner fired Kiffin under the most bizarre circumstances imaginable. With an overhead projector exhibiting a hand written letter he had penned to Kiffin, Davis referred to his then 32-year-old coach as a "flat-out liar" and said he was guilty of "bringing disgrace to the organization." On June 8, 2009, the Raiders organization issued a statement about Lane Kiffin's hiring at Tennessee. The statement read: "Lane Kiffin is a flat-out liar. He lied to the team, he lied to the fans, and he lied to the media. He will try to destroy that university like he tried to destroy the Raiders." At the time it was released, the media viewed it as nothing more than sour grapes. In hindsight, Davis was right on the money. Once a weasel, always a weasel."
  15. I already put $50 down on this with my bookie. If I lose, hey I just lose 50 bones. But if I win, the 1,000,000,000 to 1 odds means I get to buy California.
  16. Oh, so this is what Ruger was counting down to. A Glock AR??? Now THAT would be an announcement worthy of a countdown.
  17. This video settled the debate for me long ago. Birdshot at close range will do fine. I live in a condo so 00 buck is a dangerous option for me to use. I can only hope my neighbors feel the same and aren't relying on "perfect aim" (or luck) while under stress to keep buckshot out of my home should they decide to use a shotgun.
  18. I just gave them my SS#, birthday, credit card #, and mailed them a blank check to get on the waiting list. You haters are gonna be so jealous when I'm rocking mine at teh next IPSC tourney.
  19. Saw this on Shooting USA: SIDERLOCK | The Additional Safety for Glock pistols Cheap and easy to install: 28-17 Bianchi Cup Media Probably the only way I would even dream about putting a manual safety on my G19. Of course, it would mean that someone was forcing me to do it at gunpoint. . . and had bought it for me.
  20. Same here. Hope we get "the rest of the story."
  21. I've been a very satisfied Militec user for a couple years. When I got my AR last month, I didn't hesitate to give it the Militec treatment. Then I ran into this on another forum: Recognized HTML document Basically, the DoD says it failed their tests and a Gun Zone writer did a rust test (but didn't apply per instructions) and Militec failed where CLP passed with flying colors. Now, even the mere mention of Militec in some "other" forums brings forth pure anger and disgust with the company now accused of being snake-oil salesmen. So the lube debate rages on.
  22. Stake it through the heart, chop off its head, bury it, salt the bones, then burn it. I think that covers all the bases.
  23. It all makes sense to me now! It starts with Charlie Brown and before you know it, we're all praying to Allah. The slipperiest of slippery slopes. In his defense though, I am a little pissed off too. I seem to miss it every year for some reason or another. And darnit if I didn't miss it again THIS year.

    Windows 7

Many of our IT staff are using it and I just setup a non-IT user's new Win7 laptop yesterday. We like it! Our testing seems to fall in line with other IT professionals: It's not really faster, but more stable/compatible than Vista. And more secure than XP (for now). It also makes my leg tingle a little bit. (Yes, Microsoft paid me to say that last thing.)
  25. The absence of both of these make my G19 desirable.
