  1. Welcome to TGO from Skip's Firearms
  2. I laughed so hard I must go change now!!!!
  3. Terrible situation. My prayers are with you that all comes out OK.
  4. Crytes, I liked it
  5. No large scale sources in nature? Just do a google search for hydrogen sources, or look at a college science book. I am not trying to be an A--, I am just showing that my statement was correct, and possibly give some useful information for the formation of educated opinions. As you may know, hydrogen is the most abundant element in the Universe, and is very common on earth. Hydrogen is the simplest of atoms, composed of one proton and one electron. But pure, diatomic hydrogen (H2)—the fuel of choice for fuel cells . (Found Here: http://www.rmi.org/sitepages/pid204.php) Do we have large scale amounts of water? I think so. We are still in the infancy stages of hydrogen, but it is viable and is being used by several colleges and many industries in this country alone. And it is very plentiful and very simple to "Crack". Honda's new Hydrogen car does not burn the hydrogen but instead is splits the atoms from water into electrons and protons and then uses them to charge a battery or bank of batteries. Japan has several cars that run strictly on water by using a similar method. There are people in New Zealand or Australia that have generators that run their homes via hydrogen. There is one man in New Zealand who claims to have 25KW generator that once started produces 5 times the power it takes to run. I have seen the videos but can't verify or prove it. He uses a similar method as the Bedini Motor. A fuel cell is an electrochemical device that combines hydrogen fuel and oxygen from the air to produce electricity, and useable heat and water. Fuel cells produce Direct Current (DC) electricity without the conventional combustion reaction. A fuel cell is made up of an electrolyte member sandwiched between fuel and oxidant electrodes. Typically, a fossil fuel or biogas from which hydrogen is extracted is used for most common applications. The oxidant is typically plain air. The fuel is oxidized at the “anode electrode”, releasing electrons that move to the “cathode electrode” via the external circuit. These electrons meet the hydrogen and push charged ions across the electrolyte. The charged ions (positively or negatively charged) move across the ion conducting electrolyte member, completing the electrical circuit. This electrochemical process requires very few moving parts, typically limited to air blowers and fuel/water pumps. Because of high fuel conversion efficiency, the flexibility to generate Combined Heat and Power (CHP), low-impact characteristics, and negligible environmental emissions, fuel cells are a desirable source of power generation for a broad range of markets and applications. Fuel cells are fast replacing reciprocating engines and gas turbines as the most environmentally-friendly sources of on-site power. I am currently working on a electrolysis system for water that uses high frequency DC pulses to reach an appropriate resonance frequency to split the hydrogen and oxygen from water. Of course this is a little more complicated than stated, but this is not a forum for electronics. I have seen one similar system put out quite a large yield of hydrogen while pulling only 300ma (.3 Amps). So the output is quite a bit more than the input. This is of course still not considered over-unity by me, but it is on its way. If you are talking about running a car on hydrogen, you get the power to start the process from a battery, which ever car uses.?.? If you use solar, you need sun. If you use hydro power you need water. If you use wind power you need wind. In the absence of all of these we still have water from rivers, creeks, springs etc. Below is some information from a company who sells commercial power plants that use natural gas and other things to produce electricity via hydrogen. There are vasts amounts of hydrogen available in natural gas, and the byproduct of these power plants is water. I for one believe there are a large number of ways for us to get power besides local power companies or nuclear power plants. But everyone is allowed to believe the way they believe, and I love it..... Here is a link that might interest you: http://www.iags.org/n052404t1.htm
  6. ProMag is total JUNK!!!
  7. I would like to see pics of your sheaths also...
  8. We could still do Sunday at 1pm or a later at the CHRPC. Just send me email to let me know how many will come, so I can have some other members there so I don't get into trouble. I will still pay $5 for anyone who wants to shoot the 3 gun, just let me know. My email: skip@skipsfirearms.com Cell 423-667-3173
  9. I will have a Remington 870 super express magnum, 8 round pump for anyone to borrow. I will have extra ammo for it too. I will see tomorrow if my local supplier has any wolf 223 I can get hold of.
  10. Well, I guess I can't read a calendar at all. molonlabetn, Would you be able to shoot in the 3 gun? What time is the wedding? Would anyone else like to shoot in the 3 gun?
  11. OK, I screwed up. the 13th is the 3 gun shoot at the range I belong to. But it is very fun and I think you all would enjoy it. It is EXACTLY like the IDPA but completely different It costs $10 but Skip's Firearms will pay $5 towards you if you want to shoot. Up to 20 people..... This day is a public shoot at the CHRCP range, so anyone can come to shoot!!!! We use Pistol, Shotgun and Rifle to shoot courses similar to IDPA using the same carboard targets. It starts at 10AM Eastern time and usually ends around 2pm. It is a very friendly shoot and there are less rules than the IDPA. If you don't want to show up for the match, you can come about 1:45 and some of us can stay and get together to shoot after. I am sorry I spoke too soon, but I really think this would be fun for all. Anyone can call me on my cell 423-667-3173 if you want. I will try to setup something for the very near future for just TGO people, I promise. 12. Well Price G, Since there are quite a few of us members, couldn't we get everyone in our club to hang and shoot?????? I will talk to Price G on Monday and see if we can arrange something. I am sorry that I may have spoken out of turn. But at the least, anyone can shoot in the 3 gun that Price runs on Saturday. Then anyone who wanted to stay a little longer and shoot some more. Whata think Price (In A Gary Coleman Voice)

Welcome to the dark side of guns...... SIG RULES:D
  14. I agree, there are too many ideas on this issue. It is an issue where we all state what we think and why and everyone else is free to make up their own mind. But remember that even in states with Concealed Carry laws, there are also anti gun liberals who would like to take guns away. And I personally don't believe that concealed or open carry would change any of their minds. But you absolutely correct that someone could come up to you and shoot you in the head since they know you have a gun, but sometimes they do that anyway. And at that point it would not matter how you carried because you would not have the opportunity to react. The fact that this could happen I believe to be a constant in this world and it will never change. If you could always expect the unexpected then it would no longer be unexpected, would it? It is almost the same as the research that shows burglars prefer to rob a house that does not have dogs. Why? Because the dog adds an element of noise and possible injury, and they could just go next door where there is no dog or maybe even security lights and rob it easier. If you just walk up to someone and shoot them in the head you are drawing a lot of attention to yourself, which I don't believe most of the bad guys want. Not to say this does not happen or won't ever happen to me. There is a chance also that no matter how you carry, when your life is being threatened that you will not react fast enough or have enough time to react and still be killed. So basically how you carry is dictated to you by your state in the first place, and then within those laws you do what you want. But I bet there are a lot of people who aren't allowed to Open Carry in their state, and wish they could. The grass is always greener on the other side. But you do make a very valid point which to me is this, carry the way you think is best for you. I love hearing people's ideas and opinions. That is one thing that makes the USA great. FREEDOM.......All we have to do is stick together and help each other make sure it stays FREE!!!!!!! "Power Perceived is Power Achieved". Isn't that the idea of law enforcement and military? (I am not saying carrying give you any power!!!!) I just noticed you are in Ocoee. I am in Cleveland and if you ever get over here send me an email and we can go shoot some stuff. And it doesn't bother me how you carry, I'll still shoot with you. This is the "Patron state of shooting stuff" after all. HAPPY 4th to ALL!!
  15. You know, maybe some people do have or have had trouble carrying open. But I have been carrying open for several years, Walmart, Hamilton Place Mall, Grocery Store, Gas Station etc, and I have never once had anyone hassle me. I have stood right next to a copy while I pump gas and talked to him and never had anything said. (Oh Yeah, that's because I drive a vehicle that says Skip's Firearms all over it!) But seriously, I do put my un-tucked shirt over my Sig sometimes, but mostly OC. I know a lot of people like having the "Surprise" thing on their side, and I respect anyone who wants to carry differently than me. I make no bones about it man, just strap it on in your own way and help me fight the oppression of my 2nd amendment rights. But I believe in kind of the opposite thought. (Story begins with quiet fiddles in the background) If you and I are walking down the street late one night, you on one side of the street and me on the other, you concealed and me open, and two really bad dudes are looking to mess with someone, who do they pick? My theory is that even STUPID BAD GUYS would know that they are going to have more trouble messing with the guy they KNOW has a gun than messing with the guy who they think might not. Now of course both you and I will shoot their sorry A--es from our respective side of the street whether we are concealed or not, so in the end, we live and they suffer perforation by .45acp justice...... But that is my reason for mostly choosing OC. Remember I said I have respect for any mode of carry, so don't let this turn into bashing each others choice, I was just letting you know my ideas. By they way, Hey Jan. If this is the Jan I know....and if not Hey anyway.
  16. I guess I am already supporting them, cause I carry open 90% of the time. Good info, I did not know that there was a day/weekend setup for this.
  17. I have heard many people say things about Taurus Support. I have a customer who needed repair on a 44 mag Taurus revolver. The barrel would not go back on and it looked like someone had run over it with a truck. Found out that they did! We shipped it back to Taurus for him with a letter to call with repair costs. about 2 months later they sent him a brand new revolver. No questions asked. I have had 2 other similar incidents with Taurus. In 2 years I have not had any negative interactions with Taurus. Now I don't know if being a dealer made any difference or not, but so far they have been top notch for me. Doesn't mean they will be with everyone everytime.....
  18. God Bless America! And all of us too!:)
  19. Armalaser makes an excellent product. I have sold many for the Keltec P3AT 380 and everyone seems to like them pretty well. When you stick your finger in the trigger guard the laser activates automatically. When you remove your finger the laser turns off within a few seconds. Pretty cooooool...
  20. These are some vendor lists but no one has stock yet, that I can find. Price on the pistol PLR-22 will be around $290 + T/T when we can get them. The Rifle SU-22 will be around $350 + T/T. These are listed as "Allocated", which means they will be as hard to get as the PLR-16.
  21. What a bunch of BS BS BS BS...........
  22. I liked the shop when Dan owned it. I had some customers who went. One of them bought a bunch of Browning shotguns, I think. He can't help buying every Browning he finds.
  23. I can scare up a few other TGO people to meet to shoot then. We got a pretty good range just north of Chatt to shoot at..
  24. My name is Skip Dempsey. I live in Cleveland, TN and own a gun store in Ooltewah, which is just north of Chattanooga. I have had a lot of customers tell me about TGO so I decided to check it out. And I'm glad I did. This forum contains a ton of useful information and opinions. I hope to be able to contribute to some of these. I love guns and will always fight for my/our 2nd amendment rights. Glad to be here and thanks for having me. Skip
  25. WOW! That really puts it into perspective, doesn't it. Maybe one day we will learn that we can run things on Hydrogen derived from natural gas or even water. Other countries have been doing this for years.
