9mm Suppressor Suggestions
Hammer285 replied to Hammer285's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Thanks all. I'm liking the Rev 9 and TiRant 9. Looks like I need to save up just a little more to get a quality can. I'll post pics once I make a decision and get the ATF Rigmarole taken care of. -
9mm Suppressor Suggestions
Hammer285 replied to Hammer285's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
In reality, it would be nice to have 1 can that could work with most of my firearms (9mm, 5.56, .308 and 7.62 x 39. I found this http://libertycans.net/mystic-x/ and wonder if it would be a good option. -
I'm about to pull the trigger on a 9mm suppressor and was hoping to get some suggestions from my TGO family. Anyone with hands-on experience? Preferred makes or models? I'm hoping to find one in the $500 range and will be using it with a 3rd gen Glock 19 for home defense (and fun at the range). My tinnitus thanks you in advance.

She's a beauty. My next build is going to be a 9mm carbine that takes Glock mags...and this makes me want to be impatient and start today haha.

If the buyer has a valid TN handgun carry permit you are covered pretty well. Means they are over 21, have taken the required safety class, passed a background check and finger prints are on file with TBI.

Do you happen to have an Xbox 360 or One? You can stream media to the console from your PC using the 'PlayTo' feature. You'd probably have to convert the mkv file to Avi or Mp4 for it to work. If you search goggle you'll likely find a free converter or at least one that is less expensive than a bluray burner.

Gotcha. I wasn't even thinking personal preference. If you already have a build, have you considered a Hammerhead grip? Only $30. https://www.exilemachine.net/shop/exile-machine-hammerhead-ca-legal-ar-15-stock-adapter-1.html

Would definitely be a good choice in a restricted state, but for $800 you could find a lightly used Colt LE6920.

The MOE handguard is ok, but a bit too wide at the bottom. Will probably get the new MOE-SL when they are available.

Here is my PSA 10.5" build:

A group of film junkies put together the despecialzed versions of the original trilogy. They don't sell it... Free for anyone who has purchased the films in any other format. Read the part about how they got all the original pieces together and in HD. http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-V25-MKV-IS-OUT-NOW/topic/12713/

Great find. She's a beauty.

Congrats on the build. I just finished my first pistol build last week and got that same PSA upper (great price, couldn't pass it up.) I used a MOE hand guard, Phase 5 Tactical HEX buffer and tossed on a Sig SBX brace. Just need optics. I'll post a picture here in a bit.

Completely agree. I would love to open carry for the comfort aspect; but I never do because of the very reason you mentioned above.

This HAS to be a joke....it doesn't come in FDE. My favorite part of the prank: "The whole purpose of open carry is to give off the "don't mess with me" persona. The whole purpose of Perceived Carry Decoys is to give off the appearance that you too are ready for anyone, anywhere." Unless that 'Anyone' has a real gun....then you're f-ed.

something happened in Seymour this morning.
Hammer285 replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Here is the story: http://www.local8now.com/crimetracker/headlines/Employee-at-Seymour-Cash-Express-robbed-at-gunpoint-298933541.html Too bad the employee wasn't carrying; the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office wouldn't need help finding the suspect - they would just have to look down. -
Perfecta Ammo on Sale @ Walmart in Mt. Juliet
Hammer285 replied to Hammer285's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Did a search for "perfecta" before posting - this thread didn't come up. Sorry guys. -
Just wanted to give anyone in the Mount Juliet area a heads up - I was at Walmart earlier today and saw they have Perfecta ammo on 'rollback'. 50 rounds of 9mm for $6.97 20 rounds of .308 WIN for $6.94 I have never used it before, so I did a quick review lookup on my phone and everyone says the stuff shoots just as good as Federal. At $0.37/round for .308 WIN (after tax and ammo fee) I couldn't pass it up. They have a 6 box limit, so I'll be making another trip later today and hope they don't recognize me so I can snag another 120 rounds.

Just repeating everyone else, but I have lots of PSA and PTAC builds. All great. Good prices and good quality.
-
Understandable mistake - I have kids and you'd be surprised what I forget on a regular basis with the daily grind (cell phone, work laptop, belt, matching socks, kids, etc.) Congrats on finding an awesome wife...and on the XD. Best to be prepared no matter what. Also, congrats on getting rid of the Nano- apologies to any Nano lovers out there.

I probably should have added that. I have a Primary Arms pistol buffer kit that cost me about $40. So technically it was about $10 over $500 when all was said and done. Not too shabby. (And of course the brace, which runs about $100. I didn't count that since it it's more of an accessory.)

Would you SBR a Palmetto lower?
Hammer285 replied to maroonandwhite's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I have put together a number of builds using PSA and PTAC. All work flawlessly and the wife likes the fact that Palmetto State doesn't break the bank. You mentioned getting a PTAC lower, but that line is usually for their upper assemblies. The only difference between the two is their quality control. PSA is mil-spec (every piece off the line is checked) while PTAC is expected to be mil-spec (they batch check every 100 or so - if the tested pieces pass, the batch passes). Either way, I think you're good to go with PSA or PTAC.
