I used to be a member of NAC in Antioch and there was a continuous rash of break ins. Most all were for something left in the front seat or floorboard. Lots of purses. My buddy in the theft division right next door at the police station (that's how brazen these crackheads were) said they don't really target certain vehicles, but it's more a target of opportunity. They stroll parking lots looking in vehicles. He said I should see some of the surveillance footage. They can literally walk by break a window and grab whatever's inside without even breaking stride. Now at home or in an apartment complex parking lot it's a different story.

I think all the regular members on here will always have at least one on them, and in the sock drawer, the underwear drawer, the closet, under the bed, by the shower, tucked in the couch, top of the fridge, on the work bench, glove box, trunk, barn, gym bag, and various plants scattered about the house.

Amazing and wonderful that advances in medicine could do this for you. The fact you struggled so long and survived is incredible. -
Bersaguys corny jokes are the highlight of my day! :)

That's funny!

Luckily were in BFE, so not much worry at home. If we go out we don't leave guns in the vehicles.

I've had good and bad. I have a wonderful doctor in cool springs. She sees me and my wife. We will still drive two hours just to see her. I think an easy way to tell good from bad is the time they spend with you and they're acceptance of your input. I believe in all avenues of life there are a percentage of bad people. Unfortunately I believe that percentage is growing, especially in careers that involve money or power.

you know you have problems when....

It's sad. I feel sorry for anyone attacked, but also for the animals. I have mixed feelings about zoos. I know sometimes they are necessary for animal preservation but I don't know if caging up something that roams miles a day is any better. -
New gun blamed for rise in LA County deputy shootings
Monkeyman2500 replied to waynesan's topic in Handguns
What are the training requirements when departments switch to a different firearm? I would think it was a big deal, but I might be wrong. I had not thought about how used to trigger control on a certain firearm someone could get, especially in a department where there is a higher likelihood of drawing the firearm. -

Booger hook on bang button. Bad results every time. Sounds like a training issue. Although if I was an LA cop I might have the same. -
Great review! You did some nice note taking as well. Try to get the videos up, would love to see them.

Glad you weren't hurt bad. Hope it all comes out ok.

Walmart strikes again, this time more serious
Monkeyman2500 replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
Wally World has its place, we use it for cheep stuff that is only made in china and basic food stuff. We try to get everything else from local places. We stopped using the lowes because of bad customer service and now we love our local Ace hardware. Same for our auto mechanic. It's less convenient but we get much better service. When we go to any big box store we just expect zero customer service. -
My have to check that out. Looks promising. We watched the newest Transformers last night, that was dismal. It could have just been an hour and a half all cgi without the poor acting and been a lot better.

Finding a good mechanic is getting harder nowadays. A lot of good younger guys are going to high end import shops and dealers. It's just where the money is. We are lucky to have a great local shop here that does good work. Not the cheapest but really good. As for the walmart, I would avoid doing business with them again. Sounds like poor management and that has a bad trickle down effect on any business. -
I second calling them. Can't hurt. You were just tightening to spec.
-
Ha! Sad but true. Thanks for the water advice too. I'm going to try and get it up today.

Great read EssOne. Thanks. Your dad reminds me of my grandfather. It's funny that with his 7th grade education he would be considered a mechanical engineer by today's standards.
