  1. it is a bergara 1-8 twist 10 1/2 inch 300 blk barrel and being that I had made the decission on the buy already I was hoping that someone here might have some imput on them, for the price of 98.00 I am hoping that some of what I have read is accurate in the description of the barrel along with accuracy.  Thanks in advance for any info.
  2. is the hunting there any good?  Does it matter what time of day or can all three times of the day be fruitfull for hunting deer, and is it all considered Tennessee land to  hunt or does it fall under federal land use and need a different license to hunt thanks, I have not seen much where i am hunting in Sango/clarksville area and would like to try a different area before the season ends.  Thank in advance.
  3. As a vendor for both U-haul and Penske at one time I went to both for rates to move here from Cali, and even with the vendor rates the u-haul was going to be much higher than a penske rental, they also use diesel power for the one way rentals and all are top notch trucks, U-haul charges miles plus daily cost and Penske like mention about budget only charges a daily rental, which was much cheaper than a u-haul, look at all of them then decide as there is more than 2 options out there to haul your stuff.  And even as strange as it might sound look into something like the T.V. program there might be someone out there that needs to fill a load coming here and will haul it for cheap, you could look and post a ad on craigslist, and only pay once you get your stuff.  Just another option good luck on your decision.
  4. ya there is a cost for the online class i think it is 25.00, and not sure how often a person can get into the shooting portion which like mentioned above, 2 or 3 rounds of 12 guage you just need to show that you can take it off safety fire safely and back on safe.  they also have them at the Montgomery shooting complex just not to sure how often they offer them there, just another option to get out in the woods with a smoke pole or what ever flavor of choice you have.
  5. Musicman you might look into taking the class and exame on line then you would have to go to a range for the shooting portion, now if you go this route you do have to pay.  Dont hold me to the cost but I think it will run you 25.00 for online plus the cost of the shooting portion.  There were people that cam in to the Saturday class that I had taken my son to that were there from the online way of taking the class ready to do the shooting portion, it is an option if you want to look at it and go that route.  You wouldnt have to wait till next year if you didnt want to.
  6. After going back and rerading the posts several times more of the info is begining to sink in, if a person wants to pop for the 375.00 how does one go about buying one of the uppers?   Thanks
  7. Tooreal, from your posting above you mention there is a 100.00 difference between the N.F. and the one mentioned above for 375.00 however the N.F. is 198.00 so almost a 200.00 difference I am sure I could scrounge up the difference in cost, however, and as OH Shoot asked above, what would be the driving factors to want to go this route vs a standard upper and lower especially during this time of year when everyone is having or going to have Black Friday specials going on.  It has to be more than just being different to justify going this route unless they are going to be offering a bigger price brake this time of year.   Thanks
  8. eager to see a response myself to help decide before dumping the cash in a upper.   Thanks
  9. my bad for not remembering where this thread was located and reposted a question under another catagory, I am interested in a side charging upper for myself as well, but, I have a tight budget that I have to work with wich makes the New Frontier attractive to me and looking for more pros and cons on that upper.  Again my bad for have brain gas at the time of posting in the other section.   thanks for the info.
  10. the new frontier from what i read is non reciprocating, and the bcg with the exception of the cam pin is interchangable. Others dont like the fact that there is no forward bolt assist, not sure that the lack of one is all that big of a deal. And again from another converstion I had with a person who works for a distributor is that they are more reliable. If the only draw back is the lack of a dust cover then it might be a good upper for the price point, that is what I am wishing for anyway.
  11. well I thought I would get a few responses to the question asked. or the comments made.
  12. would like to read more and have more input on these, I am on the fence about buying one of these over an anything else, of course I have high hopes that there will be several Black Friday sales going on. I know there was some comments on another thread and Dolo was thinking about one, part of the attraction for me is 2 points, price, and side charging. Based on a short discussion the other day with another person, his opinion was greater reliablility with a side charger, it does not bother me that it doesnt have a dust cover, and sort of on the fence with the forward assist. What ya'll have to say. Thanks
  13. Dolo would you add me to the conversation as well please and thanks. Ron
  14. gatting ready to load some of these in some L.C. brass for the 300blk the info that I have found and it is not right in front of me but I think it was around 16 to 17grn, I know there are a few of you out there that have loaded this round but not sure if you use this powder. I have not been able to get my hands on any 110 or lil gun so I have to work with what I have. also has anyone loaded any of the Barnes 110grn ttx using 4227 for 300blk I want to try some of that as well I have it on order and going to pick it up on Monday. Thanks in advance.
  15. wanted to bring this back up again as I was sitting here watching the hunting channel today there was a commercial for HECS. I looked it up on line and there was about as much bashing it as there was praise for it. That was over on a bow site, and of course it is something that I have not heard of but sort of makes sense so it raised the question in my mind as to if anyone here on this site has tried it, or thinks it is a bunch of whoee. Hope there is some feed back, as there was another point made as well that scent blocker lost a law suite due to have a monopoly on the market. feedback
  16. The 300blk mag from D & H came in today I bought it from wilson combat for a great price and look forward to testing it. From 1st glance the front rib is much thinner than most ofther mags that I have. and I have bought and tested the lancer mag and had a problem with it when the last round went to load, the bolt traveled over the top of the round falling to feed, there is onw other mag that I have modified extensivly that did not have any other problems after fileing down the rib and round off the front on the mad with a beburing tool. So look forward to testing the D & H the only Issue I have with wilson is the shipping fees thats where they get ya.
  17. I have several on my phone but I cant say if they work or not, as I have not used any yet. I found them on the android store for free, and have looked at the blue tooth speakers as well, what you need to keep in mind is that with the blue tooth you are limited to 30 feet in distance, it might be worth a shot. I did go out in the back one night not long ago and tried the yote calls and it did get all the farm dogs way off in the distance to start barking and carrying on so who knows?!
  18. Thanks for all the updates, I need to go to the good will and see what I might find there to begin the project with and did check out both powder companies.
  19. I'll keep that it mind I dont get down that way often but if I decide to put everything together I will look in to their powder.
  20. I dont have a tumbler that I would want to use for the methods that I have seen on utube the tumbler that I have is for stainless tumbling my brass, the gun that I had mentioned looks like a hair dryer witha small tank that you fill with the powder and works really well, as I mentioned I had used it for metal art that I had done in the past so it could fill multi rolls should I want to do some powdercoating on gun parts in the future.
  21. Thanks for the info, I have done a bunch of powder coating just not with lead and have not used lead boolits, I did watch some utube videos last night and went surching for the 1st type powder coating gun I use to use. I found plenty of the guns on ebay and other places ase they dont use air compressor it is totaly electric, not sure I like the tumble way, so now just need to scrounge up all the parts and hunt around town for lead, the gun I am talking about was sold at one time by sears you can find them on ebay for about 47.00 they dont need air like I mentioned and work real well, I used them on metal art things that I would make and well in Cali before we moved here. Thanks again for the info.
  22. I would like to get to doing this but dont know the 1st thing about it, and I am the kind of person that can learn by watching then doing, and are there good utube videos on line I have not looked yet.  Thanks for all the input to come forth.
  23. I called barnes about this just the other day and according to the tech that I have spoken with, they have now changed their boolits just a bit so that powder charge weights now used for other mfg rounds will work properly with theirs.  However dont expect the same the results might be different depending on the caliber, but being there is one specific to 223/556 the results should be what they predict.
  24. not sure how but I happened upon 3 of the harris bipods, so I thought I would do some looking around and found on the harris website that they now offer a swivel mount for the biponds.  Now it can be said that they are proud of their stuff by the prices they charge.
