  1. it is then comes the equipment which can get expensive when there is a desire to out on the HF freqs, but that is where ham meets and ham fests are nice.  There were several that were held each moth or at least each quarter in Cali.  I have doen some looking to see what might be the nearest location to go for a ham fest, some good prices can be found there.  In almost everyway they are just like a gun show, just radios, parts antennas, as well as everything else that are related and some that are not.
  2. If you ever get down this way let me know
  3. uhh ohhh no to be honest I should have never given up being a driver, however it was a different era in America, we were atill a producing nation and not a service nation.  At the time that I drove you could almost walk on the top of union driven trucks everynight fro Los angeles to the San Fransisco area, that has all gone away replaced by low wages, guys arent making any more than I was making in the 80's.  Sad for the guys and the families that depend on those wages to sustain a living.  The only good that I can say is that I drove myself to earn a masters degree, that is something that cant be taken away, anyway good luck!
  4. If you have been doing well on the pratice test you should do well in that you are correct the practice questions are the same.  And I understand I worked in trucking for 35 years myself in almost every aspect from dock worker to driver to over the road driver, them maintenance, and finally management.  Thats is what got be interested not so much in c b but ham, but being from Los Angeles the c b radio bs is much different.  But I wanted to be able to carry on conversations with far away people, but currently I cant afford the HQ radios like I once had, but was hoping to find others in the area that are intersted and maybe find out about ham swap meets close by.
  5. my son just picked some up during the holidays and we are still attampting to set them up, the tech lic is not that hard to obtain as there is no code requirement anymore.  If I am not mistakes you can go qrz.com and take pratice tests there to see how you will do on the exam.  One thing to keep in mind with the baofeng radios and all radios like them is that they are line of site radios, so unless there is a very high repeater in the area the distance will be limited just like a c b radio.
  6. I have my general license but have not been using it, when I had a heart attack while still living in Cali I had to sell all of my gear.  I have had an interst in getting back in to monitoring and transmitting but the pocket book doesnt share the same enthusiasm, but hope that will change in the near future.  However I have notices a few things while here in Ten, there doesnt seem to be as much participation here as there was in Cali, and there arent many if any ham swap meets like there was in Cali, or at least it doesnt appear to be that way.  So I thought I would reachout and find others that are active or have been in the past are might be thinking about getting back in to it again.  Thanks for looking and inputting any info you have.   Ron   ki6pxf

  9. I googled it and saw the location, is thier selection better than some of the other pawn shops in the area? and at more resonable prices?
  10. so to reiterate, they notified you that something was wrong with your filing and let you correct that?  Interesting!
  11. Dustbuster it has been about a month and I am getting closer to ordering the DD and thought I would check back again about the performance, has anything change? still diggin it?   Thanks
  12. I hope that he quoted 250.00 or less for his services, as there are other attornies in the Nasville area that will do the paperwork for 250.00. there is one here in clarksville as well that does them for 250.00 so it is also wise to shop around for price to get the best deal you can if money is tight if wanting to do a trust for weapons, and you should look into getting it done soon as there is rumor that on the horizon beneficiaries are going to need finger print cards, like they are now for none trust form 1's
  13. None taken, that is why I did add the caveat emptor in the passage, I would however trust my own research over that of someone else, to drive my decision process in what route to take in the end.  :)
  14. If Obama had real cousins they would all look like them just sayun.  the should all be made to suck on a female pigs vagina that would cure them.
  15. After writting the above ^^^ I had a senior moment, and thought about the fact that if you live near a large city, you should be able to find a legal library there, and they might have a boiler plate living trust that you can photo copy and use.  Again I came from Cali and if a person was so driven then they could go and find one and fill it out.  Or buy a book that has wills, trusts, and that sort of thing and again do it yourself, you might have to haveit notarized once completed again just some rambling and old age thinking out load and my own rediculas opinion. But again that is what you pay the big bucks to the attorney for.  :)
  16. I have not been willing to chime in when this subject comes up, in my earlier days I had ventured in to college with the desire to persue a Juris doctorate degree, but fell short of that with a masters, but while doing that I had performed some voluntary work at the Pasadena superior court in California, what I discovered is that each state has their own way of doing things.  Each state will have their own way of pleading cases, and will will use what is called pleading paper or forms.  With that being said, alot of the work comes down to boiler plate documents that can be used to prepare a pleading in a case, like a devorce, seperation, child custody, etc.  Like mentioned above the people that are selling the boiler plate documents cannot give legal advice or chance going to jail.    However, it has been done for years in many states, where a person can prepare their own documents for a particular situation, most often called in pro per.  But with this situation it is slightly different, however like mentioned above you take the chance of someone some where saying it isnt right, just like all the minutia that has taken place with the Sig brace, one day its legal, one day it's not.  Even in this state it probably comes down to the fact that the documents have been refined to the point of being correct, and are even provided to attornies in a software package, that can be purchased by begining, fresh new lawyers so they can hit the ground running, and selling their lip service to the buying public, but the caveat is, buyer beware.  I have spoken with some people here in Ten that have used some of these services and have been successful, but again it is your choice to spend some, or less money, depending on your own evaluation of your set of skills to fill them out, use a boiler plate, or use a person with a juris doctorate degree and have their paralegal fill them out, then spend a few minutes with the attorney.   JMOO   Ron
  17. we saw one example of the vulva stock, so it might come to pass ( no pun ) wher that stock grows (no pun) to be popular for crotch shots instead of shouldering the weapon, but your buddy wouldnt want to use it.  :)
  18. praying for you and your dad,  it is said that we cannot earn salvation, that we are saved by Gods grace all you have to do is admit that you are sinner, as we all sine one way or another.  You have to believe that Christ died on the cross for our sins and ask for his forgiveness, God knows what is in your and your fathers heart.  Ask your dad to say the following prayer to accept Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour.  Say it out load together,  Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask you for forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead.  I will trust and follow you all the days of my life as my Lord and Savior.  Guide my life and help me to do your will.  and I just ask that you fill me with the holy spirt,  in Juses name I pray.  Say this prayer with him say it out loud let your emotions guid you during this process.   God Bless and prayers coming your way.
