  1. As bvarnell mentioned the church of lds has the most records of any location bar none, unless you are willing to pay for a DNA test but those sites are very similar to ancestory.com they want you to buy a more expensive test, but there basic test will get you started as well in doing your geneology. Good luck in your search it can be fun and also hair pulling, my sister has been researching for years on the subject and at times it will lead to a dead end depending on locations and record keeping back in the day.
  2. I am sure you are right garufa, so out of curiosity I did a web search for AR's on their site and none come up. Other rifles come up but not the Ar type, now you might be a better researcher than I and can determine if they or assualt type shotguns are still available through them, but none should up, just the run of the mill type hunting weapons. If indeed what the person told me, yet to be determined through a better source it speaks volumes to what is happening to our rights to buy weapons in this country. With the buying ability of a chain like them will cave, (if in fact they did) just imagine what the moms against guns our whoever the prevailing source was that forced them to cave can do to a small mom and pop gun store. But being I got the info from a clerk time will only tell if they or enyone else will be left to sell us the items we wish to have to play in the sand box we choose to play in. :)
  3. he did, however he has been there for a long period of time so I might not want to classify him as the typical lnow nothing wal mart worker but time will tell.
  4. and after today will not be carrying any more assault type rifles or shot guns, this was according to one of the sales clerks that we always talk to when we go in looking for ammo here in Clarksville. He indicated that they have already removed all of them from the order lists of available weapons, so if you want one better get it today at least what they have on hand you might find a deal. According to the sales rep they will only from today forwars carry hunting style rifles and shotguns, so someone or group finaly got to them and made them cave, even though that alot of people dont like them at least you could count on them for some low prices, but it will help the LGS, now that they arent going to carry them. Not sure what it will do to the prices at the LGS I guess time will tell.
  5. Not a problem wew got it done that is what counts.
  6. Not sure if your talking about the MDT stocks that are made for the remington 700, they use a ar buffer tube and pistol grip and then you can use any type of ar but stock that you choose that fits your style and liking. there are 3 stocks in the MDT stock line starting around 399.00 and going up from there. I have my eye on that stock as well if that is the one that your were mentioning above, I am looking forward to replacing the 700 short action that I had to sell and will probably go with the MDT stock. goos luch with your choice.
  7. Just want to give a shot out to dim37015 we had to do some shufflin and moziun around but we got it done and I was able to pick up 8 pounds of w296 and gonna split that with some one else so that we both have some, So thanks David have a safe trip to Kansis city.
  8. Thanks for the info I am going to call the nra today and find out
  9. I plan on going just paid for the cheap ticket, but I did pay none the less.  But have some questions, how long does it take to get out a membership id so I can order the tickets, and what kind of parking at the facility, being new here I know nothing about the location.  I do have a disabled tag so would hope that it would get me closer to the venue, and what do you guys think that the fees for parking would run if I can get in close to the building.   Thanks for the info.
  10. Thanks all for the info, Dolo what I had been seeing in the reloading manual was that I would reach the same fps with a lower charge using 110 or lil gun, and I never load to max capacity.  With the ability to have a lighter load with the fps veloctiy being the same and sometimes a little better than I would get with 4227 I was thinking that I would be a little more on the safe side.  David I had not noticed any postings of availability of powders lately so want sure if you would have any, as I mentioned above I cannot aford a large tub but will give a call and see if you are in town or when I can get together with you to pick up a pound or 2 if you have them in 1 pound bottles.    Thanks again everyone for all the input.
  11. Not sure neither he or oh shoot have replied
  12. I have been on the look out for the w296 as well, I am told that it looks identicle to h110 but that cannot be found either, so the search continues.
  13. what alternatives have any of you found for these 2 powders, I have read that lil gun can run hotter heat wise vs the H110 powder, but my problem is that I cant find any local and cant realy afford a 5 or 8 pound jug at this time. I have a couple pounds of 4227 but have a need for something faster so that I can load some of lehigh 110 controlled chaos. Some have said that I can run it fast enough with 4227 others have indicated that I need to go with h110. and before I forget this for running 300blk in both a 10 inch pistola and and standard carbin thanks in advance,
  14. While on this subject DOLO maybe or I know that you can probably answer this question for me. when using a hadguard with an aluminum nut would those be considered a one time use type nut and would you advise to stay away for those? Thanks
  15. where did you find the 80 % percenters on sale at, I have been thinking about trying one myself. Thanks
  16. The brass collecting is not a big problem but does occure due to the fact that so much is left after being trimmed once I cut down a 223 to 300blk. Others have positioned there striaght up and down or on its side. there are other who discuss it over on 300blk website and of course utube.
  17. I have one and so far have only used it with 300blk, when prepping that brass it is a little tough due to the brass itself being so short.  I have worked out a solution for the problem and it works well.  I also have been using the cutting blade made for the Hornady tools, it works just as well and is interchangable.  I have found it to be quick and efficient with the only draw back being the brass trimmings collecting in the collet, but I probably generate more shavings than the average person would as I go from cutting down ar brass down to 300blk then straight to the trimmer and deburing.  I also happened to look at midsouths website at the right time when they had dropped the price way down on them and the wet tumbler that compliments the trimming station so I got them super cheap.
  18. I didnt write what is posted below it was posted on FB by another poster, but it hit the nail right on the head, there are more reports everyday true or not that muzlims are being allowed to participate in our Government affairs due to OBO, while we sit back and watch what is going on.  Now I am not that old 62 years young but can remember all of the rioting and protests over Viet Nam, the draft, and how we should not be in other countries fighting their wars, as a nam era vet I have long felt like we should have nuked them when carter was in office and didnt, now we have to deal with the after effects of not doing so, just like if Paton would have been allowed to go in and kick the arses of the rusians we might not have had to deal with their BS either but politics got in the way. The muzlims see us as the enemy and are looking to decimate us one way or another and have been attempting that since the inception of this country.  How we handle the problem now will have consequences far beyond our own life time, and I would like to think that my grandchildren and their grandchildren will be able to live happy, free, lives, like we have been allowed to do without interference from a bunch of wacks that want us to be like them, think like them, or die.    Jesus told his followers to pray for unbelievers, Mohammad told his to behead them There is a big difference! Muslims have been gaining in numbers and territory by torturing and killing unbelievers since the 7th century until the Ottoman empire was broken up after WWI in 1924. They enslaved and raped captive women and children during their rein of terror. They tried to invade Europe many times but were pushed back by Christians and the Crusades. Unless we know history we are fooled into believing terrorism is something new by Islam because of the "terrible things the United States is doing" or because " Israel was made into a nation after WWII". The truth is terrorist are following the teachings of the Quran just like they did during the Ottoman empire. Moderate Muslims are just the ones that don't take Islam seriously. The radical Muslims are the ones who take it seriously because Islam is a radical belief. Islam seeks the establishment of Sharia law that calls for the submission and or death of unbelievers. Our constitution guarantees freedom of religion. Sharia law is, of its own nature, unconstitutional and can not be permitted in order to protect the very freedom of religion it seeks to destroy. The other problem with Islam is it isn't just a religion, it is also a form of government that seeks to replace other forms of governments.
  19. Of course the operative word ^^^ is yet, yet the Bostom bombing happened, and I dont think it will be an en mass assault.  I think what we will see is more along the lines of the French attack, where they will go out and perform more decidedly pin point attacks.  That would have the ability to strike terror in the hearts and minds of wives, children and the old who will always be left feeling like no one could get to them in time to help.  However only time will tell, and like I mentioned earlier we will need to grow more aware of our surroundings and stay on top of our game.
  20. One of the things I keep on my key ring is a spark plug feeler gauge (dont ask my why) I just do and it comes in handy for several things.  Paper can become depressed if squished to tight, but the feeler gauge wont, you can pick one cheap at any parts store insert it bettween the block and the and barrel tighten the block down then you know it is set at the gap you want JMO good luck.
  21. the camps are real like some have mentioned, you can be skeptical, or believe, but they are there.  We can keep an eye on them, carry our cards close to chest and be aware of our surroundings.  I for one do not think along the line of them being a friend, their nature and background is so much more different than ours.  they have been waring with each other for years and to think that they want to live here and be our friends is total BS.
  22. some or most might not be interested but, there is a new player on the block that was introduced at shot show and had I seen it first I dont know that I would have bought the clamp on JP gas block.  But sundevilsales.com has it and is called the ADIGS, the adjustable drop in gas system and goes it to the gas block on the bcg, it is a few more dollars at 59.95 and no I dont have any affiliation with them.  But with it being able to sit on top of the bcg when needing adjustment it sure would seem like it would be alot more accessible than one mounted to the barrel of a rifle, I was thinking about replacing the one on my carbine with another like the one I bought for the carbine then saw this one and would probably go this route than with another barrel mount just for simplicity, and what also makes it nice is that it will work on 223/556-308 configurations, but again just my own opinion I am sure others would disagree.
  23. Gordon, I saw the one you built, are you still using that one or have you gone back to standard spring and buffer or are you strictly using AK's?  But back to subject still would like to know if anyone has used the law swivel with anything other than a stock buffer and spring?   Thanks
  24. To sort of resurrect this post for a moment, the Law is the only option then for the AR?  If so has anyone here used one on an AR as I am interested in how it works, I have seen the videos, but, I would like to install one on my pistol build so that it would fit in a back pack.  Just not sure if it would work with a JP scs, I thought that i had read that someone had used one just cant remember where, thanks for any info
