  1. This the jig I use, it is easier to set for clse cutting and straight cuts as well as spraying lube on to help the blade cut the brass, one I cut I chamfer and debir before sizing to make sure I am not introducing and particles into the dye.
  2. you have to eyeball and play with it a little to find the sweet spot with that Jig, I did use that one at first then bought the other jig that is offered by one of the other members over on 300blk site, the saw will work fine for what you are doing. What I also do is to take some hornady spray lube and spray the cases every now and then to help the blade with cutting the cases. There is also a kit available for the saw that has blades, belt, and set screw, or you can just get blades at HF for the saw. Hope this helps it just becomes trial and error.
  3. I am surprised no one else has looked at this, thought maybe it was or is a prank, but here goes, just read another article not to long ago about a situation just like this and the ruling was yes someone else could obtain the weapons for the purpose of selling them for the individual, can recall if it was a SCOTUS ruling or another court. maybe someone else can chime in.
  4. I like that avatar for oma sourkraut
  5. I'm kinda thinking I am all messed up, need to get a dna test done, most of my ancestry goes back to spain, but during the 1400 there was the ongoing migration of Jews to spain and we think that we have jewish blood, then on my moms side, they settled in New Mexico and mingled with Indians there, but cant locate records. And if you look at my sisters and my birth certs we were listed as white, that's what they did back then. But the bottom line is were American, even if others want to label us, therein lies the problem, people want to label others, when if born here from ancestry that goes back generations were Americans nothing else, cept the boxes you need to check on a form, and they only box that isn't there Human Race.
  6. road rage in the country who would have thunk it, people in Cali think they got it bad! They aint seen nothing yet. :)
  7. A few more subtle changes, the leather backing is quarter inch but I wanted a backing so I added a buckskin backing
  8. thank you for the tip I have watched some utube videos where guys are doing that and I forgot to do that, I am in the begining stages of building a vacuum chamber former where I will need to do that for sure. Thanks
  9. I used groon on mine, the 1st kydex and leather not completely done and ya learn from your mistakes!
  10. Looks nice what did you dye it with or did the leather come black?
  11. not to mention if your out kicken turds your gonna need to see your favorite manicurist a little more often.
  12. destruction of a good pair of boots sacrilegious , I can hear Ermy's words about people from Texas. Now they might not have been created in Cali but sure will end up there, especially after todays ruling, they and assless chaps will be the newest weeding gear to hit the streets.
  13. Cut out the backing for a kydex leather IWB holster, man was this stuff tough to cut, measures .250 for the leather alone, it is the 1st one with much tp learn.
  14. having reread your post I would go with 1/8 root pass as well you really never want to go to small in fear of lack of fusion, like I said above the root pass is the most important pass.
  15. having been a welder one thing you want to keep in mind is your welds, the root weld should be the deepest penetrating weld with the caps welds to top it off, if there is lack of fusion in the root pass the weld could fail, be particularly careful where the hitch goes, and make sure you do grind down to bare metal before all welds to ensure good joining of the metals. What is best to do is take 2 pieces of metal identical to what you are welding and practice by turning up the heat till you burn through then back off, and remember the heat will travel along the metal as you go along with the weld joint. Especially with a trailer that might pulled down the road, if it brakes lose you are liable for the damage it could cause. just me 2 cents enjoy your build but be safe.
  16. the rivets you see on freight trailers are called buck rivets and takes 2 people to do it, they are not done with a conventional rivet gun. However you could use a rivet gun but then you would have to use some silicone sealer in the center of the rivet to ensure its water proofing.
  17. my first batch of vinagroon is almost done and will be testing on leather later in the week, I also found a source for a piece ptfe to use as a base for making a vacuum system to use to form both leather holsters and kydex holsters, so things are moving along.  I just need to find out the status of the sewing machine that was purchased in Cali and being prepped to send out to me.
  18. Were you able to look up the 2 locations I shared?
  19. Ya leather can get very pricey, that's why I was looking for patterns from those that are willing to share, like some others have said there really isn't any Secrets. I think they just want you to go through some hard nocks to get to the end results. Right now I am searching for an answer to using magnets instead of snaps for the straps on holsters.
