  1. Took the pistolas out on Friday and ran a bunch of ammo threw the 9 and 45, and real happy with both, my wife fell in love with hers, I really enjoyed the 45, the only thing that does suck about them is the loader that comes with them. The loader could have been better designed, but it is what it is, I will need to pick up a different mag loader, and now need to make a holster for both. I have some leather lined kydex that I am itching to try out on the vacuum press, so will see how that goes.
  2. But will it work with all types of mags, if you follow the lead it was made for H & K mags!
  3. doing well and have been thinking about a get together as well, before the weather keeps us in for a while, I nominate you to pass the word for a gathering at a place that is gun friendly.
  4. That's what I am figuring as well, I cleaned it all up, lubed it, then loaded a 13 round mag to see how heavy it is and it is about the same as my 1911 clone so I didn't save any weight there but did save in space, so now on to make a holster then the range for testing. I be running a bunch of hand loads that I loaded up with the powder I got from David, should run well.
  5. PLEASE NO ASS SHOWING HERE, MY COMPUTER DOESNT LIKE CRACK, OF ANY KIND, PLEASE NO CRACK, PLUMBER OR OHERWISE. :):) :)
  6. an XD mod 2 9mm for the wife and a EX Mod 2 45 for myself, now need to clean them make a few holsters for them Kydex for now, then on to the range for some break in rounds then more cleaning and so the cycle begins for these. I wanted to get the nine for my wife so that she can carry a larger gun with her as she travels. She works for one of the larger hospitals in Nashville and has to travel a lot and at times gets back in the evening hours and want to make sure she can handle a threat. I bought the mod 2 for myself as well after having owned a XDS 45, I really liked that gun but let me son have it so I thought I would get the mod 2.
  7. well providing you didn't blow any head gasket or crack a head it could be as little as a water pump or bad thermostat, if you go to craigs list you might find a local mobile mechanic that would be willing to come to you and fix it, all be it for a price. Mobile mechanics are out there you just have to look for one, especially being a rural as we are here someone runs a mobile service, but ask for references if you have time to do so, good luck in your quest.
  8. Guns n archery also has a range owned by the right next door to the gun shop and has a gunsmith and much nicer people than gun country
  9. most likely nice job none the less, as I mentioned I really looking forward to me sewing machine, I have hand stitched a few things and really does a number on my hands but figure I will still have some areas that will need hand sewing that machine wont do.
  10. harbor freight has a clamp vise that can be clamped to any table, it is very similar to one I saw at lowes for about the same money and if you have 20% off coupon then save even more and you can take it anywhere any time pick that up and a few brass punches and your good to go! There is a HF on Riverside a few doors down from hooters.
  11. it doesn't look as though it didn't have a negative impact on the dye when you did it and the definition looks good, from what it shows in the photos, and the photos don't do the work any justice!
  12. I was very busy today and couldn't give the right answer, but yes the heat press is the one you pointed out, as for the vacuum table I have constructed it all myself with parts that I have put together, the vacuum pump was found on CL and I don't think the guy knew what he had, in that it is more of a scientific application, but had been abused and neglected. The pump brand new would run about 1800.00 to 2200.00 I got it for 75.00, but I have also had to put some work in to it and not sure how long it will hold up. But the good thing is that it can be rebuilt not like the cheap ones today. I an still going to use the compression press we had made up and probably redo it, but I am having fun, I cant wait for my sewing machine to show up. Thanks for the kind words
  13. Yes it is a press like that although I may still put together a regular press in fact we have one just no clamps we were standing up on it.
  14. Yes an RIA not yet fully broken invyet but shoots great, but the spring is a real beast.
  15. they look nice, did you water and hand form those? I am waiting on a sewing machine to come in from Cali to start my leather work, and will use the vacuum former to form the leather once everything is in place. Really looking forward to doing more with leather, plan on gun belts as well as holsters along with a few other items and hand stamping.
  16. Started the carbon fiber taco tonight
  17. Holster tonight but got to get to bed early so cant finish it the taco will be made out of carbon fiber kydex the mag holder is done in black and is a horizontal. Due to my just oversized and extended waist line I wanted to go with a horizontal, these were done using a vacuum table along with a heat press. photos to follow.
  18. There are several here on the board that can help you out with making a holster either IWB, or OWB, hybrid, full kydex I am here in town and can help out as well, Just some FYI.
