No I will post another photo later of the bottom, the guns trigger guard is exposed, however there will be a strut and belt clip installed on the front. The strut will sit just below the trigger guard area. Unless I miss understand your question.

Ban all knives? Dinner, lunch, or maybe just the assault knives! -
I wonder if Feinstein and others will be all over this, what is their saying, don't let a good tragedy go to waste?

I don't want to start a peeing match but if it is veg tanned and dry any major hilster maker would indicate that once it is worked it needs to have oil injected back in to the leather or it is going to dry out and degrade faster and sooner than later, but being the purist you are, I am probably wrong and you are right so the OP should figure it out on his own so that he cant come back and say so and so said to do it that way.

BigK if you go knifekits.com, or diyholsters.com or ifi.com you can find all of the hardware that you need to finish most any type Dex, or leather holster, as well as other projects you are working on Kydedexpro.com is another good source of info. I go there with some questions but some people there are quick to nock a newby for not using the search feature. Good luck

How to treat a homemade holster?
Ron Padilla replied to jgradyc's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
to add to the above, there are sealers made as a top coat that many of the top holster makers use that give a holster its nice sheen when done, they come in a gloss, or semi gloss finish, that is usually applied once the holster or any leather has been worked. 1st the finishing process would be the stain, or dye, neats foot oil, the top coat sealer. the sealer will prevent the dye, especially if it is an oil based dye, from rubbing off. Oil based dies are notorious for rubbing off. There are a few different companies that sell sealers, Tandy being one and, weaver is another their name for it is tuff kote, I have it in clear, another is Fiebings their name for it is Acrylic Resolene. All of these need to be applied with a damp sponge, a lot of pros use a damp sheep skin to apply it. You have to cautious when doing it as it will streak. And when done make sure you rinse out the tool ( sponge, sheep skin) with warm water. Hope this helps good luck. -
I hate to say this but I think the AG uses a pleather and not leather, I could be wrong, either way I DON'T think the N F will hurt and if it is leather it will only help.

How to treat a homemade holster?
Ron Padilla replied to jgradyc's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
The 1st question I have is where did you get the leather, the reason for the questions are that if it was scrap itay or may not have been treated, but one way to ensure it will last for a long time is to treat it periodically so that the leather does not wear out, if it has been staine with a color it could rub off unless sealed. Sealing it will ensure that it does not rub off and help keep the oils sealed in. -
The neats foot oil wont soften it that much in fact it will help it some and give it some more flexibility
-
it looks nice and good definition in the dex, I wouldn't use alcohol on the leather to try and remove the ink marks. From the looks of it the leather has not been treated with any neats foot oil, in the event it hasn't I would treat it with some, and it will have a tendency to darken the leather some and might hide the ink marks, or you might be stuck living with it.

Confirmed, 300 Blackout WILL run on black powder
Ron Padilla replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
the same thought crossed my mind, that it would be dirty as heck. But I guess, when the SHTF, and there coming to take them anything would better than none just to launch a few in the last few moments of desperation, or the oh well what could it hurt kind of moment. JMOSO -
some of the counties in Cali are starting to get with the program, but and of course there is a but, they still make a person jump through a stack of hoops to get a CCW. An old school buddy of mine called me the other day to as for recommendations for mag holders for the glock he has. I was surprised and asked him if he had his ccw and he said he did, but it took him 7 months to get it, and it is out of San Bernardino county and no L.A., so it can happen now he says he will carry 2 or 3 extra mags with him when he goes out.

Off of the pistol range today, I figure not bad for an old guy with tennis elbow, it starts to hurt after about 50 rounds.
-
had fun burned up a bunch of ammo more over on the pistol range ( not metal ) and over on the rifle range, glad I could help Ted out with loads I had to get his pistol working. Still need to work on mine, but got the carbine zeroed in AGAIN hopefully it stays that way through rifle season, but will check it again before we go out. So it sounds like we need another range day.
