  1. Yeah my speedsafe Kershaws have all had the spring removed. I prefer a manual flipper
  2.   I was lucky to get out of the DMV in Ohio for under $200... It was less than half that when I moved here.
  3. Avoid any of the carbide pull through types. They will hog up your blade in a hurry.   The lansky and smith's kits mentioned above are good and if you are merely touching up knives you can't beat a lansky turn box. I do 70-80% of my sharpening on one because I don't let them get very dull to begin with. http://www.amazon.com/Lansky-4-rod-Crock-Sharpener-LCD5D/dp/B000B8FW0E
  4.   I saw one at Academy Sports in Franklin a couple weeks back. They usually have em in stock.
  5. The only way you could buy a handgun out of state legally is to purchase it from the FFL at the show and have them ship it to a FFL in TN to do the background check and transfer.   BTW there's a gun show in Nashville which is much closer to you than Knoxville.
  6. You can send the water to a lab to have it tested but it's not cheap. The test at home kits from the supermarket are really not all that good and are a waste of money.   http://www.ntllabs.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=NTL&Category_Code=Homeowner
  7. I don't have a problem giving out zeros but I'm fighting an uphill battle in that regard. I had students turn in work from the 2nd week of school in April and I had no choice but to accept it. Turning in work late is a 'behavioral issue' and isn't a 'grade issue'.
  8.   I see this on pretty much every test or quiz I give from 1 or 2 students. But they don't dare get their phones out in my classroom.
  9. It's entertaining. I've open carried in starbucks a couple of times.   I was living in a fairly liberal part of Ohio at the time to boot. It was hilarious
  10. Yeah this place is great!   If you are on here every night then you should jump in the chat room. Never know what we're going to be talking about!
  11.   Pretty sure she's also the one that thinks that Vietnam is still a divided country...
  12. That was a take down tranquilizer gun.   Barrel unscrews and the stock comes off for backpack carry by wildlife researchers.
  13.   Yup and all those little bits add up in a survival situation.
  14. Maybe I'm lucky but I can tear my MkIII 22/45 down and have it back together in about 2 minutes.
  15. Be careful "Just Shooting" an animal in the state of TN. The govt tends to frown on such actions without a hunting license and if they wanted to push it, it's considered a 'gun crime'.
  16. I would normally say no to refinishing a stock but in the case of yours I'd say that's a wise way to go.
  17.   LOL   I used to live in Metro Detroit and still have lots of friends in the outlying cities so I keep up with developments up there fairly closely.
  18.   The Tigers The Lions The International Autoshow Woodward Dream Cruise Fox Theatre Fisher Theatre Detroit Gran Prix   All of those events and venues are in the City of Detroit
  19. It's not that Detroit is refusing to use the money for something other than the stadium, it's that they legally can't as a good chunk of it didn't come from the City of Detroit to begin with.   If you own a restaurant with your friends and suddenly you need to pay for hookers and blow but don't have the $ you can't just take money from the restaurant to pay off your dealer. You'll get thrown in jail for embezzlement. Same concept applies here.
  20.     Yup I live a couple miles from that place and only went in there once about a year ago. I saw the price of their products and left never to return.
  21.     I agree with this. I'm an out of state (Ohio) transplant and Middle TN is great! You can live outside of Nashville but be in town in 15-20 minutes to fly anywhere in the world (International Airport). Great culture, great food, great music (not just country) and a good group of shooters here!
  22. There's no good resolution to a situation like that other than what happened. Yes getting invaded and detained isn't a good situation, but no one died and at the end of the day and that's what matters.   That said, I hope they sue the crap out of the city (and I'm far from a sue happy person).
  23. Yeah, I was interested in the 82 till I read that they are Chilean imports that aren't being warrantied and are junk.
  24. Good prices. Too bad I'm in the wrong part of the state.   I would avoid the 82's though.   Chances are they are the same batch as these: http://www.gunssavelife.com/?p=1484
