  1. Got out early this am.  Took my buddy along in hopes to film a hunt.  WX was great today hunted till about noonish.  Going in was the adventure. Startled some dogs that need to go bye, bye!  They charged us, I didn't realize that I could draw from the hip that fast.  Didn't take a shot on them, they retreated as soon as I drew. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the morning.  All we that we saw were squirrels and chipmunks. Those nasty ol mutts must have ran deer all night long. The moon didn't help much either.  I swapped out the sd card when we left. Came home reviewed the camera. I see that I have a coyote problem as well.  So time to dial up extension .243 and 5.56.  Those things are going down!!
  2. Be wary about only seeing bears in cades cove. All bears above we on my family farm, less than a few miles from the appy trail. But, as stated above, I would worry more about two legged critters than bears. Unless you got in between a momma and her cubs, then you will have problems.
  3. Yup feels awesome! Im as far east as you can go. Some of our property is only a few miles from the Carolina line. I have been lucky to grow up in such a pretty county. I've traveled all over, but im always thankful to come home.
  4. It has been getting in the 40's here in upper east tn at night. Cooler on up the mountain. Im sure the deer love it, I know I do!
  5. I agree with you on them relying on each other. Im like you. Im ready to get in the stand. I did some tidying up on mine today, just double checking things. With this cool snap (hope it sticks around) it should get them moving more during the day. My only concern is the amount of acorns. They really have no need to travel far from the bedding areas.
  6. Well with a rack like that, he should have no problems laying down the law. Or at least set ground rules. On the turkey and deer issue, ive seen them travel together often. They may not be best buds, but I see them in very close proximity to one another.
  7. They followed each other around through the end of the season. I have a few more pics just like this. Very strange.
  8. At first all you see is this big ol bear. Look in the background and you will see daddy. I have never seen a deer and a bear travel together. I estimate maybe 15 yards between the two.
  9. I don't think he changed all that much from velvet to all bone. Still a nice looking buck. This is daddy. He only shows up a few times a year. Mostly during rut. And he is almost entirely nocturnal. I think I have a few pics of him in the day light. This is his brother or son. Either way only a 6 and he's huge. Again, mostly nocturnal. These last two pics were from last year. Hope they make a mistake and get love crazy one day and hopefully, ill be there to capitalize.
  10. There will also be a P51 at the tri with the bomber through monday. I am going to head out there Monday on my day off and take a look at some awesome history,
  11. I just purchased my first ar at the first of the month. I bought a bushmaster carbon 15 with a el cheapo red dot for around $750 including my back ground. This being my first I wanted a complete one. My next one will be built by me.
  12. Here are a couple still in velvet. Should be seeing some bone soon.
  13. Thanks, me too!

  15. They are a sight to see for sure. Once I figure out how to post pictures ill show some bears and deer.
  16. Have any of you ran across any bears before the season starts? I had one destroy a camera last year. I'm looking forward to the early bow hunt for bears. I missed a huge one last year. I had never seen one that close and got " bear feaver" and shot over the big boar.
  17. Checked out my cameras today and boy what a week makes! The acorns have dropped like crazy, and the velvet has come off! It has been years since i have seen this many acorns. Honestly, I can't walk without stepping on them. I found tons of rubbed trees and tracks like crazy. Had nearly 500 pics in a week! Looking forward to season starting.
  18. Maybe he shouldn't take any more royalties from the boonedock saints if that's the way he feels.
  19. Today I went out to our properties to reset the cameras for the coming season. Besides the absolute monsoon that I got caught in, this was a productive day. Really looking forward to this season!
  20. An East Tennessee doctor treating Ebola patients in West Africa has just returned home after being evacuated by the aid group he was working for. He is currently in Morristown. Prior to this he was working in the same hospital Ebola unit as American Dr. Kent Brantly, who is now fighting the deadly disease himself in Liberia. Ran this tonight on the 11pm news
  21. Im ready for the season to start. I've been seeing a lot of deer out in the fields and along the roads at night when im going home from work.

I own several. I used them last year and killed 3 birds myself and called in 4 birds for some friends. This doesnt count the jakes I called in or yhe one I missed lol. The owners name is Jimmy Schaffer.[/quote] Do they have a website? I can't go this year due to work.
