  2. Thank him for all of us. My youngest leaves for Parris Island in June
  3. All right guys again I want to think all that have responded to this post. and I would like to make a couple more comments. (1) We all know that the tag light was a piss poor reason to pull him over. That still does not give the officer any reason or right to walk up an tell him to get out of the car and frisk him. Then say give concent or get a ticket. (2) When he was with his friend, in his friends car and they were pulled over for a "car matching the discription" then told to step out and both was frisked. The officer never looked at the car. Both of these cases is some "want to be" officer looking for a score. ASS CLOWNS like this is what give good police officers a bad name.... Now I still tell both of my son's to obey the law and to be courteous and respectful to the officers
  4. +1 for Floyd's best deal in the Smokeys. A Great place to eat that does not cost a arm and leg is Mels Dinner in Pigon Forge. You can also stop by Bass Pro Shops and maybe-just maybe you might find some ammo.
  5. Guess I got a big debate started, First I want to think all that commented on this thread. And yes I am trying to get up to date information so he and I are not misinformed. The question was about being searched at a traffic stop. I AM NOT TAKEING UP FOR MY SON OR ANYONE ELSE. Ya'll say "Probably Cause" gives them the right to search a person. So if they think that they have probably cause to pull you over that automatically gives them the right to search you?
  6. He only gave them permission to look in the car after he got out and was searched. If they were really looking for that car they would called for back-up I respect the law and have the deep respect for the officers {that dersirve it} and the job they do for the little pay and political B*S* that they have to put up with. About 15 years ago I worked for a LE Organization so I know the little excuses that is used to pull someone over. I just wanted to know when it became acceptable to search someone for no reason hopeing to find something.
  7. This is a couple of incidents that happened to my son a few months back. He has NEVER been any kind of trouble and is always respectful of his elders. I have always taught him to respect the law, but when things like this happen it is hard. The first was in Athens Tn, he was with a friend that was pulled over for having a car that "looked like one they were looking for" The officer told them to get out and put their hands on the car and searched them then searched the car. Told them they could go. { 1 officer} The second incident happened in Charleston Tn. He was pulled over on the river bridge for a "Tag lumination light" being out. Also told to step out and was searched. Then was told if he gave permission to search the truck he would not get a ticket for the "Tag lumination light" being out. Had to sit on the bridge for a hour. {2 officers & 1 trainee} My questions are. Since when can you be searched for no apparent reason? Is a "tag lumination light" being out against the law? If you dont follow their orders to do these, is that failure to comply?
  8. How long ago?
  9. Just try reading this without laughing till you cry!!! Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife. A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Tazer for their anniversary submitted this: Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse- sized tazer. The effects of the tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety....?? WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button and pressed it against a metal surface at the same time; I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what that burn spot is on the face of her microwave. Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two triple-A batteries, right? There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong? So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately y on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and tazer in another. The directions said that a one-second burst would shock and disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; a three-second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting the batteries. All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference; pretty cute really and (loaded with two itsy, bitsy triple-A batteries) thinking to myself, 'no possible way!' What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best.. .? I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side as to say, 'don't do it,' reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny little ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad. I decided to give myself a one second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and . . HOLY MOTHER OF GOD . . WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION . . . WHAT THE HELLO!!! I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs? The cat was making meowing sounds I had never heard before, clinging to a picture frame hanging above the fireplace, obviously in an attempt to avoid getting slammed by my body flopping all over the living room. Note: If you ever feel compelled to 'mug' yourself with a tazer, one note of caution: there is no such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by a violent thrashing about on the floor.. A three second burst would be considered conservative? IT HURT!!! A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. The recliner was upside down and about 8 feet or so from where it originally was. My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs. I had no control over the drooling. Apparently I pooped on myself, but was too numb to know for sure and my sense of smell was gone. I saw a faint smoke cloud above my head which I believe came from my hair. P.s... My wife, can't stop laughing about my experience, loved the gift, and now regularly threatens me with it! If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!

  20. Did see a first for me in southern gunshows, the Klan had a table. Not so sure I liked seeing that. I've been to a lot of show's in Tenn and Ga. But that's the first time I have ever been to one that had a "Klan" table. {Kinda of odd that he set up as near to the black feller as he could.} IMHO is that there is already enough crazys out there trying to get rid of guns, that things like this just and fuel to the fire.
  21. Gonna hit it and may just cruise on up to K-town and check that one out also. Then go to Dalton on Sun. Just make a weekend of it
  22. Charlston Heston's gun room is on page 4 of that post. It has been posted here before, this time it has two new picks of the "back room". I like the flame throwers, and the shooting range across the hall
  23. Another to be envious of. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=41&t=264521
  24. Why does all the Political trouble makers label themself "Rev" like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan. I was brought up with a completely different interpretation of a Reverend. Also when MLK was traveling around in the 60's with Jessie on his coat tails, who put the bill for all of that. Not the poor blacks in the south.
  25. Thats my thoughts exactly. This thread got a little sideways, I just wanted ya'll thoughts on why people put [hyphenated country]-American. I can only think of two that do it. {1} African-American {2} Mexican-American. But this thread has brought another question to mind.....New Thread!
