  1. I will try if I can get my wife to leave work soon. Thanks
  2. Which Walmart in Chattanooga?
  3. I was under the impression I could buy a long gun from some out of state and not go through an FFL, but a pistol had to. I live in Chattanooga, and I thought I could go to a gun show in Dalton and buy a rifle or shotgun from an individual. That is not the case? I have not done it, but I have seen some things I wanted to buy at shows out of state. Possibly found an answer. It appears I can buy a rifle from a ffl out of state, but not a pistol unless it is shipped to a ffl in my state and I get it there. That is pretty stupid.

  5. Just made the call, been calling once a week for the last couple. My wife and I filled out the Apps and got fingerprinted on Nov 2, now on the list to be issued. Getting close to the Wally-Walk:x:
  6. I was there the first day the City of Chattanooga started clearing the land. This was in Mid May 2008, WAY before the VW plant was public knowledge. That area was all woods and hills. There has been a TON of work there. I setup an IP camera with a Cellular connection so that the all the VIP's would be able to watch the land get cleared. I was told about it Tuesday afternoon and I had a working streaming video solution working by thursday night. In an area with no power and no networks. At one point, I swear there was at least a couple miles that were cleared and flat in every direction
  7. I rode motorcycles with him a few times. He actually taught my my older brother and sister in high school. He showed them the check from where he sold Carrie...
  8. Welcome MaineMan. I lived in Bangor right behind Dysarts Truck Stop for 25 years, until Christmas 1990 before moving south to go to school. I fell asleep and putting a Getchell Bros Ice/Ice Cream truck in the woods just north of the first Newport exit, Headed south from Bangor. That cost me my job. I loved it up there, the change of seasons, the rocky coasts around Bar Harbor and Schoodic. Had Tons of fun riding from Sugarloaf Mountain to the Canadian Border. That area had 1 police officer that you drive by on that road. If he was home you had 26 miles to the border with no crossroads or houses. The statute of limitations is up now, but my best time across it was just over 15 minutes :-) I love the Whitetail and moose up there. When I moved down here I would see deer on the side of the interstate and think to myself, why are the deer so small? From what I know, here you can get more than one deer, so they go by quantity instead of quality. It is great down here. In Chattanooga, the "feel" is just like Bangor, just 5-6 times the size. Not as "artsy" as Portland. Summer is WAY Hotter here. Basically the high in Bangor is the LOW here.. Tomorrow's foresact is 41/72 and in Bangor it is 30/50. This is a great site. and a great bunch of people. Oh yea, Tennessee women are FINE. My northern born and raised ex divorced me in 95 and I lucked upon a gorgeous southern bell who loves me, married me, and puts up with my baggage. Welcome to TGO.
  9. My wife and I just did the paperwork and fingerprinting on Monday. We are counting the days. At our jobs, we have access to TBI data so we had to have full TBI background checks that from what I was told are more extensive than the handgun check. I believe they re-check us every year or 2. I was wondering if because of having "current" checks, if our wait will be shorter than normal. Anybody have any thoughts or insights?
  10. I am going to play devil's advocate a little here. I wonder if US Airlways is getting an insurance payment for the crashed airplane from AIG? I personally would have taken the $5000 and been happy also, but if that did not cover my losses and or medical bills I believe the insurer should cover them. Not to make anyone rich, but cover the expenses and losses. If I am driving my car with someone in it with me and a deer runs out in front of me and I hit it, I would expect to have my insurance pay for the car repair, and for any medical treatment needed by my passenger up to the limits of my insurance coverage, and then I would be liable. The same should be the case for Us Airways and its insurance company AIG. It was not my fault the accident happened, but the passenger was in my car under my "control" so therefore I would have some liabililty
  11. Take a look at www.rimfirecentral.com This forum has all sorts of information about rimfires in general and the 10/22 in particular. You can do your own trigger job for free. Really good information
  12. Doh:doh: I was thinking of the Hunter road one. I'm not a member there but have been there with friends. The gun show was PACKED.. I'll go back to my corner in shame.
  13. The one by the gate is 500. The benches by the road to the pit are at 200 and farther up the hill towards the gate is the 300 benches
  14. I think Obama/Pelosi/Reid are ALL working on a "gun ban" of sorts. They are trying to take and spend so much money that we citizens are in effect banned from guns by not having enough funds left over to buy them.
  15. What about carrying in a restroom/outhouse in a camping area in a national park? They could argue that was a federal building because it was a national park owned building...
