  1. I will probably be there on Saturday
  2. I REALLY wanted one until I held one at a recent gunshow. I am fat and have fat hands, and there did not seem to be enough beavertail to keep my hand from getting a slide bite. Has anyone run into this with there XDs? I hope with the replaceable backstrap, that someone will incorporate a larger beavertail that is part of backstrap and and held in by the grip safety pin.
  3. I have a question, what app or website does everybody use for comparing prices? I have used Bud's, Gunbroker, Cheaper than Dirt and CDNN's websites
  4. Thanks to everybody for answering. I really appreciate it. That is what I thought, but I was not sure, so I had to ask. Again TGO comes through with great information.
  5. At a gunshow awhile ago I noticed there was a dealer from Kentucky at a show in Tennessee, I have also noticed Georgia dealers at TN shows and TN dealears at GA shows. As a TN resident, I know I can not purchase a handgun from a GA dealer at a gunshow in TN or GA with out having a TN FFL handling the transfer. I know I can not purchase from an out of state resident without an instate FFL doing the transfer. Here is the basic question with variations following: Can I as a TN resident, purchase a handgun from a TN FFL who is at a gunshow in GA, with the normal paperwork and TBI background check? Could I purchase a handgun from a GA FFL at a show in GA, have it transferred to a TN FFL who is also at that show and then take "delivery" of the handgun from the TN FFL while still at the gunshow in GA? Can I as a TN resident purchase from a current TN Resident who at that particular moment is physically in Georgia? Does the physical location of the sale matter or is it just the residency of the 2 sale participants? As an example, I know someone who works in Dalton GA and lives in Chattanooga. He works in Dalton with a guy who lives in Cleveland TN. Could the Chattanooga TN guy sell a gun to the Cleveland TN guy while on their lunch break in Dalton GA? I have not done any of the above, nor do I know anybody who has, but living right on the border with GA, and knowing about the huge gunshow that is coming up in Atlanta in September with 2000 tables, I would like to know the legalities of these particular situations. Thanks
  6. That was awesome. I literally laughed out loud. At work.
  7. Jonnin, which club are you a member of, and how much is it a year. I have talked to my wife about both of us trying something like this?
  8. What is the price going to be for the Smithy and any tooling?
  9. I am at this show now. It is quite a bit better than the last one. Probably 75% gun vs less than 50% last time. Still the same issues with prices. Quite a few people walking with stuff for sale.
  10. That would be a good assessment. It is the biggest in Chattanooga, but much smaller than the Expo or Chilhowee in Knoxville, and at best the same size as the show at the Fairgrounds in Nashville. I have been taking a buddy of mine to a bunch of TN shows in the last couple years and that is what I found. The Armory show in Chatt is about the same as Camp Jordan and the Shriners Temple show has gotten quite a bit smaller than it used to be. I will be there on Saturday, possibly at a table. Hickok45 make sure to take I75 south at the split and take the first exit. Then stay in the left lane on the exit ramp. Take a left at the end of the ramp across the interstate overpass. I believe the turn into Camp Jordan is the first turn to the left after the bridge.
  11. I like Pie, just a point to ponder. I lived in Maine for 25 years. There is no way I would use a 25-06 or a 243 for Moose hunting. Anything else east of the Mississippi, ok. Look at page 33 in http://www.maine.gov/ifw/licenses_permits/lotteries/moose/pdfs/2011_Moose_Hunters_Guide_FINAL_1September2011.pdf Just to give some facts about Moose [h=3]MOOSE FACTS[/h]Life span: 15-25 years Male moose weigh about 1200-1500 pounds Female moose weigh more than 900 pounds Newborns are about 33 pounds and will be 300-400 pounds by its first winter Average Body length: about 8.5 feet Average Height: 6-7 feet at the shoulders The record Moose: Maine's State Records Moose (Bull) 1,330 Ibs., field dressed, Willard & Sterling, Waterman, New Gloucester, ME, 1982, Marsardis.
  12. Just for curiosity sake, what is a rough price to get a NFA trust setup with an attorney, and also with a dealer setup trust?
  13. That is what it takes for both my wife's and my bodyguard 380's
  14. Well, my 2 step-daughters go to their dad's on the weekend and he is stubborn and only has TV over the air, all 3 channels. The girls take their laptops and cell phones and connect the laptop to the internet through the phone and then log into netflix and watch movies and tv they want, while their dad watches fuzzy abc....
  15. If you think 12 is bad, wait until you get to 14. 300 yards with the 7 second popup and put 2 in each target... Made the 250 yard one seem easy.

    bodyguard 380

On Feb 26 I bought one from Benton Shooter's for $334 + tax and tics. $404 out the door with a spare mag. I bought the last they had, but they told me the have been getting about 5 a week in
  19. The Chattanooga City code, ordinances, and resolutions are on the City of Chattanooga website at City of Chattanooga. I did a search of them and I did not see any thing that indicated it was banned by city ordinance like the employee stated. Maybe somebody with better google skills can find it
  20. That brings up a good question, at least to me. If I go to the Academy Sports that is on the Hamilton Place Access road and buy a gun, am I in jeopardy of getting kicked off Hamilton Place property etc as soon as I walk out the door of Academy Sports on my way to my car?
  21. I wonder what Mr William F Burch would do if he was asked to be personally, financially, and legally responsible for your safety while banking, and would he provide a signed notarized letter on corporate letterhead indicating that.
  22. Is it just me or should there have been a roughing the passer call on the sack when the 3 Pitt defenders got Young, lifted him up, jumped up and then tried to drive his head into the ground. I think for the rest of the time he was in Young was seeing double after that
  23. I hope you get it back. I hate when someone close to you, a friend or family member, steals. Do you have any pictures in case we see it a a gun show?
  24. I bought one for my wife last Thursday at Academy Sports on 153 in Chattanooga, it was the only one they had. I got it for $429.99 plus tax and tics. We have not had a chance to take it to the range, but she loves how it fits in her hand. The build quality seems very nice. I do wish the trigger pull was more like the Taurus TCP I got for myself a while back. THe Bodyguard is pretty long and a lot heavier that the Taurus, but it does offer double strike capability that the Taurus does not.

Just for grins and giggles, that would be fun to use for a handgun carry class...
