  1. While on the topic of CCA. who is that genderly confused person working there? Seriously.
  2. I'm going stock. Remington 870 Express Magnum 28" bl Sight: factory steel bead Remington turkey choke Ammunition: Winchester Super X 12 ga 3 in 1 7/8 oz #6 shot I just hope to get a chance to take one this year.
  3. I signed up a couple of days ago and didn't realize that there was a "meet and greet" section. I live in Knoxville. Got the site info from the Volunteer Glockers forum on GlockTalk. Firearms I have now: Remington 870 12ga Glock 27 Ruger P345 Browning A-Bolt 30-06 Im excited about a TN specific forum and look forward to the time spent here. Anyone else from Knoxville, give me a PM
  4. I noticed your screen name. I, too, am a huge glock fan. Do you ever frequent GlockTalk?
  5. For the best prices in Knoxville, that I have found, are Coal Creek Armory and Guns and More. Frontier Firearms in Kingston is a down home shop full of stuff. There prices are around $20-30 more than the other 2 shops mentioned but there customer service is head and shoulders above the rest. Last time I went in there, just to look, it was early morning and I was the first customer of the day. They offered me coffee, coca cola, etc. It is a family run business and I like that. if you want to save a few bucks and go with one of the others, I would suggest Guns and More. Their prices are about identical to CCA and their customer services is a bit better. Still nothing to write home about.
  6. Turkey season is fast approaching. I tried last year for the first time and didn't come close to getting anything. Where are some good places in east TN to hunt? Last year I went to Royal Blue WMA and saw quite a few but never got one close. I will probably end up back there again this year if something better doesn't come along.
  7. Now that the Smoky Mountain Sportsmans Club has closed down, I don't know where to go shoot clays. The only other place I know of is the John Sevier Hunter Education Center and they run weird hours which don't make it too accessable for me. Benton Shooters is really nice but it's also a good 50 miles away. I don't know anyone with land so my options are kind of limited. Does anyone know of anywhere else in the area to go that I haven't discovered yet?
  8. I found this site by someone mentioning it on GlockTalk. They have a forum called "Volunteer Glockers" so I check it out every so often. Most of those folks are from west TN. I just thought I'd sign up and say hi.
  9. I took my HCP class about a year ago. Sgt. Mike Lett, Armorer for the Knox County Sherriff's Dept, teaches a class about once a month at the Sherriff's Dept's indoor range. It is an 8 hr class and cost $85. You can get information for his classes at Guns and More and Gander Mountain (those are 2 places I have seen the handouts). He teahces a good class. There is a powerpoint presentation and then range time. It will probably be your only chance to shoot at that range and it is REALLY nice.
