  1. I'd get a second opinion before any surgery. Part of being old also comes with the "don't get over surgery quick" clause.   I know what you mean though. About a year ago sometime informed me I was balding... I had no idea.... then immediately I noticed my rotator cuff is hurting, my knee pops and I now have a hiatal hernia!!!   Better get that 401k rolling......jeez.
  2. The view from my desk. Ever watchful...
  3. Riding Leathers: because it's easier to walk away in disgust than to ride away in an ambulance.
  4. If the M1 Garand were the last piece of American history left in this country, we'd still have a rich history! :usa:
  5. I bought a full suspension on craigslist a few years ago because my buddy said he wanted to trail ride and I was all about it! Turns, we didn't agree on what "trail" meant. Mine was dirt and hills. His definition was "green way". Ever try to keep up with road bike while you're on a full suspension? It ain't easy....
  6. I love the phrase "piles of rifles".  :)   I just imagine these giant heaps like they find in those afghan caves and weapons caches.
  7. I'm a cub scout leader for my son's pack. If I ever heard any of my boys talking about sex AT ALL I'd be having a chat with their parents. It's got no business in the pack.
  8. lol, EXACTLY what I thought
  9. I've always had the prepper mindset but not really so much the drive to stockpile. So typically I bought what I planned to shoot and moved on. Obviously since the scare I've been stockpiling, but I only buy at somewhat normalized prices. I've managed to scrape up about 1,200 rounds of .223/556 at an average of 42 cents a round... not terrible, considering. I've made the decision that I won't ever let myself get under 1,000 rounds again.   My other calibers... well, I can't afford to buy ammo daily.. so I started with the one caliber, got to my happy point and now I'm on to 9mm. Only have 400 rounds at the moment but at least when you do find it, it's 50 to 100 at a time vs. 20 here and there. next it's .45.... then it's 7.62x54r then on to 7.62x39... 22.. and so forth.
  10.   I grew up an only child and glued to my Nintendo (explains a lot right?) but I make sure that my kids stay active. Scouts, soccer, baseball, day camps, etc. But since their old man is a techno junkie, they certainly know their way around the gizmo's. I had to force feed technology to my wife however. That and guns :)
  11.   shut up and take my money!
  12. Kids are amazing. My daughter will be 2 in July. Yesterday i witnessed her pick up my wifes iphone, press the unlock button, use the slide unlock on the screen, scroll through the pages until she found the gallery, launch it and then showed off pictures of us to everyone in the room and called us by name.   meanwhile my 6 year old thinks brushing his teeth is "boring".   sigh...
  13.   Yeah but he just bought the rifle. Slather some on the internals and bushmaster/LGS may very well say it's been tampered with. Best to let them make good on it and save this trick for 3 years later when it's acting up.   ***edit*** can't type!
  14.   After that, I think I need a napkin....
  15. Probably a bad contact point so when you shoot the battery or connector shifts and off she goes.
  16.     Looks to be the "Northlander Felling Axe" $320   http://www.neemantools.com/en/products/axes
  17.     They ought to pin a medal on the guy who called for the pledge as the first order of business. I actually got a little amped up seeing all those proud American's pop up and do their duty.
  18.   Oh i'm sure you're right. I was just trying to rationalize it because I don't understand that level of stupid.   edit***   Also, wish you guys were closer to Nashvegas. I need a good friendly group shoot.
  19. I haven't gotten into reloading yet (unsupervised) simply because I haven't done my homework and I don't want to cause death or dismemberment of me or anyone around me. This guy however, sounds like a complete greenhorn who had the capital to buy guns and gear at the onset of the AWB panic and then attempted to "wing it". Let's just pray that his pissy attitude was just a defensive response because he was scared and embarrassed as hell. Lets also pray that he winds up shooting himself before he accidentally kills someone else.
  20.   I bought the Lula at Dicks (I know.. I know) for $20 and then later saw the StripLula. I thought about getting one but I've already got the other. But i'm sure i'll wind up buying one sometime soon :)
  21. I love my Maglula Uplula, I even bought myself a Maglula Lula for the AR. Lulalulalulalula.... lula
  22. speaking of scratching it up, you got that $1,200 optic laying on a deck :D
  23.   That's kinda what i was thinking vs. a "build". It's a beautiful rifle though for sure.
  24. Here's some more.   http://gigapixelphotography.com/vancouver-yaletown-condos/   If you look around enough you'll find a rather attractive gal in her skivvy's :D   There's a gallery at the top right after the hop
