  1.   This is where I'm at precisely. I don't suggest you change careers however, that's a lot of time and experience lost my friend... It would be hard to make the same salary as a newbie doing something else. You can always do the same type of work for someone else and have it feel like a completely different experience.
  2.   So recruiters/head hunters typically sign a contract with a business. That contract basically says, "we find you candidates that meet your requirements. You go through us exclusively (sometimes) and you pay us X amount for doing so." That being said, they get paid when you get hired, so you have to pay attention to what jobs they are bringing you. Lets say you want full time work and to make 90k but they keep offering you contract work at 50k..... then you're dealing with the wrong guy who only cares about his paycheck and probably has no decent connections. There's plenty of firms out there so you can certainly contact more than one. My suggestion.. use a recruiter when you already have a job that you can tolerate until the recruiter can find you something you genuinely want. It's OK to do so while you're unemployed, but at that point you're probably going to wind up in whatever gigs they throw at you for need of work. The good news is 1.) you don't have to accept and 2.) you don't owe them anything!
  3.   It is, I'm respected at my current employer and I love the people. It's actually out of their hands because it's the corporate holdings company (my actual employer) who've forced my hand. But I look at it this way... I went on 1 interview and found something I wanted. If it doesn't work out... at least I'm in demand!
  4. When I did mine I sanded it down, wet the wood, put a wet wash cloth over it and put a hot iron on the cloth until it stopped hissing (rinse, repeat). It did a great job. JUST DON'T DO IT ON ANY OF YOUR MARKINGS!!!!!!!!! The iron will suck the dents out of the wood so you'll destroy them.
  5. I grew tired of the bickering and petty nature of my business. Coming home every day stressed out. 34 years old and way to much gray hair to count. Life shouldn't be like that in my opinion. So I threw my resume off to a recruiter and PRESTO... less than three weeks later I've accepted an offer with a better title, pay, cheaper benefits.. and it's just right up the road!   Now, changing jobs as a family man is stressful in itself. It worries me that I'm leaving the enemy that I understand for the one that I don't. But honestly I feel like Peter from Office Space here with one week left to go. Think I'll leave early today and go clean my new gun :)   Fellow TGO'ers If you're overworked and overstressed, please don't drive yourself to an early grave. You weren't put on this planet to watch the bottom line of someone else's riches! At least not for someone who doesn't appreciate it. There's always something better out there, you just have to look.

    Caving

If you're into caving, you should check out Mammoth, Cumberland caverns and the lost sea. It's obviously been a few years, but back when I was a Boy Scout we did some of the wild tours which required overnight gear and a helmet. Very cool stuff. These weren't your standard walking tours either. I can remember having to lay on my back to slither into a gap, then roll end over end pushing my pack ahead of me to progress.   On the opposite end of the spectrum, they also offer oil lamp tours etc which are still pretty cool. Last time I did that there were people well into their 70's in the cave.

    Caving

This looks like a cave in Cedars of Lebanon I've been in.   Just be sure to watch your footing and let someone know you're going. Real easy to slip and break a leg or something.
  11. I have to agree, I'll never get rid of mine   https://shootersmagazine.com/cz-p-07-duty-the-best-pistol-nobody-knows-about/
  12. http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/08/16/walking-dead-deleted-scene-lori-zombie-season-3/   Nothing major but I disagree with his reaction completely.
  13. They've already back pedaled on this, realizing how quickly people were turned off. Now Kinect will come with it but be "optional".   I won't ever see any of these free games because my xbox red ringed. I refused to pay $100 to get my relatively new Xbox repaired just to have it red ring again. I refused to buy another one because I only needed a 20gb hard drive but the newer nicer xbox only had 4gb.... so I would have had to pay for the 250gb version for ANOTHER $100 OVER THE ORIGINAL PRICE.   Microsoft, I present you my middle finger. Good day to you.
  14. Anyone remember when the first iphone came out? Man I feel old!     only kidding old timers :)     I can remember carrying my sweet little two year old niece on my hip they day I got married. Just saw her the other day at her 18th birthday party...... AND SHE HAD A TATTOO!!!!!
  15. I can promise my initial reaction would be a violent shiver followed by a short sprint before I stopped to assess. That same heeby jeeby you get when you realize there's a big bug on your neck.
  16. Don't think I want "Bea Arthur naked" in my search history. :)
  17. Yeah I didn't imagine it was you. But, the look is priceless!
  18. There's more fact in this photo than in the one tanker found. For the record, that's Bea Arhtur wrestling down a Velociraptor
  19.   A 70 degree night, overcast with a light breeze. Tack on distant thunder and loon calls.... I could listen to that forever.
  20. I'm gonna have to side with TMF on this. While I can appreciate the view on kids and meth... comparing this to sex with a sheep is a bit of a stretch. Hate it for what it is, not for what it isn't.
  21. You usually do good work spots, but these are my favorite thus far.
  22. Didn't watch TGO's own 50% tactical almost burning down a forest with one shot of dragons breath? :)
