1. Thanks for taking the time to post everyone. I feel more comfortable about it now.
2. Anyone used them to replace a windshield? My wifes 2011 maxima took a rock and it cracked. My insurance is recommending them.. which tells me it's cheap or they wouldn't.   Read a few comments online about distortion and cloudy issues below 70 degrees.   Anyone with experience? It's hard to pass up a $300 window.. but it's a really nice car and i dont want bad glass
3. i've been meaning to become a paying member forever now. I was thinking about it today in fact. 5 minutes later my wife calls me and a rock busted her windshield....   I'll get there soon enough.
4. Honestly, i don't think Windows 8 is nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It's different... that's why most seem to hate it.   As a gamer, i wouldn't use it at home for all the directx debacle... but i use a Win8 laptop for work every day (Sys Admin) and i have no issues with it.   As far as Linux... depends on how well you know Linux. If you're wanting a GUI and simple, there's always Ubuntu
5.   My buddy has a shadow, it's VERY nice. Much like you said though, it's pricey
6.   Oh no doubt, I'm just not a big clone guy. There's most certainly some very well made clones out there though.
7. I personally haven't heard anything bad about them. Every time I see one I pick it up. Then I put it right back down again thinking to myself "a hamburger is not a steak".
8.   and.. spoiler....
9.   THAT WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT!!!!
10. 1,000 posts on my favorite gun porn site on the web!   I came for the guns, I stuck around cuz of you SOBs. Thanks to you all, if I even say TGO, my wife rolls her eyes and changes the bank account password.   Here's to the next 1,000! hip-hip.....
11. dammit! This post should have had NSFW (Not Safe For Wife)... I think I'm gonna be in trouble.
12. I figure eventually we'll just wind up trading lead for what we need..... sad but probably true. ***edit*** but just in case (for fallout fans), i'm gonna start saving these...
13. Can't beat that man. I'd pay $600 for it. Grats
14. Death afterwards?   Challenge accepted.
15. I'm with ya TDR.... The first day I took out my new AR, my friends wife wanted to shoot it. She sat down and drug it across the bench. I nearly died and her husband blew a gasket.  Thank goodness it was a wood table....
16. Oh, the usual.   candy wrappers receipts from everything I've ever bought a few jackets I forgot to take inside old soda cans/disposable cups a jack some tools probably $500 in loose change rattling around everywhere I'm sure there's some early 90's CD's and cassette tapes in the glove box
17. This is funny, but... Well, there seems to be an absence of a certain ornithological piece.....  A headline regarding mass awareness of a certain avian variety.
18. Thanks but I think i'm good. I used it for the remainder of the evening and early this morning, no pops or crackles. I believe it was just crummy cheap 20 year old builders grade switches.
19. Bought myself a couple of new switches, the ones that light up in the dark. Sounds much better now. slightest amount of crackle if you go slower on the switch but that "pop" is completely gone now. I think that's got me taken care of. You guys rock as always.    I think most of life's problems can be answered on TGO.
20. Still rocking the feathered Camaro mullet. "It'll come back one day, you watch!"
21. That Nerf guns can support picatinny rail attachments! And visa versa! Also see: http://imgur.com/a/tTVsR Useful? No. Awesome? Oh yes.
22. I think i'm going to replace the switches and see what that does.   I don't get the wiring in this house at all. the one switch box has 4 wires going into it, it's a total mess. the other one has a ground wire that's not attached to anything.....

24.
don't ground the wire into the fixture's neutral and see what happens. may be an issue with the fixture itself having a short, this would tell you yes/no.
I thought about this. It will be Sunday before I can try it. I'll give it whirl!
25.
You didn't tie the green (ground) wire into the black (hot) or white (common) at the switch did you? If that's white and green connected at the wire nut (pop).
I did not. Thanks
