1. I like it. what did it cost you?
2. Big shock there right? That whole section of the world wouldn't know what to do with peace time. They've been killing each other since killing was invented....I doubt they'll ever stop.
3. I carry a watch to keep up with time. I carry my keys to operate my vehicle. I carry a knife because I may need to cut something. I carry a flashlight because I may need light. I carry paracord because I may need some rope. I carry a gun because there might be crazies.   tools, tools, tools.
4. Anyone notice that the homeowner had one a shirt that said FU*K on it?    "The news crew is here, better put on my good shirt"
5. I haven't seen them in flight since I was a kid. Guess the Smyrna airshow is this weekend. Should be a good time for me and the kids!
6.   That's exactly what I was thinking, lol
7. I've owned two USP's and i've shot a LEM 45c.   It looks promising but i'm kinda over H&k's prices....    I've no doubt about the build quality or reliability... but i can get that same level of reliability elsewhere for cheaper.
8. That post is classic. Always makes me laugh. If you enjoy that form of humor, check out the David Thorne posts on http://www.27bslash6.com/   This is one of my personal favorites. http://www.27bslash6.com/missy.html
9.   I'll do that. I have a book snob buddy who hated it because he said it was so far off. Usually he's pretty spot on, but you know how opinions go...
10.   No argument there. But somewhat lacking in realism :D
11. I enjoyed watching it in the theater. I did chuckle that they made the insurgents die to a single bullet but the Americans could take 5-6 shots before they even slowed down.
12.   I paid $189 for my Yugo in 2002. Ordered it through SOG magazine. My first gun in fact! I almost sold it not long ago seeing how much they had come up in value. But it's hard to let that first one go.......   I have an AR as well. I figure if SHTF I would just give my wife the AR and tote the SKS myself.
13.
Once again thanks for the input I believe I will just stick with my AR.
Dont get me wrong, I like my sks. Its clunky and rattles like marbles in a tin can, but its reliable. If you like 7.62x39 maybe take a look at a saiga or an ak. They make an AR chambered for it as well but I hear they dont like steel ammo...and the brass stuff was pricey last I checked.
14. Some tips on bubba parts:   I would avoid one with a scope mounted to the receiver cover (unless it comes with the original). I had one for a time, the fit seemed good but the scope would never hold zero. It also catches a lot of the force from the bolt flying back... it actually broke the windage off a leapers 3x9 i had on it. They make a buffer to stick in there, but.. meh.   The draganov style stocks are worthless. It moves the weight of the gun so far forward of your shoulder that you'll have to extend your other arm fully to hold it up. Not worth it.   Duckbill extended mags just make the gun heavy and impossible to shoot from prone without a bipod.   I got an adapter that allowed me to use AK47 magazines at one point, that worked well... but again, it was heavy and unwieldy.   At the end of the day it shot best in the original stock with the original parts.
15. Smart idea to learn on a magazine. Much cheaper to replace than a gun frame. I like it.
16. LOL, forgot to check TGO for a bit, suddenly it's ogrish.com all over again!
17. That stock has spacers to extend it. Saw one in Reloaders Bench a few weeks ago with 5-6, it was almost too long. ***edit***
18. I took his HCP class. Pretty standup guy. Here's to hoping the chump with the itchy trigger finger gets his....
19. Well, a crossbreed is certainly a good way to start.   I'd take some classes or put in some range time though if you're new to handguns first. Practice, practice, practice.
20. I don't know if i'm more impressed by the crossbow or that the school let her do that......
21. If she keeps doing her kegel exercises, eventually she'll be able to tote a Highpoint.
22. Bethpage is good area. Westmoreland (least when i was growing up in Gallatin) was known for drugs. Lebanon and Mount Juliet are nice but you may have a hard time finding several acres of land. Watertown may be an option, plenty of land but it's a bit of a haul.  Gladeville area has a small town feel but is close to the interstate. Hendersonville is pretty dense but a nice area. I wouldn't suggest anything between it and Nashville though.   Basically I would stay out of Davidson County. Wilson, Sumner are pretty good though.
23.   The Winds of Winter is supposedly due in 2015. But George doesn't like to talk about how the books are coming. He drops tidbits here and there however. I read that his publishers told him he needs to lay off the side projects though... he has a TON.   http://grrm.livejournal.com/ - occasionally he'll post some news here, among his other projects. In the meantime, you can read "A Tale of Dunk and Egg", very good books set 100 years before ASOIAF. There's also two chapters published online and If you download the "Wiki of Ice and Fire" app for mobile, you can get another chapter from The Winds of Winter which i'm sure you'll be happy to see. I won't say who's POV it is just because some may say "Well that tells me nothing bad happens to X".   My biggest worry is Roy Dotrice. He played the pyromancer "We do not deal in pig sh*t" on the show. He's also the narrator for the audio books. He's fantastic, but he's also 90 years old. Yes, 90. They already had a different guy read book 4 and people went berserk, so Random House audio brought him in to reread book 4. It just wouldn't be the same without him.
24. Vontar, i'm a little disappointed that you didn't use the photo I shopped of you wrestling the raptor  :)
25.   I have to imagine the one talking is supposed to be the Styr   ***edit*** I imagine IMDB holds that answer, but i'll just watch and see if they name him
