I have at least 100 stories just from my drive to and from Gatlinburg this past weekend, my favorite though:   I know there's a little blonde hanging out in my blindspot... she's been there for at least 3 miles. So I tell the wife "Hey, want me to prove someones an a$$hole?" She says "How?". I lift my left hand to the roof, point my index finger down and firmly depress the blinker to indicate left. Blindspot Betty hammers the gas pedal ensuring her pole position and proving once again how predictable people are.     ***edit*** I spellz gud

You'd think a guy who gained most of his fame by portraying a character having to survive in a world where being without a weapon is a death sentence MIGHT stop and think about what it would be like to live in a lawless world. Granted there's no such thing as zombies, but even the show should make you realize...other people are dangerous.   Things could break down fast.   I'm with you on this.   I would let my 7 year old shoot that UZI. Granted I would:   A.) Inspect it first and understand how the weapon functions B.) Fire it first to have a better understanding of the control C.) Have my arms around him supporting the weapon   I would be the one to pick it up. I would shoulder it on him. I would hold the weight. His role would be to look down the sights and squeeze the trigger. Then when it's empty, I would be the one to clear it and lay it back on the table.    Because I realize he's a kid and that I shouldn't expect that he's going to do everything the right way. Then when he's older, we'll see if he's more capable.   That instructor should have known better IMHO. But I wasn't there, so I can only speculate. But as a father... I want the instructor to instruct me... and I handle the kid.

My wife went to the bring up the garbage can one day and as soon as she touched the handle, a pack of wasps swarmed her. They were all around a pine tree we have, so i figured they were just near the area, so I went to check it out. I started to grab the trash can and "Did you check that door for heat?" popped in my head. So I booted the can.    For record, i can run faster than I thought...... they made a nest the entire width of the can under the handle.   I came back with two cans of 25' stream wasp killer and had myself a shootout. My neighbor came outside laughing because i was in the street shooting them out of the air while back pedaling away.   Didn't get hit!

  If I were there, i would have used the ninjy chop followed by the vulcan death grip. Then after that, follow up with a "sweep the leg Johnny". And then... the people's elbow.....   game, set, match

        We saw Ninja Turtles with the kids on Sunday. Guardians ruined it for us, but TMNT wasn't that bad. If you have to choose, please go see Guardians first, you won't be disappointed.

I always miss the good stuff. Seems like I only catch the "why was X kicked out" posts. I'm gonna need a PM from the next person who decides to go ape so I can watch the drama unfold.

Did a search for the movie title, didn't see any threads.   I collected comics back in the 80's and 90's, so I only knew the old Guardians....which frankly I didn't care for. Never saw the rebooted version of it from 2008, so I wasn't real excited when we decided on a whim to see it. We had free tickets....so how bad could it be?   I thought this movie was phenomenal. I've been to see it at the IMAX twice and I would probably go a third time. I loved everything about it from the characters, the visuals, the timing on the jokes (dance off bro, you and me) and the soundtrack was awesome, hah.    

    I started to make a David Carradine reference, but figured it was too soon.

I won't open carry in public simply because of the "he said, she said" aspect. How easy would it be for some sheep to panic about your gun, say something to you about it and when you tell them to mind their own business.... suddenly they feel "threatened". I'm sure some lawyer could spin it as you brandishing your weapon or acting aggressive. "Surely he understands that most people don't see guns and his behavior scared my client". Nevermind the fact that someone could just take it off your person... I know I'm armed, I don't feel the need to let everyone else know it. That's no offense against you OC folks, it's your right to do so... You also have the right to wear a mankini, but you shouldn't be surprised if someone starts snapping photos :)

If memory serves, nobody really knows who actually invented bitcoin. There's speculation but not a clear "that guy". Also I seem to recall that there's a finite amount, like eventually the algorithm or what have you will run out of coins to produce.   Basically nowadays you have to join up with a pool of other people to lend clock/gpu/etc cycles to attempt to unlock them. The conspiracy guy in me says you're lending your pc over to doing someones international dirty work.... sounds like a voluntary botnet to me. But i'm also somewhat ignorant as i never bought into bitcoin.
