  1. To conclude this topic, the owner took the jeep in for service. The mechanic's report shows that it was 1 quart low and says "advised customer that jeep has technical bulletins pertaining to oil consumption of these vehicles".    Regardless, I'm spooked and passing on it.
  2.   I took a crawl underneath with my flashlight looking for drips and runs. I didn't see anything at all. I told the owner this is a concern for me. He's due an oil change anyways so he said he would have it checked out for me.
  3. I've never seen a vehicle that behaved any different than what you just said. I was hoping it might be a jeep thing. I guess I could take it to a mechanic to see if it's been damaged. I really want it to work because it's very clean and he only wants $16,000 (Blue book value is $24,000) but not if the engine is jacked up.
  4. I'm looking at a 2010 Wrangler Unlimited Mountain Edition that's owned by a family friend with 76k miles on it. It's in great shape, drives well, 4 wheel drive works. Not a single pop clank or shimmy to be heard (trust me, I tried).   My only reservation is when I checked the oil. It had been sitting on flat surface, cold, for hours. The dipstick was almost bone dry after several re-dips. When I turned the engine on and let it idle for a minute, the oil is now about 1/4 up the dipstick. I asked the owner and he just said "yeah, that's how it does, it scared me the first time I checked it, but there's 7 quarts in there". He said that he's due a change on Tuesday and the Jeep dealership service sticker show's he's right over 3,000 miles.   Anyone ever notice this on a Jeep? Perhaps it's a quart low and that's not enough to register on the dipstick cold? I just don't want to buy this thing and find out it's burning oil. It's certainly not leaking out, I know where he parks it and there's not a drop on the driveway.   Also I realize we have a sister Jeep site, but I don't know those guys :)
  5. Bet you he filled in those serrations with caps lock ☺ As a man who knows nothing about the process or the amount work that took, I say it looks much better. I would have just bought a slide.
  6.   That's exactly what a racist homophobe would say!   :hyper:
  7. I'm not seeing what you're seeing from this article. In fact, the link suggests that it wasn't a home invasion at all. More like a dispute.
  8.   I mean.. Windows does regulate power, but in all honesty, if by some freak chance it DID blow it up... it was probably just a matter of time anyway.
  9. I can't claim to know all the differences between the MRAP's but I don't think this is it.
  10. If i'm not mistaken, I think they removed the top rail specifically for that reason. or maybe it's drilled/tapped but minus the rail? Not sure, I've only seen one through a glass case. It's "neat" but personally I wouldn't buy one just because I have to put my fingers near the muzzle to charge the thing!
  11.   I probably would have fired back "somebody has to take the ugly ones".
  12. According to his twitter, she was racist beforehand. So this is justice... right? amirite?
  13. Sure and rethinking it, you have as much right to post it as I have to not watch it. Saying I don't like it doesn't make mine the correct opinion.
  14. Honestly I would prefer this not be here as it serves no purpose besides watching innocents die and giving this moron what he wanted, views. No offense to you sir.
  15.   Well, they're filming live so it's kinda like talking to your CEO.. you're going to intentionally ignore everyone/everything around you to focus on that task. I have to imagine they're used to onlookers and people trying to get on camera. They probably sensed the guy was there in peripheral but didn't bother to look at him directly.
  16. I found the video the shooter made. I got part to where he first brandishes the firearm and thought "why are you going to watch this sh*t that he wants you to see?" and just turned it off.   Low life sack of sh*t.
  17.       I just snorted an entire mouthful of Sprite up my nose. My coworkers thought I was dying......   Fitty may remember me stopping him at the NRA convention, have gave me the insider track on his Dragons Breath video. We talked for a bit, nice guy. Credit where credits due, he certainly didn't let 1 arm stop him from doing what he loves.
  18. As quickly as this started happening, it stopped. No changes on my end, maybe something with Chrome. *shrug*

    New LC9S

They're good little guns. I helped a friend of mine pick one out for his wife and then taught her how to shoot it. WAY better trigger than the LC9   Make sure that you have the upgraded guide rod. Ruger did a voluntary recall/replacement for an issue with the rod now allowing full battery. Any riding of the slide would cause it. Called Ruger, they shipped me the part within a few days.   http://rugerforum.net/ruger-pistols/109483-new-lc9s-guide-rod-issue-fix.html   ***edit*** guy on the link shipped his whole gun, that wasn't necessary when I called.
  20. Bah, I just noticed I dropped this in handguns and not general.
  21. The video was posted earlier this year so apologies if it's a repost but I believe everyone should see this.   "Civil rights activist takes force and force scenario training to learn when to fire your weapon".   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRHCAUpdAc4
  22.   Yup and/or Alt+F4
  23.   Yeah the box is most certainly checked. Same result while it's unchecked. Strangely enough my other PC's are never logged out. Same version of chrome, same login. I presume it has to be related to this windows profile. Just not sure why.   I haven't yet deployed my google-foo, but I may have too.
  24. Took a quick glance and said aloud "Did he shoot that at his jeep??? Oh wait...... aaaaah, I see......"
