  1. I've ordered a set of extractors and left hand bits. Hoping those show up this weekend to test it with. In the meantime I'm gonna pick up a soldering pen locally.
  2. I never wanted a sub2000 until they got expensive. Go figure right? Definitely get the appeal of this S&W. Being able to leave an optic on is great for instance. For me though, i'm looking for a folding beater gun that i can throw in a box and use if i need it. So the cheaper, the better. When you start getting into $650-$700 range, then i start wondering why i'm not buying something nicer. #cheapbutnothighpoint
  3. that's the issue though. New scorpion, new mags. The old mags won't work on the new gun, but the NEW mags work on the old guns. Don't that just beat all? I should add that I never bought CZ's actual magazines anyways.... Manticore and Magpul did a better job
  4. Posting again to let everyone know that I'm bowing out, so this is still available. GLWS OP!
  5. Can I just get the firearm and the mags? If so, i'm in.
  6. So, obviously its complete and utter BS that you would get punished for someone breaking into your property... that's absurd. However.. I did hear the news report that something like 167 firearms were stolen from cars in Nashville in January. ONE FLIPPIN MONTH! So while I don't agree with it IN THE SLIGHTEST, I do kinda see WHY they would create a bill like this. Maybe assuming that the law abiding folks will do as they are told and, by proxy, not arm the criminal goon squad. However again... that's like making a woman wear a burka because, she might accidentally tempt a man. So we're back at "screw this bill".
  7. I think they're smart about the mag compatibility. There have been a number of PCCs/handfuns I've ignored because my mags wouldn't work in the new version. The Scorpion being the prime example. Why on earth are the new mags backwards compatible with older models and not visa versa. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's hard as hell to sell old magazines to recoup for buying a new set. *Edit* phone turned handguns into handfuns... But I kinda like it, so the typo will stay.
  8. The Kel Tec price tag is a lot better looking, that's for sure.
  9. I appreciate everyone coming to my aid. It'll be this weekend before I have the bandwidth to focus on it. Will post the results then.
  10. those cannons lost their sparkle looooong ago
  11. 3 fake guns in one photo.
  12. @BigKhad made the suggestion of sticking a soldering pin down in there to heat it up. It's all metal until you get to the polymer receiver. So that might work. Maybe i'll drill the wrench, heat it up and then try reversing it.
  13. this seems like the most likely method at this point.
  14. That's about the best quality i can get with a camera phone. I've been digging at it to try and free it up. seems the metal is quite flimsy, but it just won't budge.
  15. I don't see the polymer CZ's move very quickly on here over the years, so I want to attest to the reliability of these pistols. I have a gen 1 "Duty" model which is my EDC. I have thousands of rounds down the pipe and it's ran every ammo type i've put through it without a hitch. This model includes all of the upgraded components after the re-release which makes it even better! Don't let the polymer fool you, I will NEVER get rid of mine. GLWS OP
  16. immovable. i can probably snap some pics later. just working for the moment.
  17. worth a try for sure.
  18. I have a Rohm .22lr revolver that's just sitting in my safe unused. Let's be completely clear, this thing is a flaming bag of a$$ and i've never even shot it, but it would be something fun to test out your bluing skills. The cheap plastic handgrips are broken as well, so maybe you could fashion up some grips. $75 and it's yours (a quick google search says they're $99). Photo is for reference and not actually mine.
  19. Dang! I bought a Mosin with less grease on it!
  20. This is me, 1000%
  21. I bought some magnets, but the issue is that the set screw is recessed. Very tiny hole. I may try to buy something smaller/strong, but i worry that with the torsion of twisting the allen key... it may not come out cleanly.
  22. Probably fine for a bench shooter. Maybe a vertical or AFG under the bipod would help, but shooting it standing without a thumb grip would be super awkward. But good on you OP, it's fun to make vision a reality.
  23. So I tried to remove a set screw recently. It's 3/32 and i gave it maybe 5lbs of pressure and the allen wrench snapped off in the set screw (thanks wheelers). Now i can't remove it. Any thoughts or ideas on how to extract?
  24. Honestly, it's probably a good thing I have a wife. Otherwise I would just be sitting on gunsafes watching football on a 110" tv, eating funyuns and Ramen.
