  1. I bought some titanium bits to try and drill out enough material to get a removal tool in there, but the bits barely made a dent (ate the bits). then i got busy and haven't looked back. You've renewed my interest now, so i'm going to buy better quality bits this weekend
  2. I get a lot of my mags at prepper gun shop. Looks like good prices, but no stock joe bob outfitters has them for a few bucks off per mag
  3. At the NRA convention, Crossbreed just happened to have a minituck hybrid for the XMacro, I was excited to see it for only $69, so i picked it up on site. Unfortunately, it's not great. The build quality is fine but the ride height is way too low for having an optic installed. With the available adjustments, the optic is either sitting on top of my belt or it's under the belt. I can't have my carry not seating fully or snagging under the belt. I may be able to punch some new holes in the leather to raise it up, but it tells me that nobody at Crossbreed ever tried it themselves. I also have a Black Arch Protos being shipped to me.
  4. just saw this one. I'm sorry, but both these temps are wrong. 69 to 71 are within acceptable range.
  5. This is my exact issue with him. I loved that movie and now it's hard to watch because i have to see his face.
  6. Last night I sent a text to a former coworker. We're not close, but I like to check in with people now and then. A few minutes later I got a text from another number asking who I was. My initial thought was, maybe they've changed phone numbers or someone else found their phone. Sadly, this wasn't the case. The person texting me back was my coworkers wife, letting me know that he had committed suicide two weeks prior. There's a sorted history there that I won't get into, but what I will say is that it was completely unexpected. We're talking about a guy that I thought was a rock. I would describe him as a "manly man". Married, two kids, always into the dad jokes but took his work and life very seriously. A big 2a advocate, red blooded American type. Folks, this just goes to show that you never know what's going on in someones life. You don't know someone else's story, or what they've been through. Some people hide it better than others. For me, it tells me that I need to learn to have a bit more grace and make sure I check in more often with the people I care about (God being first and foremost). Make sure that you take the time to be with family and friends. Life is too short and fellowship is where it's at. No amount of "stuff" will ever fill the void. And if you are struggling, please seek help. There are 1001 reasons why you matter. I had the unfortunate task of informing all of his old coworkers (which i did gladly because I wasn't going to put that back on his wife) and it amazed me that people I thought only knew him in passing were gutted to find out what happened. A few of them even started talking to me about their own struggles with depression. Suicide isn't the answer.
  7. Not that I should poke fun of a wanna-be hitman or anything, but do you think he also knew any Nigerian princes, met local singles in his area or benefited from getting his vehicle an extended warranty?
  8. adding onto that one. they said they will find another country to produce ammo, but it won't be domestic and it won't be cheap steel. meaning, brass only.
  9. Oh and hipower, we got to play with the FN Highpower. Pretty slick. Great trigger.
  10. I'll be honest, I have no clue. Initially I want to say that vendors took a stand against the NRA. Realistically though...they stand to make money and advertising time...so I dunno. The pandemic may have put a lot of them out of business. Or maybe import bans? Dunno. By the way, I saw lots of wheelchairs and hover rounds. They actually had a lot of space at the event.
  11. This is my 4th time attending (Nashville, Louisville, Atlanta, Indy). Honestly... You guys didn't miss much. A lot of missing cool vendors. The swag was almost non-existent. No booth babes as well (just an observation).
  12. Hear you there. I paid the $35 or whatever it costs just for a 1 year specifically to get in the door. I figure I would spend that much at a movie, bowling, or whatever... So why not
  13. I don't attend any of the speeches, I'm just here to look at guns and gear.
  14. We all have our feelings about the NRA's direction... But it's a chance to check out all the new toys. @BigKnd i kept tradition and made the drive to Indy. Anyone else here?
  15. I get quality 1000%. But I'm not a fan of "top of the line or nothing". I bought this Fenix pd35 years ago, on a whim. I'm not kidding when I say I've beaten the literal hell out of this thing and it keeps on going! It's most certainly chinesium...but man it's rock solid. I would trust my life with it, no doubt. For that alone, I can't justify $300+ on a local brand. However, I don't begrudge anyone who does.
  16. This is the upgraded version of my first carry light. Sadly, the weak clip caused me to lose it. Otherwise, great little light.
  17. right? Is it that easy? As of today, I'm famous for good looks and winning personality. Let's see how this pans out.
  18. I'm 43 and grew up in middle TN. Where did Nashville hot chicken come from??? Suddenly one day.... *poof* Nashville is famous for it's hot chicken! meanwhile me:
  19. Honestly, I wish they had been smarter than to boot them entirely. Remove them from session, perhaps a warning of some type. Continued disruptive behavior can result in removal, blah blah blah. But booting them makes martyrs. This is playing right into their hands. I'm also fully convinced that this is the best outcome for liberals as they would LOVE to flip this state. Personally, and this is conspiracy on my part, but i think they're making liberal states/cities miserable enough to get people to move out and disperse into red states. Booting out elected officials is a perfect way to get liberal minded folks wound up and voting blue again.
  20. Man.... you had to remind me of The great pizza orientation test didn't you. Every now and then, something makes me drag out this article and I get tickled every time. I think it's the absurdity of it all. Wow this story is old. None pizza with left beef..... classic
  21. Surefire is Latin for: "Too ***** expensive for what it actually does". Fenix fan here. I bought a PD35 2014 model when it was first released. I've dropped it, submerged it, it fell out of my wrangler once doing 45mph. 2023 and it's still kicking. Got a PD36 this past Christmas. It's solid as well. Since I have rechargeable batteries for both, i just use them till they die (which isn't often) and swap out while the other charges.
  22. I think he meant that sarcastically. Fudge 'em, you and your F's (or lack thereof) are welcome here.
  23. Definitely not knocking it sir. I just wanted to hear a story where someone ate it without meaning to.
  24. Please let there be a story here involving unintentional consumption of snapping turtle. please....
  25. Just shop at Nortons
