  1. Some theories about the shutter speed required to capture a bullet in flight as well. Like, why is professional photographer using a high speed setting for a guy standing still at a podium?
  2. For me, it was the way he could calmly work around stupidity, absorb it and only perhaps use slight sarcasm instead of losing his mind. Masterful comedy.
  3. Forgot to mention that a 12 ft ladder would have been exactly what the Secret Service needed to thwart the assassination attempt.
  4. I would agree on the good ole boy reference. You wind up with an echo chamber of confirmation bias. Diversity is helpful, as long as the talent is qualified.
  5. Thanks. Current at work so i just provided it as is.
  6. wow, just saw this Microsoft laid off a DEI team, and its lead wrote an internal email blasting how DEI is 'no longer business critical' https://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-layoffs-dei-leader-email-2024-7 unfortunately it's behind a paywall.
  7. dude i just spit out my coffee
  8. But in the business world, it's anything but organic. At my place, an extremely large scale enterprise, I attended an event with around 1000 professionals near the start of the DEI push. We had a leader, celebrated for her role as a minority, take the stage and say "We have a lot of work to do when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion. You only need to take a look around the room to see there is a problem", as she gestured to all of us in the crowd. From there it was a whirlwind of hires for people that ticked the boxes. I was even personally told I couldn't hire a candidate because "it's not a woman", despite the male candidate being much more qualified. At one point, a leader over a significant chunk of people made the comment that 50% of the US is female, so we're going to move to 50% of our workforce being female. Shortly after that, i discovered that one of my active directory groups that someone added me to had "men" as the label. So on the surface, businesses will grandstand that they're making an impact, but ultimately it doesn't care... the business will can those folks the second it's not popular. If they TRULY cared, they would be supporting the next generation. Funding STEM and inner city. Helping the next generation thrive and progress. But they aren't. It's all for show.
  9. How in the heck are we supposed to get up there?? If only someone would invent: • A scissor lift, crane or a cherry picker • One of those stands they use for the announcers at golf tournaments • A DRONE!!! • long stick with a camera
  10. I'm going to take a different approach. "It depends who you ask" What it should be: Equality across all races, lifestyles, genders, beliefs. Best person for the job/role. Ensuring that people are represented to include their life perspective. What it is: Virtue signaling for clout and business news letters to avoid public ridicule and effecting profit margins
  11. Awesome! But that's not what the Democrats try to send to the white house.
  12. If you heard her, clean to her soul...
  13. Replace Trump with Biden in your statement and that's how I feel about the Democrats. Why can't the Democrats put up less progressive people so we can get stuff done? It's because nobody is really in the middle anymore. On either side.
  14. anyone caught the media starting to repeat the same things yet on both sides of the isle? "lowering the temperature" "avoid dangerous rhetoric" Gotta control those sheeple by repeating that phrase over and over relentlessly
  15. My prayer is that it puts him into some perspective that he's not untouchable. Maybe even gives him some humility. Honestly, I think it would help his case tremendously.
  16. Googling "what is black Twitter"? may be the whitest thing I've done this year.
  17. Republicans have MAGA, Democrats call everyone Hitler. In a few years it'll be na-nanny-boo-boo stick your head in doo doo.
  18. Hopefully this reference isn't lost.
  19. Questions i don't think are the problem. Accusations though are dangerous business.
  20. i've been to vegas twice and haven't gambled once! It's neat, but i like my money, it's hard enough for me to earn it.
  21. Someone actually thought this was a good idea. But... people also ate the Tide pods, so....
  22. This 100%. The guy puts on pants just like i do every day. Another strong point I will make is that he's not claiming deity either. I'm of a mind that if he did, he would see a MASSIVE drop in popularity. The biggest drop anyone has ever seen..... (see what i did there?)
  23. I can get behind this. I don't mean compromising on beliefs either, because there are some conservative stances I don't want to bend on (2A being the obvious since we're on TGO). But we need to find some way for either party to agree that America must remain united and strong. Sounds easy right?
  24. I guess the question really should be, why does anyone really care? Both sides of the political isle say they want to save lives, yet the question is "why isn't he dead?" Seems counterproductive in the first place. Why isn't he dead? Well, because he isn't...
  25. Coolest thing I've see you post my dude. Hope you're recovering well.
