That's kinda my field. I never intended to be in IT, it just so happened that I learned how to fix an old packard bell back in 1995. That lead me to helping other people fix theirs. Fast forward to 2004 when i needed work and said "i guess i'll just go work for Dell, I can fix a computer" and the rest is history. Before that it was odd jobs.

it's pretty sizable. I would say at least a foot or two of clearance above the duct.

So my dogs started sniffing around in my closet recently. I figured out why... there's a maintenance grate that goes to the back of our jacuzzi tub. Turns out, whoever installed this thing cut a hole in the subfloor in order to pipe/wire it, but they left it open to the crawlspace. Making things worse, i got down in the crawlspace and realized that the hole through the cinderblock for the AC duct is WAY bigger than the duct itself.. so there's a ton of open air. Doing what they do best, some mice found it and called it home. I set some traps etc and i'm pretty sure i got the critters but now i'm left with the task of... how do i seal this up. I want to do it the right way however. Any suggestion on materials? I'm not above the labor, it's just the know how. I guess i could cut a plywood section to fill in the gaps and hit it with some kinda foam, but then it's a question on how i attach it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yeah at present, I have no plans to change. But I would be foolish to not think a few years into the future about where i want to be.

Anyone here made a major leap to a new career? I'm curious what your experience was like and how you prepped for it. For context, I'm 45 and watching the rate of change within the tech world. I have spent my entire career chasing cutting/bleeding edge and I'm still able to keep up with the trends, but who's to say I will be able to do that in my 50's or even into my 60's. Expecting this, I started down the management track some time ago, but it never hurts to explore your other options... especially with AI running amuck.

ugh, i clicked that and now my computer probably has cancer. **Edit*** Thanks for updating the link @gun sane that flixxy site reminded me of every malware portal i've ever met. It "seems" to be legit content aggregation service, but I wouldn't recommend using it. This youtube direct video is fine however.

Caddyshack,' 'Tron' actress Cindy Morgan dead at 69!!!
NoBanStan replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
I watched Caddyshack a bunch as a kid. It still makes me laugh. She was great in it. It's funny how you get a snapshot in your mind of an actor. Their age, how they look, etc. Then you're ultimately surprised when you find out later that they've aged or passed away. I had that when i looked up recent photos of her. In my mind, she was always that preppy blonde girl that just wanted to party. -

I SHOULD like revolvers. I have every reason TO like them. Reliability and accuracy alone speak for themselves. Plus, what's cooler than a .357 really? See, now I want one. Can someone please convince my wife?

man the sting you would feel at 30 mph... shew..

I'm not a revolver guy, but I like that a lot! How about a range report? *edit* Looked it up. $1200!!! See this is why I'll never own a revolver. I want one but that's to much for my own novelty.

They are arming themselves - or at least trying to

Our government: We must arm the Ukranian's! We must arm the Israeli's! We must arm the DACA people! We must disarm the American populace! -
Nice! Your secret decoder ring should show up in the mail any day now.

When i was a teen, we had a roving band of idiots who would steal mailboxes for fun. They would take them to the local abandoned quarry and chuck them into the water. They got caught fortunately, but it took the better part of a year and probably 15-20 mailboxes were taken. Unfortunately... they were all minors so the law didn't hit them that hard. @gregintennit sounds like it's time for some concrete.

I want more firearms but I'm self imposing a parts and ammo diet for now. I feel fairly comfortable with my stash, but often think to myself, "what if that spring breaks?", so I'm starting to get at least one or two repair items for the guns I've deemed as my go-to. All the ammo in the world won't help if you have a broken extractor.

Very cool @maroonandwhite Stuff like this reminds me just how much of a city slicker I am. Now I just need land, time, energy, brains, etc.

Glad you're here too. I would probably question why you flopped the 1911 on the table during breakfast, but you do you. Lol Happy celestial object revolution day.

PCR over EMP if you're choosing between the two, IMO. Hard to beat just about any CZ 75 series. One thing of note is that carrying all depends on what you're wearing. Even a compact is going to look like you have a howitzer strapped to your hip if you're not dressed for it. Right now I have Sig P365 xmacro tacops for when I'm wearing a button up. If I'm just in a T-shirt and shorts, I pocket carry an LCP2. I also tend to buy my pants a bit big and wear a belt daily (I carry everywhere). When you first start daily carry, you'll probably feel like everyone is staring at you. Truth is, nobody will be. If anything, they're looking at your face. This is assuming you don't fidget with it. Constantly tugging on your shirt or adjusting your pants. Gotta learn to keep your mitts off. It takes a bit.

Whatever it is, it'll be rectangular.

I can do drainage, toilets, etc but I don't do anything under the house. I'm sure I could, but I don't want to mess with cutting, sweating, fitting, whatever. I will gladly pay for that lack of headache.
