  1. Check out freedom ammo or Georgia arms
  2. What a waste, my eyes hurt.
  3. I like the Sig 938 to me it is a mini 1911(cocked and locked), if that is not your cup of tea, my next chose would be the shield which IMO has a nice trigger and a safety if you want to use it. I am not a fan of long heavy trigger pulls.

    S&W Shield 9mm

My magazines were waiting for me when I came home :)
  5. I have/had a few of thier 1911's and they are all good guns. I hope the USA versions are as good and not over priced. The only thing I didn't like were the grips, to me they were cheap, but guns function perfectly.
  6. I don't get it, first post and this is it. What is the point or question?
  7. I need to stop drinking. Woke up this morning in Tennessee and now I live in West Virginia. Will I need to apply for a new HCP?
  8. Give Sam Hoster a call at complete gunsmithing in Gallatin. He should be able to help you. IMO he does excellent work. His number is 206-0075
  9. 1)Could have been checked at the door, then loaded (this could happen very easily. 2) buyer should have checked before putting it on his table for sale. Gun sales 101. 3) person taking the gun from the table would think it was safe. I don't. I always check even if I see it is cleared by the salesman. I rack the slide or spin the wheel on a wheel gun. I guess I don't trust anyone ;). This is still a bad seen.
  10. I think you're a racist if you don't drink Ripple or any wine with an expiration date. All kidding aside gun ownership has nothing to do with race, it is a right.
  11. I don't get it either. Everytime I check a few online sites like gunbot the prices seem to be going up and other ammo for example 9mm and 45 acp are coming down.

    S&W Shield 9mm

Why not cancel your order from S&W and order from 44mag?
  13. Hornady HP 90 gr.is what I used when I carried/had a 380. Also, I have been shooting Georgia arms in 45acp and 9mm with no problems.

  16. I was under the impression that a damn Yankees was a baseball team from NY.
  17. I was born in a hospital, does that make me a Yankee or a Rebel? I know what state was I born in,I think the state of confusion. Sorry all I just had to do it :) Anyway welcome ;)
  18. Went to the LGS today and I now have my own shield and another 1911. ;) Also, after 30 plus years of not seeing Mike, I met him at the store. He is as nuts as he was 30 years ago and still a super nice guy.
  19. That is just GREAT for her. She looks very pleased, in the second picture. How bout some details, example; type of gun, in tree stand, on ground, etc. My little girl who is now 36 got her first deer when she was 14. I can still see the look on her face, her hands shaking and all the jokes about I was 14 when I got my first deer, how old were you when you got your's (35 yrs old from the city). I still here it today when it is deer season (I get he phone call) :(
  20. Since I am an old fart too, we need to start an Old fart thread. Must be at least 55 to post or comment in this thread. What do you think Mike ;)
  21. November 1 is all saints day and November 2 is all souls day.
  22. What I would recommend is going to a range rent a 357 and shoot 38's, 38+p and 357 through it. Try different size barrels. Then rent a few different 9mm semi auto's and shoot 115 gr and 124 gr. Then make a decision based on watch feels best in your hands and you will not hesitate to shoot. IMHO both revolvers and semi auto's will get the job done. The only thing that will make a difference is what feels right for you.
  23. The one wife bought ate 115 gr fmj but the defensive is 124 gr. She is carrying with one in the chamber with safety on. She said it reminds her of her 1911's that she was carrying before. Now the Glock 19 gen 4 that she was carrying will be one of her range guns. Hard to believe when we lived in FL (10 years ago) she wouldn't go to the range with me, now we go every weekend.
  24. Went to the LGS today with my wife to do a little shooting and check out the inventory. Well I see a shield and ask the salesman to take it out of the display case so I touch it and see how it feels in my hand. Before the salesman had a chance to take it out mother nature calls, so I go to the bathroom. I get back to the counter and my wife is filling out the paper. Now I think she is buying it for me. Wrong, she is buying it for herself :( She now has a new carry gun and I have to wait to see if they can get me one. We took it in the range and fired 32 rounds through it and it functioned perfectly. I did get to shoot 2 rounds through it and I liked it. The trigger was excellent, I guess when S&W had the recall fix they made improvements to the trigger. This gun has a test round dated 8/1/2013. So,it was built after the recall.
  25. IMHO, this is nonsense and the father needs to get a life. Kids need to learn they will not always win, that is a fact of life. Are we creating a generation of wimps? Sometime in a childs life they will need to learn to stand up for themselves in what they do, either right or wrong. Every time there is a conflict it isn't always bullying, it is the real world.
