Cheaper than Dirt catalog, no ammo prices?
npgunner replied to 10ga's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I'm not sure why it matters if they did or didn't sale the Newton Bushmaster. It wasn't sold directly to that nut-job, he killed someone and stole it. Last I paid any attention to it, the rifle was found in the car anyway (not sure what the media is reporting now a days). It doesn't matter who sold it, because the rifle being sold at all isn't the problem. It's the crazies and the criminals who, through constant consumption of ruthlessly violent mass media, are desensitized to the human spirit and effects of violence. They see it as (and are as such emboldened to pursue these actions) the only way to "make a name for themselves" in a world devoid of truly caring and connected relationships, and so seek out the momentary fame given to these heartless human beings. As far as CTD goes, I side with smithra89 from above. I made the same decision to stop supporting them. I found that a lot of their prices were minimally competitive with my local shops. For the % of $ I would save by going with CTD, I'll keep it local, get my stuff when I pay for it, and not fool with any unnecessary policy reviews. -
got the home page to load, but after that its a no go

i was obviously out of the loop about this. any chance you could give me a little info on what you're talking about?

it shows in stock, but when you add quantity 1 to cart, it comes back with message that says "this quantity is not available"

Dad and brother introduced me to TGO over the holidays. It's my go-to spot now for when I'm bored, or easily distractable, or just not in the mood to do what I'm supposed to be doing at a given time.

I keep one near me at all times. The rest are in the safe, unloaded. If I'm home, the safe isn't always on lock-down, but I make sure it is locked before bed and when I leave. I keep my standard EDC stuff (knife, light, gun, keys) on a shelf on the door, so am in and out of it frequently. I keep loaded mags next to all the guns in case I need them. I don't have any kiddos running around the house, but if I did or do, keep everything physically on me, or in the safe.

She apparently owns the business and is helping out today because someone is sick. She was on the riding mower, so nothing too physical. David, she needs your contact information. When I tackled her off the riding mower she wanted to know why I thought it was a good idea. I shared with her about it being your idea and she said she would need to contact you for liability reasons ... Jk

i don't use these guys ... but if i did, i would cancel, and make sure i was very clear in telling them why ... i understand the rationale behind the "guns pointing at people" reason, but banning commercials with semiautomatics? i sure hope they're not running any major hollywood release ads ... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/01/19/time-warner-cable-company-bans-some-gun-ads/

Anyone have experience with Dave Ramsey classes?
npgunner replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
Definitely recommend the book and podcasts (free). If you want, you can do the class online (a bit cheaper) and at your own pace. Once you get the debt paid off, and are ready to start building wealth (and thus on your way to being an evil rich person); his website can hook you up with people his company has vetted and approved to help you understand investing, taxes, real estate better (his ELP) program. For you small business guys, you should look into his book / podcast series called Entreleadership. Definitely a good read for leadership advice. I'm not a salesman for him, but strongly believe in the idea of his system. It's worked for my life. Also ... the podcasts give me something to listen to on the drive to work and keep me motivated. On another note, he's also a gun collector. -
Yea ... gonna have to agree with you. That guy isn't helping the cause right now.

feel the same, i certainly won't see any of what i've contributed at the rate things are going (40+ years before i'm eligible). to those who are getting it, enjoy my money while they still give it to you ...

That is if they have gun shows up there anymore. Since the legislation requires they be sold out of state, I'm thinking of setting a table up on the road just behind the "Welcome to Pennsylvania" road sign (not really, but might be an idea?)

I don't personally prefer one over the other. I carry a gen4 daily but own an assortment of the gen 3 & 4s. If you do get the gen4, check and make sure it's up-to-date on recalled parts. I bought a gen4 about a month ago and took to Glock factory in GA and they update for free. Was surprised to learn my "new" gun didn't come with the updates, but just depends on when was shipped to the dealer. So worth looking at. they will also send you update parts thru mail if you can't make the drive

oh, it's obviously not direct illumination of the front site post, but the way the light throws out from under it lets you see it really well. I tried the light on both sides and settled on the under as my favorite.
-
pattywak, sorry I missed your additional questions. easy to install the ergo grip forend. the whole project (mounting light and a few test shots) took less than 45ish minutes. I wanted a rail that would allow me to mount the light on the under side, not off to the side. I have the ghost ring sights and the light under allows for great illumination of the front orange post at night without casting a shadow to one side. I don't find it uncomfortable with or without the vertical grip. It comes with some rubber fillers that line the edges, these "snap" into place. I'm happy with this purchase and my set up. Let me know what you decide to go with.

any one know how I can get in touch with this guy? i'd like to take him to dinner and thank him for staying level-headed, being prepared, and being a competent defender of the 2nd amendment in this video

been spending a good amount of time in Atlanta, GA. everywhere I've looked at here, and there, it's been easy to find the 7.62, .40, and random/weird (to me at least) rifle cartridges (303 British anyone?) ... does anyone remember how long it took things to restock after the last panic buy (when no one could find .380)?

http://mopns.com/2013/01/14/sen-chappelle-nadal-sponsors-sb-124-parents-required-to-report-to-childrens-school-they-own-a-gun/ hopefully TN doesn't have anything like this on the books? I'd hate to be called into the principal's office because I own a gun ...
