I agree ... school isn't (and shouldn't be) the only opportunity for social interaction with other children.

I've seen these and wondered the same thing. Never made the purchase ... let me know what you think about them if you get around to using them.

I got the Amazon Prime membership and get the free 2 day shipping on most stuff. It's like $80 bucks so not sure how much I'm saving. I got it so the wife could get some free stuff and loan/lend stuff on her Kindle. I might be a sucker for that, but I like getting most of my stuff in just a day or two.

I think one main point not mentioned in this thread, is that a real problem (I might say the MAIN problem) with our education system (much like other aspects of life) is a multi-generational lack of basic parenting skills throughout the population that has lead to each successive generation feeling more entitled and consequently less responsible for their actions in society. I believe that if you bring back strong parenting and family groups in society that believe in accountability, respect of other individuals, and discipline (gasp!), you might have a hope of turning this country around.

The way I look at it ... people go to private/home school to promote certain values and ideals in their child's education: 1. safety 2. academic excellence 3. moral/religious/political values I'd say its debatable depending on the certain district whether most public schools can provide safety. I never felt unsafe at my high school, but wouldn't send my kids there now. I'm not talking about the bullying "problem" (don't particularly believe its a problem). I'm talking about strictly safety from violence. I'll also go out there and say I doubt public education provides the quality of academic excellence (as an average of all schools) that I would think as acceptable (see trending test scores and academic achievement as of late). And finally I think we can all agree that public school won't (likely because of not being able too) provide the environment of moral/religious/political philosophy most of us ascribe too. As such, if I had kids I wouldn't have a problem home schooling or sending them to private school, and I believe that choice is right to make.

If any of these companies did this, I'm sure they could sale the extra inventory on the private market, and most likely for more than what they can sale them for to the LE/Govt. It would probably effect the bottom line somewhat ... but in this current arena, I certainly would appreciate some big corporations standing up with us. I'd be first in line to financially support any company that followed suit.

DHS explains ammo purchase reasons. Are they kidding?
npgunner replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Could someone do me a favor and post a link to that video? At work and can't find it online since web blocking software, but could see it on phone. Basically too lazy to use this 4 inch screen to find it. Thanks in advance! -

I have to say reading the article didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I certainly don't believe much (if anything) they release. I do find it interesting that they even chose to address the subject though. Enough people must have been asking the right questions to the right people that they thought they needed to placate those of us who were asking. Actually ... now that I think about, that may make me feel worse. "Don't worry citizens, this is entirely normal and you have nothing to fear from us. We're doing this for your good. <continues stashing away massive amount of ammo for unknown reasons>" -
I have to admit I haven't read this entire thread, so forgive me if someone has mentioned it. In my EDC bag I carry a few rolls of TP. I take it off the roll and divide it out into approximately what would an amount required for one "good use" (usually 6 to 8 strips per roll, i'm a triple-ply guy). Then I take those strips of TP and put into a galloon freezer ziplock bag, and it folds up nicely and stores relatively flat. It was a better use of space for my bag, than having an entire roll take up all that space.

we may see a little decrease in supply while hopefully demand catches up, and think the "panic" buyers will have created a bubble that will pop sometime in the next few months. a few deals on the private market may be seen. i do worry about what might happen come 2014 if we were to loose control of the House. I think what we have seen the past few months will be a drop in the bucket of the panic we will see then.

I EDC the 4sevens Preon 1 as a "micro" flashlight; front right pocket. I also EDC the 4sevens Quark Pro QP2LX as a more "tactical" light; rear left pocket. Meant to order the 4sevens Quark tactical, but clicked the wrong model off Amazon. I also have some Fenix and Surefire lights, but those are the ones I've been carrying for the last 6 months and have done me well. I haven't had to replace the battery in the smaller one in the past 6 months, and I'm pretty sure the only reason I've replaced the CR123's in the Quark is because 1.) I use it on high mode, and 2.) I put it in my backpack with the light still on for a few hours not too long ago :screwy:

Olympic Arms, Inc. Announces New York State Sales Policy
npgunner replied to Moped's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Excellent. The next time I'm in the market for anything gun related, will go to OA first for sure. I absolutely support and love this decision, and can only hope others will follow suit. -
Can we really call it a "union" when the country is this divided. Maybe it should be called "state of the divide" or "how well my community organizing has worked"
-
I'll second that. Th best thing we could do is vote all of them out. A fresh restart, some term limits, and an American public that uses there brain for more than E! News and ordering a pizza should have us back on course.

Not even thinking about the possible ban, but at some point the market has to be saturated. Then what do they do with all the extra equipment they invested in that they aren't using now because the rush is over. I agree with your they are most likely running full blast. These places are all businesses that require product to make money, so I'm sure they're trying to get it to us all as quick as possible.

haha. Gonna share this on my FB page and hopefully enflame some of my liberal friends.

Agenda 21 What our kids are being taught
npgunner replied to Mister L's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Trying not to get the tin foil wrapped to tightly this morning and was wondering ... I see all these videos about 21 and its impact on America, but miss what it does in other parts of the world. Are Americans the primary goal of 21, or do I just not hear about its goals elsewhere? I understand the idea that we lead the free world so why we might be the primary focus, but what about elsewhere? Are there biodiversity maps of say ... China? England? Switzerland? Other parts of the world reportedly have increasing education and scores in math and science ... is that because our students are dumber, or the standards have already eroded in these other countries so they are reported as smarter, when really they do better on dumber tests? Just some thoughts from a guy that's new to 21. -
Wish more companies would come out and make a stand like this.

Tax the ammo rich! Spread the wealth! haha. jk. nice job dude. i wonder what all that weighs?!?! hopefully one day i'll have even 1/4 the amount you have there

Absolutely rediculous, but sadly I think it's an indicator of the road Nashville is on towards insanity. Luckily I'm a bigger guy and these types don't hassle me too often. I also have a pretty short fuse with them, and most of them back down quickly when challenged. I also try to avoid downtown as much as possible, so I don't have to be bothered ... but sadly, the Contributor has "employees" all the way out in Hermitage now, and some of those idiots are just as bad as the character above.

I can see both sides of this. Before a family member of mine got into reloading I would sweep up my brass and ask the people around if they wanted it. That doesn't bother me so much ... but they probably should have thrown the targets away. As far as moving target, I have to say, I'm guilty. Think it makes for good training.
