  1. So my question is would rendering aid be seen as: 1. what a nice guy, he's helping out someone that attacked and tried to kill him 2. he's admitting he shouldn't have shot the attacker because now he's trying save the attacker's life, and is thus an admission that he shouldn't have shot him The way I see it, if I shoot someone to "stop the threat," the threat may or may not be laying dead in the street. If the threat has stopped (attacker down), but is not dead, it would be in my best interest (since trained to respond to this situation) to offer at least a superficial amount of aid. But Im worried if that would be perceived as an unconscious admission of "I shouldn't have shot the guy." Especially in a civil lawsuit. I'm interested to hear y'all's thoughts and opinions.
  2. I think this is a classic situation where "less is more" wins out (with regards to what to say). As a fellow medical professional, I sympathize with your concern that taking 20 mins could certainly lead to death, so personally, I wouldn't wait to call. I don't know what the legal expectation is though for me to render help to the attacker. Maybe someone with more legal experience could clarify on this? I understand that Good Samaritan is likely to protect me in case of error while rendering the assistance, but don't know that it compels me to offer aid to someone I shot. I most likely would follow directions given to me by 911 operator. Edited to correct the incorrect auto-correct.
  3. I too wonder when we may looking at Cyprus-style situation where the government just takes money from you. Another awful thing that could happen is the forced nationalization of retirement monies. Either they take control, or simply state that retirement monies must be invested in treasury debt or something like that. Either way, in my opinion I think that's a ways off. It's likely that taking people's retirement right now would severely p*$$ off those who are about to retire and would likely result in them being voted out. Now ... once all the boomers use up the their money and need it from the government, or die off then they will be able to take it.
  4. My strategy: - invest in my 401k/403b up to the percentage my company matches [pre-tax] - the rest goes into Roth IRA [after-tax] I personally put in a total of 15%. My company matches 5% so my total investment is 20%. As for where, I'd recommend a good broker. Someone that buys/sales from many investment companies. If you go with a Fidelity rep they are likely to push you towards Fidelity funds which may or may not be the top earners (or State Farm, Vanguard, etc.). I found my guy through the Dave Ramsey ELP service (endorsed local provider). He was real good about sitting down, explaining all the investment types, showing me a broad range of funds from different companies, and talking about the fine print (no-load vs load funds for example). Also had good advice regarding my insurance portfolio and general financial topics. Here's a link for the Dave website, click on "ELP Investing" on the right side and fill in info to find a local contact if you choose. http://www.daveramsey.com
  5. I slapped one on some libtard-b*****'s car in my apartment complex. She has so many other stickers on there she doesn't seem to have noticed. It's been there for about 2 weeks now. She tried arguing with me one day when unloading the car after a trip to the range. Hahaha
  6. It's not "obesity" ... it's "preparedness"
  7. Agree ... No one on the federal dole will ever vote against that, it's just comfortable enough NOT to be uncomfortable. And for those that haven't noticed, that number has grown by leaps-and-bounds since O has been in office (I'd say intentionally). The population will shift from city to city and blue/red may change, but as a whole the population is shifting blue and will eventually outnumber the red (blue kids most likely outnumber red kids). That has been insured by the slow take over of higher and lower (k-12) education, break-up of the nuclear family unit, and aggressive social change on a number of topics (abortion, gay rights, etc.).
  8. Where at in GA if you don't mind?
  9. Home from church and right to the forum ... sounds like me. Haha. Happy Easter. I fear if the Commies get control in the mid-term we are done. We're probably already done in the long-term, but the rate of decay will increase to the point of where we likely won't recognize the America we live in in 5-10 years. Only when conservative America is as good as organizing as they are will we have a chance to regain any control of the country. I fear that is our downfall. The conservative lifestyle is such that we don't desire to mass-organize and push social change, and that's exactly what they have done to change America. They have convinced us that trading our freedoms for the security they promise is what we want and need, and the previous generations of America ate it up hook, line, and sinker. Doing so has doomed us freedom loving Americans (those that are still around and understand) to the future we have been handed. I hope and pray that America wakes up soon and is able to salvage what has been left behind.
  10. Happy Easter! ... now if only Google felt the same way. I'll likely be changing my search engine since they felt it was ok to put Cesar Chavez up today and not Easter.
  11. Yea ... sometimes the settings get a little wonky. You can filter a lot of things in new content; new members, new posts, new blogs, content you started, etc. on the mobile iPhone view there's a bar across the top you access those settings at. On the desktop view you can click through those settings in the side bar on the left. I just about freaked out the first time this happened because I too live by the new content tab.
  12. So are you the patriotic libtard? Or the conservative commie? And as far as the discussion related to what O does with his money ... I, uh, don't personally believe he writes a check to cover Air Force one, local law enforcement staff, etc. I understand the point of him getting this as part of his job, but his kids shouldn't get it (a moderate level of protection sure, but a 2 stop spring break vacation with friends? absolutely not). It took many localities years to be paid by his campaign for services they provided for his election stops, so I have serious doubts that he's paying for any of this with his money.
  13. i don't for one second believe there's a difference between D and R ... but just saying "oh well, Bush did it, so quit bitching that Obama is doing it" isn't going to fix the problem. at some point, someones got to call whoever is in office out on it being wrong and expect them to deal with it.  O should feel no more entitlted to in than Bush did and they're both wrong for taking advantage of there elected office.  I get that it's a stressful job, and they're terrorist targets, and etc. etc., but they signed themself up for the gig knowing full well what they were getting themselves into.   in my opinion, its been too many Democrat / Republican cycles, and waaayyy too long since this country saw a real leader sit in that (or any) political office
  14. Well you see judge what happened is uh, I was moving at such high speed that I didn't have time to uh, check my eotech placement. I saw that it was on backwards so uh, just turned the gun around so I could see through the right side uh ...
  15. There doesn't appear to be a way to remove said report from the system which bothers me. Say someone gets depressed and has suicidal or homicidal ideations. Ok, he probably doesn't need access to guns during that period. But now he's treated successfully and not a threat to anyone, he should have his rights back and the system should be updated to reflect his current condition. But doing this would put a lot of extra work in the system with updating everyone's files and would likely result in incorrect database.
  16. ... but those celebrities and privileged people of power know more about what's better for you than you do. Duh! Didn't you know that, that's how they got in power. <sarcasm off>
  17. and by warning "pants" above, I meant points. Haha
  18. Also his response to criticism: http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag51/ldugsjr1986/7DD33A8A-8FDE-41B9-BF92-0ADBA5C4D4FC-7156-000003F06029775D_zpsb4a9f93a.jpg
