1. One lucky kid if his dad cleans his pistols for him! Tell me he gave you a brick of .22LR for the service at least?
2. California has been doing the same thing since 2007. Don't have a link to the story right now, but found it in another thread here somewhere.
3. Man were we wrong! They can't keep the street lights on, police and fire stations staffed, or come through on all their pension promises; but the city and state can front a major portion of a new stadium for the Red Wings. ... ... because that's what matters?! http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/07/26/plans-for-new-red-wings-arena-in-detroit-spark-criticism/
4. healthychildren.org is put out by the American Academy of Pediatrician. Can any guess what side of the aisle those guys come down on? Took a few screen shots of the gun garbage they have on that website:
5. checked my several years old .38 LCR and does the same thing, last time I shot it (few months) it shot just fine
6. Yeah, that sounds like a "don't ask don't tell" policy. I like the way our mall in Clarksville posts; it leaves nothing to the imagination for the HCPer. Paraphrase: "Carrying of firearms and other weapons is prohibited unless authorized by state law." Something to that effect. I agree and have always treated it as "don't ask, don't tell" and will in the future. Some lady got randomly stabbed in the parking lot not too long ago. Lol Clarksville. That's silly.
7. Thanks,I appreciate it. I will look as I always do, but just looking here first. As a rule I spend my money where I am wanted, but everyone isn't like that so on extremely rare occasions I have to leave my pistol in the truck. I hate doing that needless to say. I have been up there years ago for adult fun night too but wasn't carrying. Opry Mills is posted to the side of each door ok the INSIDE. On the "rules of conduct" or whatever they title the posting. Just a sentence that says something about "no weapons" or blah blah. Since D&B (or whatever it is) has a direct entry, I'm not sure if it itself is posted.
8. I'd say hybrid is a good way to go. That's what me and the wife have. You can get them in either a "more road bike" config or a "more mountain bike" config in addition to straight down the middle. To me, the big difference (besides obvious components) is the tire and seat. My "road bike" hybrid has a hard seat (ouch! unless you have bike shorts) and smooth tires; so I don't go off road with mine much because of little traction on tires. My wife has a more "mountain bike"/"commuter" hybrid. Her seat is cushy and her tired are a tad but wider with some traction. Either way you'd go I +1 the idea of going to a good bike shop for fit and advice. The good bike shops I've been to are much like good gun shops. They'll talk with you, educate you, let you play with their stuff, and let you know what's good for you, without a lot of pressure at the time since you're a noob. If you're planning on going on longish rides I'd also suggest practicing changing the tire a few times at home and making sure you have mobile accessories and a pouch you can take with you (most will mount under the seat). Oh yes ... and a helmet!
9. But I like fried chicken and watermelon too, and I'm white! Heck on some days I even eat skittles.
10. But we already buy them so much (food, phones, baby formula, etc.) ... plus I don't understand what buying them a board game (haha ... Clue) is going to do besides occupy their time so they aren't out doing whatever it is they do with their free time.
11. lol, very true; would be a very short day at the range if i went full auto
12. looks like fun if you ask me those pansies up north need to get there panties out of a wad over this, they have other things to worry about
13. you mean you guys don't like those sunglasses?!?!
14. just be careful ... if you leave it in for too long it'll stain the polymer!
15. ^^^ This! I wish I could like this more than once.
16. For his sake I hope they were black
17. I checked it out ... my shipping costs were actually more than the ammo itself so I backed out. $15 for ammo. $18 to ship. I'm a supporter of Midway but that's not for me.
18. I guess it just depends on what you consider a "good" President is. To the voters in this poll it obviously isn't "abiding by the job description"
19. I don't think anyone thought about it, but we should have. Guy deserved for sure! We were just kind of all in shock. My favorite line, and perhaps it was this guys country accent and delivery was "No. And you ain't out pickin' my cotton fields either." I kind choked on my burger when that came out. Partially of shock, partially because it was funny.
20. In Atlanta, GA right now and was at the Cheesecake Factory at the Perimeter Mall (imagine Cool Springs area).  Was sitting in the bar area (not drinking, was carrying) and over head the following conversation.  I realize there are some racial aspects to what was said; but I think the conversation is proof that people are getting fed up with what's going on.  Or this could just be racist.  Also, I don't purport that everything said in the conversation is 100% factual (they said it, not me, I sat by quietly).     Guy 1(complaining to his friend): man, dey cut me off today, took my Obamaphone, my EBT, and my disability because they found out I got a job; dey forgot about what dey owe me for all dem years my ancestors spent in slavery, haha   Guy 2 (not his friend, some other guy at bar): oh yea? they cut you off because they found out you were cheating the system?   #1: its not cheatin' punk cuz i'm related to slaves   #2: huh, i see, well i'm still waitin/ on them to start paying me back cuz of all the Jews enslaved and killed during the Holocaust   #1: dey do dat? what?! why dey do dat? if dey cut dat off then dey could pay ME!   #2: well just as many, if not more, Jewish people were enslaved and murdered during the Holocaust as were during slavery, so why shouldn't they?   #1: n**ga are you even Jewish to know what you talkin' 'bout?   #2: no, i'm not, and you ain't out pickin' my cotton fields either boy so shut the f*** up about what society owes you for being related to a slave.  being black doesn't entitle you to anything more than me being white entitles me to anything.  the only thing you're enslaved to is that EBT card, that Obamaphone, and anything else this f***ed up government gives to you without working for it, and i'm d**n tired of paying for sc**w-ups like you   #1: man f*** you, i'm gettin' out of this racist joint. (leaves without paying for his and his friends dinner)   Thankfully nothing violent went down.  I thought about posting this in the thread about white people rioting, and even though the guys do seem to be a bit racist, I think it speaks more to the growing discontent and divide between the working class and what I call the "from the tit" class.
21. Sounds like you'll be coming through GA also. Here's a link to the GA equivalent of this forum: http://www.georgiapacking.org/law.php That link is actually that forum's gun law page but you can link to discussion from the links at the top.
22. @jtmaze You hit it right on the head IMO. While the quality of teachers/schools certainly has something to do with the end product of the public education system, the biggest denominator is the quality of home life and instillation of personal pride and responsibility by the parental units. Obviously over the last 40 years this has been severely degraded across the society as a whole, but do see why @robertnashville's comment could be offensive. Myself, I graduated high school < 10 years ago, have since earned a master's degree (actually a useful one, not one in 18th century East German lesbian studies), and am a productive member of society. I do think its fair to say that now, more so than in the past, the public education system is a babysitting service and turns out non-dead walkers (walking dead reference sort of), but do think its still possible for motivated individuals with good home lives to succeed in the broken system we have.
23. 4 bankruptcies in 2 years? (From article above) Seems a bit much ... what has she gotten into since that's let her finance this new PhD degree? Seems a bit fishy to me
24. :usa: "A revolution coming to an Obama worshiper next door to you."
