1. They'll just call up their buddies at NSA who can look at your recent phone activity ... ...
2. Clearly ... they need to be on the road more. And before someone chastises for taking a pic while driving, a passenger took the pic.
3. One of the comments makes the point that typically the NFL stadiums are primarily built with tax funds, I wonder if who owns the stadium would play into how this can be enforced?
4. My wife and I are expecting a baby come April!!! I used the photo below to announce it on Facebook. Should give my liberal friends something to think about. Got the idea from all these Pinterest photos my wife was showing me of shoes and things people were using to announce babies. Told my dad by giving him a G2.6, what I termed the "grand-baby Glock" haha
5. Uhh ... I'm not moderator or admin but uhh ...
6.   And this is the reason I have, and will continue too, tip on the credit card.   I also don't believe that it is an industry-wide standard to essentially "guess" at a servers tip based on the amount of sales he/she had for a night and force them to claim it on the w-2. My guess is that would lead to too many lawsuits regarding over-estimation of taxable income on the side of the employer.     I do believe (from first hand accounts by my server friends) that there is an industry-wide practice of under reporting tips to a.) lower the taxable income at the end of the year; and b.) forcing the restaurant to pay the difference between their "earned income" (a combination of hourly rate and tips) and the minimum wage.  So essentially by under reporting tips, the servers are asking the customer to subsidize their income with tax-free, non-reported tips; and stealing from the employer by forcing them to pay them more.
7. I don't understand the few of you that think servers should get a free pass on their taxes. Every cent of my earned income is reported to the IRS and I believe every cent of a servers earned income (meaning a combination of the hourly wage and tips) should be reported. Otherwise you're subsidizing their income tax free. I figure my tax dollars already subsidize enough for the general population (not just servers) so Ill do my best to make sure other people share the burden.
8. I tip off the PRE-tax total since the waiter did nothing to earn a tip off the tax. I also tip on the credit card. When you tip on the credit card the restaurant/company keeps track of the tip and reports it to IRS. When you tip cash, it's up to the waiter to report and I don't trust them. All my earned money is reported, I'll make ever effort I can to make sure yours is reported.
9. Guess you can't even throw the challenge flag out on that one can you?  :surrender:
10. I don't have real player and not sure how to download from YouTube. Could someone put some instructions or send me the file? I'd be eternally grateful.
11. Wow.  "Auto-brewery" in the stomach.  Not sure if this would be super cool, or super annoying.  Making beer in your belly just by eating some pasta.     http://www.foxnews.com/health/2013/09/19/man-brews-beer-in-belly-after-being-diagnosed-with-mystery-infection/
12. I've had this happen to me no matter what post using tapatalk (inconsistently anyways), but copying directly from the address bar to a post on the computer has always worked. Thanks for the media tags. Seems to be working on the phone with them.
13. I'm glad you aren't around me right now because ... and it smells real bad. Haha
14. That's the liberal way. Slow and steady (see the frog analogy from another thread). This is how they've accomplished so many other agendas (i.e. societal acceptance of abortion, homosexuality, etc.). They'll do the same with guns. Change the mind of the children, and as OS said, they'll turn them all in when you and I are dead.
15. Oh I don't disagree at all. From the people I know that got fired, a few did have performance issues, (mostly time and attendance) but I also know of many many others in the situation you describe. It's a sad story all the way around, especially because 1.) there time and attendance policy has gotten so strict over the last few years (an "occurrence" for being 1 minute late?) and 2.) many of the previously good workers who suddenly had issues were some of the longer employed/higher paid people.
16. My understanding is that the layoffs of the past few months were those with poor performance. The ones that began today and will continue through the week are "reduction of force" or "restructuring" layoffs. Those laid off today and tomorrow will be given pay/benefits for 60 days and a pay out for years of service. I believe the poor performance lay offs are complete and this and future layoffs will be bottom line based.
17. True story. Here's a news story on it from Nashville Business Journal. http://m.bizjournals.com/nashville/blog/2013/09/vandy-puts-number-on-layoffs---1033--.html?r=full I work in a hospital not VU affiliated but REALLY close and with a lot of VU docs. Overheard today that more layoffs are coming in the next few days also. Went to the VU caf today and noticed a lot of extra security for the layoffs. There a several schools of thoughts on the issue. 1.) VU runs a budget that includes a lot of administrators whose jobs could easily be combined into 1 position. 2.) The ongoing sequester cut a bunch of research dollars, and thus people are blaming academic center layoffs on that. 3.) Some people in TN think VU is doing it as a power play to force/punish Haslam for his decision NOT to participate in ACA exchanges. 4.) Much the same idea as #2 except for because of the ACA. I used to work for VU for many years, and I'm sure many of these people losing there jobs are valuable employees who have put in there time. With that being said, after working at many other hospitals since my time there, VU does seem to have a lot of people on payroll where other places of similarity don't. I'm also sure the ACA and sequester are contributing to the financial short comings of the medical center also. With all this being said, many other large academic medical centers (Emory, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo) are all facing the same situation so the entire answer likely does not rest in the local healthcare market. (Long winded way to blame ACA).
18. In regards to your point about "just getting it out there" and retracting later ... check out the CNN screen shot below ... if they're selling AR-15 shotguns in VA then I'm packing up tonight and heading to VA to get me one of these AR-15 shotguns.
