  1.     Usually just for brass.  Loaded ammo does not last long enough to seal it.  :)  I tend to process brass about once a year and then seal it up in bags of 250-500 and open them as needed.   I've got about 5-6k of 9/40/45/357 so I'll shoot through it all, clean, bag up, and reload when I need it.
  2. I use a food vacuum sealer.  I usually throw an oxygen eater in the bag and suck some of the air out.
  3. HAHA I bet it's part of their strategy to sound like a bunch of hippies. Little do we know they have crates of AR 15 and hundreds of 1000s of rounds of ammo.
  4. I'm cleaning out my father in laws stuff and I've come across some Dupont and Goex F FF FFF and FFFF.  We have no intentions of getting rid of the guns but there is more powder here than I would ever use.   From what I'm reading and friends are telling me Black Powder won't last like smokeless power will even if stored properly.   The dupont stuff is from the 80s and I don't know how it was stored up until the mid 90s or where it came from.  I'm not sure of the age on the Goex stuff.  It's got a $10-12 price tag on it and still in a metal can.      I know how to identify good and bad smokeless power since I reload pistol and rifle but I just don't know that much about black powder.  The friends who say it won't last are not regular black powder shooters so I'm sure their advise is based on internet advise.
  5. For everyone person that tells me Primer X sucks someone else tells me Primer X is great.   The Nosler manual I have suggests the Rem 7.5 BR for the .224 bullet I'm loading.   I've got some CCI, Winchester, and Tula Small Rifle primers but I wanted to try the Rem for my self to see how they work in my gun.    The Remington may or may not work for me but I won't know until I try it.      On my way back from Knoxville to Chattanooga I took the scenic route and stopped at Benton's and found what I was looking for cheaper that I can order it from anywhere because of the hazmat fee.  $4/100 or $40/1000.
  6. 2-3 times a week. They have every Remington primer except for 7 1/2 BR.
  7. "It's a trap. She's got something on her mind that she wants." She recently bought a smoker that probably cost a grand. I see that one as a win win for for everyone.
  8. I looked through the sticky thread and I didn't find anything recent so I would consider half or more of that thread as possibly stale info.    I've got to make a quick trip in the morning from Chattanooga to Knoxville (south side of town) to do a 2 minute job.   Are there any decent reloading places along the way?  I'm looking for Remington 7 1/2 Bench Rest primers and I've not found any in Chattanooga.  Normally I send one of my guys to plug in a router but I figured I would use this excuse to search for some primers in another city.
  9. If you get an Emergency tag with your ham call on it you have to show your license.
  10. My wife is the same way. One day we went into a LGS and I wandered off to get some reloading supplies. When I walked back up to her she was filling out a form because she saw a Sig she wanted. Heh the only guns she does not like are pink guns. She thinks they just look stupid.
  11. "can't buy a gun while under the "rule" of the wife LOL"   You need a new wife.  :)    I think the last 5 or 6 guns that were added to my safe were guns that my wife bought me or my son as a surprise.
  12.     The problem with TC96 was that the FCC lacked the authority and balls to enforce it.   It could have been modified along the way to meet the changes needed but no one has the balls to stand up to deep pocked campaign donors.
  13. When <insert big company here> mines your data is an evil company with evil intentions.  When <insert government agency> mines your data it's outrageous.   When Google mines your data it's a great thing!       Yea, an outstanding company.   I guess some people will trade their 2nd Amendment views for some cheap internet.   https://www.nraila.org/articles/20120629/google-adopts-anti-gun-policy
  14. I'm amazed at how quickly people gulp down the Google Kool Aide.   They are no different than AT&T Comcast etc.  They don't think twice about mining massive amounts of personal data from their users.  Google Fiber isn't about getting you fast internet because they are trying to do it for the greater good.  They are doing it because they want a faster connection to their end users so they can collect more user data to sever you even more advertising.
  15. Uniden 436HP (Handheld) or 536HP (Base) will monitor anything that can be monitored in Tennessee.  If you want to monitor Tennessee Advanced Communications Network get either of these scanners.  It's super easy to use, just plunk in the zip code where you are and choose what types of agencies you want to monitor.    I can listen to THP in the Chattanooga district almost all the way into Nashville when I have to go to the Nashville datacenter.
  16. I once got bit by the decapping die on one of my presses.   I didn't draw blood but I was also able to figure out I might need to stop before continuing.   There has to be more to this story.
  17. I found a can of W231 in my father in law's stuff after he passed a way. He didn't reload his best friend did and that's likely where it came from. It's got a price tag of $8.95. I've loaded a hundred rounds of 9mm and 100 .40 and it shoots fine. It smelled and looked just like the plastic bottle w231 I bought last year.
  18. My wife started shooting when she was 5-6 years old.   When I was growing up I shot a little .22 at summer camp and that was it.  It wasn't until I was around 20-21 that I started buying guns and shooting on my own so she has been shooting much longer than I have.
  19. I'm looking at my 9th edition Hornady Reloading Manual and I'm trying to figure out the correct COL for 9mm 115g XTP bullets.   The manual list a COL of 1.075" for this bullet.  Is that measurement from the back of the case to the ogive or to the nose of the bullet?   I've looked all over the place online for the best way to accurately measure to the ogive but everything I find online is more concerned about measuring the ogive for rifle but not pistol.
  20.   I fail to see the similarity here.   We're talking about a temporary problem that's come up because the OP choose to break the law and put other innocent parties at risk.   There just isn't any excuse what so ever for driving intoxicated.      BTW don't take my last statement as being against drinking as I do consume adult beverages but I never put my self in a situation where I would drive while impaired.
  21. If this is a side effect of getting a DUI then I really don't have a problem with that.   Getting a DUI is completely irresponsible and absolutely 100% avoidable.
  22.   Friends don't let friends use the word Shotty.  . We all know "that guy" who is always the know it all on every subject and want's you to believe that he lives the most perfect life.   I know two of those guys and they like to use words like Shotty for shotguns and Lappy for Laptops, etc.
  23. Right now it's what ever power you can find.   I like Winchester 231 but I've not seen 231 for sell anywhere in a long long time.    I'm hoping that I'll find some more 231 before I run out of my current stock of 231.
  24. If a deserter is worth $5 Billion how many Trillions are genuine POWs worth?
  25. When I saw her my first thought was Don't trust her! She is a Cylon.
