I thought SPAS but figured 870 was more widely known among everyone.

Looking for someone to work on a Ruger 22/45

"get the mainspring assembly back in without full use of every available curse word you can do this" I've wished many bad things on Bill Ruger and his decedents for this terrible design.... -
Gunsmiths Around Chattanooga
battleop replied to Superposed's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
There is a place called ACRW just across the state line. They threaded a barrel and installed a muzzle break for a friend of mine. I've never been there or know anything about them but my buddy is happy with the work they did. They are located at the 1st exit on 75 in Georgia (The Cabela's / Costco exit) and then take a left and they are located just before you get to US 41. 4884 Cloud Springs Rd Ringgold, GA 30736 (706) 891-6603 -
When I took the class in 98 and then again in 2009 (after moving back into TN) it was 48 rounds. In both classes they just said to shoot two eyes in your target. I guess at sometime someone realized that 48 rounds was stupid and and added two shots to one of the distances.

Pending Gun EO Chatter, Update See Post #114
battleop replied to runco's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Your link is not complete.... http://www.nfatca.org/pubs/ag_order_3608-2016.pdf Edit: Looks like if I copy and paste the link (and ad the f at the end of .pdf) it works fine. If I post the corrected link I get a 404 as well. I guess the forum software is doing something to manipulate the link when you click on it. -
I guess I picked the right wife. I don't have to justify anything as long as we can afford it. Same goes for her though we check with each other before we spend more than a few hundred bucks.

I own at least one gun per caliber on the list except for the 270 Win.

How is even legal? Maybe it's legal in unlicensed spectrum but I can't see how it's legal to use on the spectrum GPS operates. If cell phone jammers (even low power) are illegal this has to be illegal too.

Reloading Question- 'Unsupported Chamber' in 40 S&W?
battleop replied to superduty's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I think somewhere around the late 90s Glock made a change to the barrel design that eliminated the the Glock smile. I have a 3rd Gen 22 that does not create Glock smiles. -
This is why my son is in private school. Two years ago he went on a field trip and at the end all of the kids went to the gift shop to buy over priced junk. He bought a pocket knife and then just about every other little boy in the class bought one too. What did the teachers about this? They make them keep them in their pockets until they got home.

I think politeness was traded for political correctness.

I've owned a lot of Scary Black Simi Auto Handguns and Revolvers but I've never bought a 1911. There are so many that range in price that other than going on price I'm not sure what's good and what's not. Sportsman has a couple of Remington 1911s on sale right now and I'm thinking about picking one up. I just don't really know what to look for in a 1911. The one I'm looking at is the R1 Enhanced target pistol. Does anyone have any experience with one? Are they decent guns? I'm not looking for a self defense pistol (I'll leave that task to one of my Glocks) though I might carry it from time to time. I'm looking for a decent accurate plinker that I can shoot lead out of. I load my own ammo so this gun will probably never see factory or max pressure loads.

If you are Cathloic plan to set a side an hour or two to confess all this swear words.

Football practice was canceled this evening so it took off the CRC and ran through those 300 and another batch of 300 I had loaded earlier. I didn't take my chrono so I don't know if there was much of an FPS difference but there was no difference in recoil. I could not really see a difference in grouping either. The only thing that maybe a little different is about half my brass landed on the counter in the same general area and the other half was on the ground about missing the counter by a foot or so. Probably not far enough to mean anything.

If trump gets it he is either going to be the best thing since George Washinton or he will make Carter and Obama look like the best thing that ever happened to this country. He won't be anywhere in the middle.

I'm real bad about not knowing who half of these people are when they come out and try and preach to us. My wife on the other hand almost always has at a minimum heard their name before. This was on GMA this morning and neither of us had a clue who she was.

I'm shooting it through a Glock 17 and 34 so I think ill be ok.

I don't ever recall buying Small Pistol Magnum primers so I wasn't looking for that. I've got a system for powder that I'll just adapt for primers. I've got a small ledge on my reloading bench and there is a sticker that says "Current Powder". When I put powder in the hopper the powder goes on that ledge and a card goes in the hopper with the powder's name as well. All other powders are on a shelf on the opposite side of the room so I don't end up with the wrong powder on the bench. When I'm done with a session I recheck my recipe against what's on the bench (that's how I found this) to make sure the components on the bench match up. I don't throw away primer trays until I'm completely finished. Once I'm done I through them in a bucket that I dump in the trash at work. I won't dump anything gun related in the trash at home. Some criminals are smart so why give them any clues.

I loaded a batch of 300 9mm Hornady 115g HAP using 5.4g of Power Pistol. As I'm cleaning up I see I've got two empty packs of 100 Winchester Small Pistol Primers and one empty pack of 100 Winchester Small Pistol Primers for Magnum loads. I have no real way to figure out which ones are which without pulling every bullet. The Hornady manual lists 6.4g of Power Pistol as the max load so I'm a good ways from the max. This is just plinking/practice ammo so should I shoot them or pull them?

What do you use as a test gun for ammo ?
battleop replied to tercel89's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I usually load for a specific gun even for Pistol. Mostly Glock 17/22/30/34 Beretta 92fs Colt Python Anaconda.
