  1. I kept expecting the first park ranger to say "Like, Oh My God. You know it's like reallllly smokey out there or something."
  2. $20/brick for the plinking stuff is about where I'll start buying it again. Before this mess happened I already had a good reserve built up but I've not been shooting 22 at the rate I was before this stuff go crazy. I want to get back to where I can buy it a case at a time at a reasonable price. I just hate having a bunch of miss matched brands that make it a pain in the ass to stack.
  3. I'm surprised they don't require a chamber flag of some sorts. That way the can verify it's empty without having to pick it up and scaring the libatards.
  4. It's plentiful but still at gouging prices.
  5. Rememebr that 22LR is just a gateway caliber. It stars with BBs then 22 and then the next their you know they are hooked on 556.
  6. No, they tried to get the law changed but were unsuccessful. They put the metal detectors in use on December 16, 2016. We were there in the the parks when they were put into service. We left the Magic Kingdom late on the 15th and they were there the morning of the 16th. I believe it also happened at Universal and other parks around the country at the same time. On my 2009, 2011, and 2015 visits all bags were inspected going into the parks. On the 2015 trip I was pulled out of line 3 times (MK, Epcot, HS) and was asked to walk through the metal detector. I did notice that each time I was pulled I was wearing something with an Alabama logo so I figured I was being targeted by Florida or Florida State fans. I've seen a lot of people talk about how it's illegal to carry a gun in to a Disney park pointing at several recent arrests. This is just not true. There is no law that says you can't carry on Disney property but Disney can also refuse to allow access to the parks. All of the recent arrests that have been made were because the one carrying the gun was breaking Florida law and would have gone to jail if they were at Disney or at Wal-Mart. The most Disney can do is tell you to leave and if you refuse they will hit you with some type of trespassing/disorderly conduct and ban you from the parks. As far as I know you can carry any place else in the parks and you just have to follow Florida law.
  7. Some language may not be safe for work but this is the best video on the topic. This guy flys with a gun to keep his gear secure.
  8. Just an update. I got the MGW tool from Midway on Monday (it got here a day early) so I went to the range and had my 17 and 34 dead on in about 10 minutes each. I'm really happy with the build quality and ease of use. I didn't take any 45 with me on that trip so I didn't get a chance to site it in but I don't expect any trouble with it.
  9. I guess my question is where in the supply chain was it jacked up? Was it at the manufacturer, the distributor, or retailer? Maybe it will now work it's way back down to sub $25/brick. If we go back to where we were at $15 bricks we won't get below $18-19 bricks because of inflation.
  10. Thanks I'll look that one up.
  11. I thought about the hammer and punch method but I don't think I'll be able to get the small increments of adjustment I want.
  12. After weeks of trips to the range and scratching my head thinking WTF? I've come to the conclusion that three of my Glocks (17/34/30) sights are off. The all three shoot to the left about 1-2" @ 15 yards very constantly. I thought it was me until I took a Glock 22 with factory sights to the range along with 2 other pistols (Beretta 92fs, Desert Eagle Baby 9, and a Smith who's model I can't ever remember) and all of these pistols are pretty much dead on. What's different about these 3 Glocks is that they all came with Trijicon sights that I'm assuming were installed by the dealer and not Glock. They all came from the same dealer and were all bought over a 3 month period. So I'm looking for a rear sight tool for a Glock but I don't know enough about the different ones available to know which is the better one to buy. I just don't want to buy something that's junk so I'm not looking at just price. Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent Glock rear sight tool?
  13. I went to the range on Friday and shot some of each batch. I had kept the ones that didn't gauge separate and they all ran in the gun (Glock 34/Glock 17) without issues. Before I went I loaded up 100 Berry 124g Round Nose and 100 Xtreme 115g Round nose. Other than making some minor adjustments to the seating die (and not the crimp) I didn't change much. I gauged these rounds and not a single one failed to gauge correctly. So it goes back to something with the Ranier 115g HP and Berry 115g RN. I'm going to run another batch of the Raniers and Berrys this weekend and see what adjustments can be made to make it go away.
  14. I'm going to run some more test rounds this weekend. I'm gong to swap the Dillon crimp die out for my Lee crimp die and see what happens.
  15. What doesn't make sense is why are my issues constant with the Berry's and Rainer but not the Hornady? All of the issues suggested should remain constant across all three brands.
  16. So I'm trying to decide on my practice rounds by loading up 100 Berry's 9mm 115g Round Nose, 100 Rainier 9mm 115g HP, and 100 Hornady 115g HAP. On the Berry and Rainer about 10-15 of the rounds don't fit my case gauges (a Dillon and Layman). They go in all the way except about the thickness of "rim" of the case. Now when I ran the Hornady's everyone slides in and out easy with no issues. The ones that don't fit the case gages seem to chamber just fine in my Glock 17 and Glock 34. I'm loading with a Dillon 650 using a Dillon decaping and crimp dies and a Lee seating die. The only adjustment in the press is the Lee seating die to get the depth correct. When I check them with a caliper I can't pin point the issue because nothing looks out of place. Any idea what's causing this? If the Hornady's are coming out perfect and the others are not is this an inconsistency in the bullets?
  17. Sportsmans Warehouse had some last week in 1# and 8# jugs. I'm pretty sure I saw some 1# 231 at Cabela's last weekend.
  18. I bet someone watched Judge Dredd and came up with this brilliant idea.
  19. There is one in Birmingham that we pass on the way to football games in Tuscaloosa the last year or two. Every time we're on the way to the game I say we need to stop on the way back and my wife agrees. By the time we pass it going back north I'm either too worn out to stop or I don't realize I've missed it until were past the exit.
  20. No, just cheap plinking stuff.
  21. I've not been over that way in years but it is a pretty good hold in the wall place with a good burger.
  22. I think it's a good idea to have a combination of both. I would't not buy a lot of long term food at one time instead I would maybe buy $100/year of 25 year+ food for a few years and then continue to do what you are doing. The buying of canned food in the way you are buying is more of a short term plan that depends on the ability to be able to replenish your supply. Where the long term food comes in is when you get in a situation where you can't resupply. If you buy a little here and there you spread the expiration date out over time and it's a little easier to spread the expense over time.
  23. I remember seeing $15-20 500rnd Bricks not to long before all of this crap started. I've yet to see anything less than $30-35 for a brick of plinking 22lr since.
  24. 22lr is readily available just about everywhere but it's stiop priced at twice what it was before this mess happened. It's still$30-50 per 500. It's over when you see bricks at $15-20 but some how I don't think that's going to ever happen because the supply chain is going to take advantage of being able to blame the Democrats for their new found profits.
  25. Question: On what do you base your opinion? Answer: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
