  1. Bloomberg is a yankee RINO with delusions of grandeur in regard to his authority as a political figure. 'nuff said.
  2. Bring back chain gangs, the black & white striped jumpsuits, and hard labor confinement. I see lots of trash on the side of I-26 that needs picking up. I also know where there are some big rocks that could be made into smaller ones to provide gravel to use while performing the endless road construction in this state. (= As for capital punishment... the system just needs a lot of streamlining. Justice should be swift and definitive. Not bogged down by bureaucratic bull**** and feel-good politics.
  3. I use a Marlin 60 I inherited from my grandmother. It's older than I am, but still makes for a fun time.
  4. I'd put this in the trading forum, but I'm not looking to pick one up right away, so I'm posting here. I'm looking to see what price people are asking for a used 3rd gen Glock 19. My fiance wants one for her birthday, and I'm looking to see what it would cost me to get one for her.
  5. Me thinks someone's lawyer called the silly journalists at the Tennessean and told them to expect a lawsuit or six tomorrow morning if they didn't hurry up and take down the database.
  6. The ruling that struck down the DC Gun Ban as unconstitutional. DC Court of Appeals refused to hear the appeal, so now DC can either appeal to the US Supreme Court, which could be good or bad, or let it rest and allow the citizens of DC to lawfully possess firearms again. If the Supreme Court hears it, pray that they rule in favor of Parker and company, which will establish nationwide that the second amendment grants an individual right, rather than a right of the states.
  7. Sensational journalism at it's finest. Did anyone else find that every single person on the list was listed twice? I found my father and I, and both of us are listed twice. Just about every other name I looked for came up that way. I also couldn't do a last name search in Firefox, probably because they wanted me to see just how many evil people have carry permits in Tennessee.
  8. Don't forget Taco Bell for those with brave stomachs.
  9. I'd like to see an area for online retailers (xdgear.com, glockgear.com, etc), so people can post their experiences with those merchants as well. We've got FFLs, but not the online accessory merchants like cheaperthandirt or midway.
  10. Like how Tennessee is going to crush the Commodores this fall? (= ETSU has the same backasswards policy on firearms, with a couple differences. Students can leave their weapons in their cars if they commute to class, or check them into the campus police's evidence vault for the time we're on campus. It takes about 15 minutes to check the gun in or get your gun back, not that they're very happy about having to provide the service of storing our legally owned and carried weapons. The same applies to dorm students. I have a handicap placard for my car left over from knee surgeries a few years ago, so I can park right next to the building I have class in, but I still don't like leaving my weapon in my car. The other option, is to join the marksmanship club on campus, and then, after filling out lots of paperwork, you can leave your weapons at the campus rifle range under our basketball stadium to shoot on campus, and just bring ammo when you want to shoot. Unfortunately, the range hours aren't posted, and I don't know much about the club itself. I also don't trust very many people to store my guns for me if I'm going to be gone for a long time.
  11. Walking with a shotgun down your pants like is harder than people think. Not to mention, it's a pain in the ass to get one out of your pants. Dress codes don't do a thing for weapons violations. The kids just get more creative in hiding them. As for the NAA Mini-Revolvers I saw, I've got one, and I can hide it in my sock without any trouble.
  12. Just look at a certain former mayor of NYC who's trying to get elected to higher office if you need to see a gun grabbing republican... And the current mayor of NYC if you wish to see another gun grabbing republican with delusions of grandeur.
  13. To see if that really is the problem, which I think is pretty common: If possible, borrow a laser sight from a friend and bore-sight it to your weapon, then dry fire it with the laser on to see if the muscles you contract as you squeeze the trigger are also causing you to shift the weapon to the left, since the laser dot will provide a visual reference for any movement of the weapon. To fix it: Nary a clue.
  14. They could only accomplish this sort of socialist left-wing garbage pipe dream with a 100% left-wing/socialist composition to the Supreme Court, and somehow managing to get the Bill of Rights completely thrown out the window. I also have a feeling, that if the federal government tried that sort of crap, a lot of states would secede, just like the last time the federal government tried to take too much control over something that was properly a state level issue.
  15. No... but you might use it to shoot a couple thousand zombies.
  16. Wolf steel case ammo isn't that accurate either, which is the other reason I use brass case now. 2-3" tighter grouping isn't a big deal to me on paper, but when you're trying to get one shot kills on ground hogs or moving coyotes at 100-300 yards with a 16" barrel... I'll take every bit of edge I can get.

    Which AK?

The WASR's are nice, just find a dealer with several in stock and handle them all, and pick the best one. Jiggle the mags and check the sights. I've seen a WASR jam exactly once in my life... it had somewhere between 2500 and 3000 rounds through it at the time, and the jam was a stove pipe from a bad primer we've decided. Funny sounding pop and a stove pipe. So we'll chalk that up to a bad round. That gun has about 6000 rounds through it now, as of the last time I talked to the guy who has it, and he said he hasn't had any additional problems, even though he wants to know how long it will go without maintenance, and has never cleaned or oiled it since the day he bought it.
  18. The steel casings are hard on the AR-15's extractor. The gumming happens if you shoot a lot and don't clean the bolt face up after each session. I've got a few hundred rounds of Wolf lying around that I'll shoot up eventually, or save for SHTF scenarios. Otherwise, I'm getting some brass cased stuff from Wideners when they get it in. 200 round battle-packs of 2007 production surplus M193 for $55 in brass cases is something I can live with, even if it is imported. Until I had to start cleaning my AR-15 more I never believed the saying about leaving steel cased ammo for the ComBloc weapons... Now I do. When I get an AK-47, it will have a mountain of cheap Wolf ammo to digest, my AR is getting the pricier brass cased stuff from now on.
  19. Wolf Black Box 55gr FMJ 20 round box - 500 rounds, online order. Wideners: $3.60 per box Cheaper Than Dirt - $4.72 per box Cabelas - $4.30 per box after subtracting "free" ammo can. MidwayUSA - $3.99 per box Widener's has some kind of crazy deal to purchase direct from Wolf I think, because they're the cheapest I've ever seen for the stuff.
  20. I should be able to make it to a Tri-Cities meet
  21. Illinois courts won't overturn this. SCOTUS will have to be the ones to overturn it. Illinois courts are all in the collective pocket of the gangsters who run Chicago and the rest of the corrupt state. How else would you get a state where only the board of Mayor and Aldermen for the city of Chicago are allowed to carry a concealed handgun?
  22. http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a67/the-reservoirdog/PLR-16/?action=view&current=Keltecbeta1.flv This is amusing. Now if I only had the extra $900 lying around to get a decent .223 suppressor.
  23. First mistake, living in Illinois. Second mistake, letting the cop inside without a warrant. Third mistake, not calling your lawyer when the cop entered the home. Fourth mistake, not voting with your feet and leaving what is probably the 2nd or 3rd most socialist state in the union for a free state. All jokes aside, the insane firearms laws in Illinois are why I turned down a job there 2 years ago.

    Plinker?

I was under the impression that the Trailside was no longer in production. I see them occasionally on Gunbroker and AuctionArms, but I haven't seen one in a shop in a long time. Everyone who has one won't part with them for some reason. Are they that nice?
  25. Honestly... I can't think of any .22LR pistols that have a magazine larger than 10 rounds. I like the Sig Mosquito though... Could always see if someone's got one you could borrow to let her try a box through.
