I started to not say anything assuming you'd already tried it but just in case you haven't. Did you flip the rear mount the opposite way with the bases close to eachother and see if that helped? I've seen some people mount them that way and I guess it's for this reason on whatever scope they were using.

Mine too, but sloooooowly! HA HA I've never put on in an suv but I did put a 6 pointer on top of my Explorer and drove all the way through downtown Nashville with it to the processors. Got some thumbs up and some....well, you get the picture. BUT, you couldn't wipe the grin off my face!
