  1. Definitely no harm done, learned and laughed together....then Dad cleaned it up while the girls shopped.:) Wouldn't trade it for anything. Glad to share it for a good laugh. I did have to run about 6 3 minute cycles, then stop to vacuum afterm eachieve one. Finally it was good enough to run a short cycle all the way through. Shop Vac is on the back porch drying out, just finished mowing the grass, getting a drink before I get the ol Shindaiwa out and attack some weeds with a vicious force
  2. If we had TGO back then, I'd gladly have loaned you mine brother! I bought this thing from TSC last year and it's the first time I've owned one. Used it in the garage quite a few times, also as a blower (awesome feature!), and now for bubble blowout 2015. Can't believe I'd never owned one before! Worth their weight in gold. I knew better than to get a little one, I got the biggest one they had.
  3. I wanted to take pics but was trying to hurry. Thank goodness it only ran 10 minutes and only covered 1/3 of the kitchen floor. The bubbles completely filled the dishwasher obviously. I'd just gotten home from taking the trash to the dump and needless to say the wife was ready for me to fix it haha. Our daughter was upset over it, but we explained that MANY adults have done it too, and at least she got that one time she'll never forget over with while 10 years old. This is the first dishwasher we've owned since she was born, always washed in the sink. So not like she could have known the procedure after seeing it for a month. Shes okay now, and loved using the Shop Vac to suck up bubbles, then got bored and left with Momma to go shopping lmao.
  4. My daughter was trying to help out this morning, God love her for that. Loaded the dishwasher, first time she's used one, and REALLY wanted the dishes clean! Lemme tell ya, Dawn 2x concentrated will do it, especially when BOTH trays are filled with it!
  5. Same here, youtube has saved me a lot of mistakes and money on guns, trucks, and home repairs!   I like the idea of putting rails on, but honestly I have a hard time putting ANY on. I'd like one on bottom of front end in case anyone else that shoots it may want to use a bipod, and one on the left side for flashlight, but I still don't like them being on there.
  6. Thanks, that's good to hear. Nope, no spacers needed on mine. I really figured I'd be the one guy out of 50 that needed the spacers haha!   Edit to add: So funny about the barrel nut mention. I'd watched SO MANY videos on how to build an upper over the past year I can't even keep count. So when I put the barrel nut on, torqued it down and slid the gas block on there was no notch or hole in the barrel nut for the gas tube to go through like in all the videos. I sat there staring at the barrel nut like I'd forgotten or lost a part! It's hilarious now but not when I was trying to figure out why it looked strange    I'd like to try out one of ALG's rails also. http://algdefense.com/rails.html
  7. I really like the feel, and seems rock solid. I'd like to try the keymod as well. Did you torque exactly at 35 ft lbs or did you go a little more? I almost went a little more just because but stopped and called it good. One thing I didn't do and remembered afterwards was, tightening, then loosen 2 times before final torque down. Should I redo that?
  8. I appreciate it. Probably won't be my last time using one of these handguards.
  9. Welcome to TGO!
  10. Nice, congrats!!
  11. Thanks hipower!
  12. So I've been really itching to complete an upper instead of buying one already built. I finally got a chance to do it once I got all the parts and tools. I'm very happy to have finally done it, but I learned one thing for sure "I HATE ROLL PINS!". Well, the one for the gas tube anyway! I think the next one will be easier after some reading and talking to friends (Thanks LukeE) about tips. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Spikes Punisher lower PSA upper receiver w/Punisher ejection port cover PSA lower build kit BCM Large charging handle (I love it, have several mediums and wanted to try this size. Not as "in the way" as I thought it might be) Anderson Arms 16" 5.56 M4 barrel UTG Pro slim 15" handguard (This thing is well made for a $100 handguard!) Troy Battlesights Birdcage flash hider from spare parts bin Magpul trigger guard, grip, and MOE stock LBE M16 bolt carrier group This picture didn't take very well, but was trying to show off the finished upper and handguard because I was so proud to finish it!

    PSA AK

I remember her, but honestly never saw the AK.

    PSA AK

They posted on Facebook today that it would be hit or miss and sold out quickly. Seems they were right, but don't worry about it. After the people who bought them today receive them in two weeks, they'll be all over Gunbroker for $200 more :stir:
  15. I talked to that guy with the hex mags for a while too. Grabbed one of his cards, he has a local warehouse, mainly a website ran company he said. I almost grabbed some of that grip tape too but said those famous words "I'll swing by on the way out" and as usual forgot what and where I meant to go!
  16. I got there at 12:30, left at 5. Around 4 it was nice and cool in there and 1/5th of the crowd as when I got there. Picked up some AR parts I've been needing and chatted with some friends, all in all a good show. Going back tomorrow around noon. Farthest booth back in left corner (not on wall) is a couple out of Joplin MO, Sullivan Gun Works. Great folks, Class 3 dealer, very knowledgeable and has some nice products.
  17. Just out of curiosity, have you used the Otis Bone Tool? If so, how would you compare the performance?
  18. I saw these at Academy, but didn't notice the price.
  19. Thanks! I like his videos, he does a good job. LukeE offered to guide me through my first one, but I appreciate the heads up on the video.
  20. ^^^^ This.   I had planned on doing my Efile last weekend, now it's pushed off to this weekend. With vacation right around the corner, I'm hoping the wife doesn't push it to after we get back. Be nice to come back home to a stamp!
  21. I've read this about the steel case and PTAC a couple times. They said the polished the chamber and feed ramps and everything was GTG. In case you want to try it.
  22. Glad to hear the good news!
  23. I'll be there. Like has been mentioned, they aren't as good lately as the old days, but they still beat the pants off Nashville show! Hopefully see some of y'all there
  24.   Thanks Dolomite, that description actually made it more visible to me. Pretty slick idea!
  25. I'll be assembling a 5.56 barrel on an upper receiver this week for the first time. I've heard a lot of good about Aeroshell, but seems that a lot of forums and videos just use lithium grease or just grease period.   What do you guys favor?
