  1. I got to meet a couple of TGO members today as well. NoBanStan and BigK. Good to put faces to names and enjoyed recalling the highlights of the NRA show this year (Miss CZ and Miss PSA!) Haha.
  2. I didn't want to put mine in my garage either but that's where it ended up. It's anchored to to the concrete, has a large Golden Rod, about 20 large dessiccant packs, and a metal dessiccant container that I can dry out in the oven in 3 hours which I do once per month. I know it's over kill, but as Runco said above, I worry about too much humidity a lot more than I do the upkeep to make sure my weapons stay in good condition. I used Trex board underneath the safe to keep moisture from building up between the concrete and safe bottom.
  3. Congratulations! !
  4.
  5.
  6.   Not to mention the people who want one now but haven't bought one. I keep reminding them (over and over) that the closer we get to the election, the more likely that any day the prices creep or fly the other direction. These things are so cheap now it's craziness. I have more AR's now than I ever would have imagined, but still wouldn't mind having a few of the cheap builds just sitting in the safe or for truck guns. I just started reloading so don't really have the cash to do it, and not to mention deer season is right around the corner. One thing I'm proud of outside of having multiple AR's is that I've bought quite a bit of extra parts for spares should the need ever arise. I didn't want to get caught with my pants down like a lot of people will when things get hairy.
  7. ^^^^^what gregintenn said. 18 sounds good until you start putting things in it. Nice safe if that's all you need.
  8. Nah, let's discuss it later, go ahead and order it :)
  9. Wow, what a story! I can't imagine what your family was thinking while waiting for you to come out at hour 3, 4, and so on, wondering what was taking so long. From a fellow cancer/chemo patient, you'll be in my prayers for a quick recovery and hope you feel good soon. Glad you made it through all that.
  10. I've got 3 or 4 of the QMS triggers in my AR's, but only just installed the ACT in my friends. That's why I ordered one today. We're going to his farm tomorrow to shoot and I'll be able to shoot his. Even the cheaper QMS is much better than milspec, so I'm sure I'll fall in love with the 4.5 lb ACT.
  11. ALG having a big sale also. Just ordered an ACT trigger for $59 bucks shipped. The QMS is $41.   30% off blems 30% off Keymod rails 10% off everything else on site.   http://algdefense.com/
  12. $208 for the SD3G at Primary Arms https://www.primaryarms.com/Geissele_Super_Dynamic_Trigger_3_Gun_Version_AR_15_p/gatsd-3g.htm
  13.   Thank you, I'll email him the links so they can check them out!
  14.   PM Sent Thank you!
  15. I have a friend who's son would like to join a 3-gun or similar club. He really enjoys shooting and is a dang good shot naturally. I believe he is 14? Any suggestions on someone he could talk to about getting started or a local shop he could get the information from? They live in Hendersonville. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I will pass the info on to them.
  16. Very nice, congratulations!
  17. I can't spend that kind of money on a trigger either, but if I made a hundred grand a year, then I probably would. Since I don't, the Geiselle ALG series are right up my alley! I put in an ALG ACT trigger for a friend of mine and the 4.5 lb trigger is very nice. That being said, Geiselle triggers don't go on sale too often so thanks for the heads up!
  18. I'd love to, it's pretty bad and the inside section looks like it would be hard to repair. If it's possible, this is one that I wouldn't mind helping her get fixed correctly. Thanks BG! I looked for one like it today at the gun show but all I saw was Winchester's, no Marlins. It's chambered for S-L-and LR if I remember correctly. Thanks TNWNGR! I'm sure she does too but I'd love to get it fixed where we could use it. Yeah, it didn't seem too good looking at the inside area. I'll try and get some pictures of the cracks and the inside portion and post them up. Thank you and very nice pistol you have there!
  19. I had a good time as usual, I always like this show. I was actually glad it wasn't packed when we got there around 1. Plenty of room to move around and look at everything. Since I'm new to reloading, it was nice walking up to David's table and buy something instead of going "What is all that stuff?" HA HA!   Picked up some 55gr projectiles, powder, and some brass as well. I also picked up a new complete set of fixed Daniel Defense iron sights for $115!!! I also finally got an AR15 gun cleaning mat from Brittany Glaze <insert happy face> for those of you who know who she is. I meant to grab a couple more Pmags, there was a table that had Gen 2 windowed Pmags in several colors for $12.95. Cheap as I've seen them in a long time for the windowed version.   There are several other things I'm sure I needed so I may have to go back tomorrow  :woohoo:
  20. Thank you for finding that!
  21. Thanks guys, I really enjoyed seeing it.       I'm going to clean it up good for her. Unfortunately the stock actually came off last night. The crack separated enough over the years of sitting in her closet and getting moved around that it couldn't hang on. It actually runs down both sides, half the length of the stock and the screw holes in the wood for keeping it together are deteriorated. I wonder if I can even find another stock to put on it.
  22. Not mine but my sister had this passed down from my Pappaw. He passed away in 2001, rest his soul. I've not seen this until tonight because she told me she got one of his .22 rifles. But I had no idea what it was. She brought it over tonight so I could check it out and man was I surprised! The stock has a crack in it and is loose, and it needs a good cleaning, but it works and the little scope is still pretty clear considering the age. Well, I hope y'all enjoy the pictures as much as I did messing with it tonight.
  23. <twisting arm> GIT YOUR REAR END TO THE SHOW!
  24. Just heard he shot himself. Figured he would. Hope he rots in Hell!
  25. What?? I wish I had known! Haha I want to, but I'm going to stick with very basics now until I get comfortable with standard reloading processes before I start tuning. I still have tools left to buy for what I'll be doing over the next year or so. It's so exciting listening to each completed round dropping into the bucket!!
