I started to say something on your last post when I saw 999!! Congrats!

I was talking to someone about ammo, or lack of, and this popped out of my mouth. We all know there are new gun owners, hoarders, resellers, regulars buying, so that is a lot of it. Lets use .308 as the example ammo. If Academy stocks 50 boxes (average). They sell say 10 boxes per week, and replenish with say 15 boxes per week which makes up for the occasional rush in which they sell more than their typical 10/week. They keep their shelves stocked that way. BUT, when each and every shipment is swallowed up (now) as soon as it hits the floor, there is no way to keep up. In the previous example I've given, the extra 40 boxes left on the shelves each week are a cushion till the next truck comes in. There is NONE of that now.

I never OC on purpose except when I drop something, pick it up, and my shirt sticks to my belly on the way up :) I have OC carried on those days where it heated up unexpectedly and had to swith to the t-shirt under my long sleeve. I prefer concealment but I am not going to run home to change if it gets hot outside, and I'm not leaving it in the truck either. OC doesn't bother me except a couple of guys I have seen, looked like they were flaunting it like a girl showing off a new boob job lol. Maybe new HCP holders and just excited, I don't know.

I like how they justify it by mentioning a couple of "ok" issues thinkingbthey outweigh the huge blow they are throwing at people who are NOT doing anything wrong. Meanwhile criminals are not worried about any legislation since they obey nothing!

When I took my class we had a lady madder than hell because this little Indian guy not only shot her target but put all of his shots in her target during one round. He never realized he was turned the wrong way. Crazy. She was a really good shot and understandably wanted to see how good she was doing.

I can't count how many times I've heard how easy it is to pass the carry permit class, and there should be more extensive training. I ALWAYS encourage more training before and after the class. But how many times are these outrageous crimes committed by someone who took a HCP class that was too easy that wouldn't have happened had they not flew through a simple class? I don't care how much you've shot or studied the law, you keep doing it...forever. We do it because we don't want to die or go to jail for doing something we weren't supposed to. The fact that the class is easy to pass isn't a contributing factor to crimes. Every time someone asks me for info on getting the carry permit, I tell them, "Don't buy a gun, pass the class, and throw your gun in your truck." Although they have every right to do just that, if and when the time comes they need to use it, that HCP is just a card, it won't tell the person what to do in a situation. My .02
