It’s not bad at all. As far as benefit of running big old flashlights? I guess that would be up to the individual. I hate to trash anything so I want to convert mine as well even if just to use in the garage or backup light to my truck light. I haven’t done it yet but here’s a video with comparison after putting LED in.

Thank you! I guess the tomato dinner was the price of admission for you getting to see them lol. Cool pictures, but hate they got your plants.
-
First time seeing them this year but I think that 8 may be one I let walk last year before his left side fell off. If it is, I'm sure glad I passed on him. I was after a big 8 last year but I don't think he's shown up yet because he was ridiculously tall, just needed more width. As hard as it was passing everything last year, I think it was well worth the agony lol.

Man it was a great week to check cameras! Check it out and hope y'all are getting some good pictures as well. A little over a month and I'll be up in a lock on hoping a velvet monster strolls through. I hung another Millennium m100u this morning and have a Hawk Helium XL stand on the way for the backside of the property.

Thanks! I am always excited on the drive out to check them. Never know what you’re going I see.

This video is a little long (5ish minutes) but I had quite a few things I was very happy to see. The deer are obviously still hitting salt hard but also already eating my throw n grow food plot that I only planted 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty dang excited to see it work since I was hesitant about it working that easy. Also the first fawns of the year appeared on camera. They're not newborns so they've been around just not in front of my cameras. I haven't seen any of the big bucks yet but I'm enjoying everything I see. One thing I haven't seen is many turkey or raccoons. But since I'm not putting out corn like I usually do, that's probably why. Anyway, here it is, enjoy!

This is from last week. I'll check the cameras again tomorrow or Sunday. I'm excited to see how the new Command Ops camera worked. I put it on a trail that splits the property I hunt on. I planted some of that throw n grow food plot on it a couple weeks ago. I'll be able to watch deer on the trail and document food plot growth at the same time.

I didn’t realize the difference either. I’m glad I did get interested in them and started researching.
-
Thanks for the information on that. I don’t need one just yet but when we move I’ll have to remount my safe. It’ll come in handy so I don’t have to borrow one again. And I’m sure on other projects.
-
I’ve never had any hammer drills. I borrowed one when I mounted my safe but haven’t “needed” one since. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to have one down the road just in case though.

A guy that worked at Lowe’s was telling me that Porter Cable has came a long way over the last couple years. He said they were good tools already but had apparently made some changes to keep up with competition.
-
Exactly. I have a Makita with a cord that I use on extreme projects. It is definitely my go to when I’m drilling in very thick steel or long term use.

Yeah the Fuel line had a ton of great reviews so I definitely would have been happy with them if they’d been in stock. I am in need of a pole saw as well and have been researching them. Mainly be used for hunting purposes, clearing shooting lanes, hanging stands, etc. I doubt I’ll ever go to a battery weadeater though. I have two Shindaiwas that are tanks. They have never had even one tank of ethanol gas run through them. Matter of fact I just came in the house from finishing with the T230.

I picked up another camera this week. Academy had their Browning Command Ops cameras marked down from $119 to $89. I have been running Browning Strikeforce HD's for years and love them so I'm sure this will be a good camera as well.

I have been living under a rock apparently. I grew up using tools with a cord and up until about 5 years ago hadn't owned anything else. I bought a 20v DeWalt drill and have nothing but happy with the purchase. A few months ago I started researching impact drivers and impact wrenches as well as comparing different brands through forums and video reviews. I'd never have guessed impact wrenches had come as far as they have, and honestly was skeptical. I narrowed my choices down to DeWalt and Milwaukee as they seemed to be head to head as far as quality and torque. So I picked up a DeWalt 20vMax XR brushless 1/2" impact wrench and a DeWalt 20vMax 1/4" impact driver. They each came with battery/charger as well as carrying cases. Wow, I'm really behind the times, they are both outstanding! I got them both at Lowe's and was able to add 2 years of warranty through Lowe's to extend the 3 year warranty that DeWalt offers. Milwaukee has a 5 year warranty but I couldn't find both in stock anywhere and wanted to buy local in case I had any issues. I'd honestly have been happy with either brand but now all 3 of my tools can interchange batteries. I'm probably the last man on earth that has waited this long but if you haven't tried them, give them a shot.

Lord have mercy that’s a beautiful thing! -
Yes, I have a white salt block in front of my other camera and this one is a Redmond Rock (trophy rock). They have been hitting them hard for several months!
-
Thanks KahrMan. I have only seen one that looked like he was going to be shooter so far. I'm hoping it's the big 8 from last year but not sure. I've seen other people's trail cam pics on Facebook hunting pages and some of those suckers have tons of bone already!
-
I know I'm not the only one watching cameras already. Some people don't even put them out till July or August but I run them year round. What are y'all that have them out been seeing? I'll try to remember to keep posting as I get enough to make a short video. I put together a short one and uploaded it today. I'm trying to learn the editing process and it's not fast for me since I'm not too tech savvy and it takes me a minute. I've honestly been watching tons of YouTube videos to learn. I'm using editing software called Shotcut. I still have a ton left to learn to look fancy like all the people I love following on YouTube, but I'm trying. Anyway, here's the short video of some of this weeks footage.

PS Damn you photobucket for messing up our posts!

Well I used my camera arms last year and will still use them. But I bought a new piece of equipment for this season and man am I in love. I picked up the Muddy Outfitters camera arm. It’s smooth, locks up solid, and is very well made. Hope to get some good footage this year. If you’re in the market give them a shot. https://shop.gomuddy.com/outfitter-camera-arm/

AR buffer tube nut questions?

Good deal! -
Man I bet that made you sick! Can velvet racks be repaired?
-
I can definitely see that being very likely. Hell the whole deer will probably have then in late August, good times haha. I’m more worried about getting the meat and head to the freezer than I am anything. Late September is bad enough, but if the arrow hits anywhere but the right spot it could be a risky recovery.
