  1. Yep, posted this on my Facebook and eerily quiet! No responses.....
  2. Well I hope he comes back! I killed a 7 last year, unexpectedly, hadn't seen anything but yearlings for weeks. Sitting there drinking water and BAM! Here he came. Not a wall hanger, but still enjoying the burger he provided. But yes, mostly nocturnal movement where I was too. Good luck this year!
  3. My friend has aquired a Sig P232 and is looking for a good quality outside the pants holster. Any suggestions?
  4.
  5. Yeah, I forgot about fig newtons, they go good with hunting too. Definitely have to have PB sandwich though. It's like the cheeseburger of the treestand lol
  6. Hey Shaun, I'd seen the Matthews Outdoors page before, didn't realize it was yours. Have you seen that 9 pointer this year,  you had him on your trail cam last year?
  7. Give'm a try next time UncleJak, you'll be hooked
  8. I know some people that hunt and don't bring anything to eat all day. I am NOT one of those people! ha ha I always have water, but for food, I typically bring jerky, cheese crackers, maybe a peanut butter sandwich if I'm going to be out there all day. But, one thing I am never in the woods without is Nutter Butter's!! They go in the bag just like my gloves, don't leave without'm. I used to bring single serving snack sizes but the wrappers are noisy, so I learned quick to buy the big pack and put a couple "doses" into ziploc bags.   What do y'all typically carry in the woods?
  9. LMAO!!
  10. yep, good video and makes sense.
  11. It's nice to have the extra room in a 2 man ladder stand when you're by yourself, which I'll like. But, I mainly wanted it so my daughter, who is 9, can go with me. I know she's not into it enough to stay all day, but if I can take her out to enjoy it for an hour or two at a time, I'm happy. I don't want to push her too hard and make her hate it, so I let her go when she wants and I love every single second of it.
  12. Wow! Now that's awesome, sounds like y'all had a blast! Thanks for sharing.
  13. Good to hear, nice to hear from someone who has one. I looked at that shelf and kinda laughed, thinking "WTH am I gonna do with that" but figured I'd find a use for it once I got it up. I always use extra straps, so not too concerned there as long as the ladder doesn't come loose ha ha.
  14. I found this one night when I couldn't find anything else worth watching. Had no idea what it would be like, but it is entertaining, good action, and yes, she helps!
  15. And thank you as well Wiljo!
  16. Thanks Shawn, I appreciate that!
  17. That's not paranoid, I feel the same way.   Knowing you killed a tender young doe and get someone else's deer, is not ideal. I also agree on the cleanliness aspect. Just knowing how to do it for the time, should it come for whatever reason, appeals to me even more though. I know they don't have it easy with the massive amount of deer coming through there business, but I would still like to know it's my deer. All the more reason to learn to do it myself like you said.
  18. The guy I hunt with does it himself, but it's pretty much all day that he's messing with it since he has no place to store it till he gets back to it. That's pretty much my situation, except I don't really have a place to hang it and cut it up. Another reason I want to get out of town and get into the country with more room. This place is too small. I would love to be able to do it myself and save that processing money, but just knowing how to do it is the most important reason.
  19. Friday after work I almost bought a ladder stand at Academy. It is the Game Winner 17 ft 2 man ladder stand. I passed as I am currently looking for a shotgun also. I went to the show and nothing caught my eye so I didn't come home with one. My buddy called me an hour ago and said that Academy had dropped the price from $119 to $99. So I went and snatched one up. I'll have it up this Saturday and can't wait.  Just thought I'd pass the deal on to anyone in need of one.   It's under the Hot Deals in the ad below. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Container_10151_10051_-1_?name=weekly_ad
  20. Sweet! Very nice gift, I'm sure he'll love it! :usa:

  22. Its sideways too :)
  23. Sorry for y'alls loss, I always picture my Pappaw in his white t-shirts.
  24. Thanks but that would be about the same distance. I will stick with the guys I know if there aren't any closer. Just be nice to gut the deer, run, drop it off, and get back in the woods. Also If I kill one in the morning before I go into work, I don't have time for the drive and traffic. I appreciate it though.
  25. That is very nice!
