  1. One doe so far, just put the meat in the freezer as a matter of fact.  :yum:  And then sat down to enjoy spaghetti made with deer meat from the buck I killed last year.
  2. I was having flashbacks today from last bow season Batman. This morning wasn't "hot" but muggy/sticky, then about noon, it started getting rough. If I'd killed something, it would have made it worth it. But since I didn't, "WHEW!". I'm not gonna complain too much, "A day in the woods is...." comes to mind, so I'll just say that I hope it's cooler in the morning. Since that rain is moving in noonish, maybe it will feel better out there.
  3. Well if you do, good luck out there
  4. It is hot boys. I'm stickin it out though. I think the deer are doing what I would do if I had a brain....stay in the shade! Hoping they move early this afternoon, but may not see anything if they wait till dark.
  5. I've only seen one deer all morning, too far away to make out what it was. And some more turkey far off too.
  6. Hey guys, who all is going out in the morning?!?! I'm pumped up and ready to go  I want to wish each and every one of you good luck. Tomorrow its supposed to be warm but unless I kill in the morning, I'm going to try another all day'r again. Its supposed to rain Sunday but hoping I can still get the a.m. hunt in, maybe the front coming in will have the deer on the move.
  7. Another vote for Savage
  8. Not that I didn't figure that you'd already thought if that, I was sure you did. Just trying to hold out some kind of hope for your deer, since I'm up to 11 hours now of searching for mine and still no luck. Hopefully we'll have better luck tomorrow, you going out in the morning?
  9. They look nasty! Watched a couple of videos on them, nice broadheads.
  10. Were you using a Rage also?
  11. I carried a P90 and an extra mag for years. Now I carry M&P .40 with three 15 round mags and one in the chamber and still feel like I'm short. If I wasn't worried about leaving my AR in the truck overnight, I'd love to have it in there also. I just hate carrying it out everyday with nosey neighbors, yeah it's in a case, but until I get a guitar case like in The Mexican, it looks like a gun case. What's sad, is so many people would be just like the family in the suv, no way to protect themselves, and I'm mad because I only have 46 rounds at all times along with a 100 round box of ammo in the console. I carry this every day in and out of the car, all day long except while inside at work. I guess most are happy to lay down and be a victim, not me.....well and most of y'all on TGO as well.
  12. Been a long time since we've been but I enjoyed Standing Stone also. It is a state park, so should be no problem. http://www.tn.gov/environment/parks/StandingStone/
  13. Are they going to mix some lime in with it or would that be racist?
  14. Seems like they've been really quick to say that for a while now. You let some ole country lookin feller in a 1980 K5 Blazer pull some sh!$ like that and see what happens when the "terroristic threat" info is released.
  15. Do gangbanger parents have to cover their tattoo's when picking up their chil'ern?
  16. Oh no man!!!! That really sucks, especially having the blood trail to follow and then river. She didn't double back where the blood led to the river did she?
  17. Lol well you know better than me it seems, so let me rephrase: "I, Rugerla1, do solemnly swear to not swear that I won't buy new updated versions as they come out." Yep, I'm sure you are correct though.
  18. Proof once again, that bigger is not always better
  19. ^^^THIS!
  20. This is my 3rd year with the Alpine Archery Rebel. I told myself there was no way I was spending more money until I killed a deer with it. Now that I finally did, I will buy a new one. But next year, I'm going to keep going with this one for  the remainder of the year. It's been fun, stressful, hard, and totally worth all it takes to learn what bow hunters go through. That being said, there is nothing like that RUSH!
  21. At first glance, it's hard for me to imagine spending that kind of money on a bow. But now that I know I'm addicted, I just look at it as buying another rifle. I also will not be buying the newest, updated version everytime one comes out, so if I buy the one I really want it will last me for a LONG time! I've already got a jar in my room set aside just for bow money. It will be fun shopping next year.
  22. Just curious, what bow did you pick out for your first. I bought a hand-me-down from my bro-in-law, but next year am going to buy a new one. There are a lot of nice choices out there, just depends on what a man wants to spend.
  23. ^^^^ Nice shot!!!
  24. Yeah, I loved it. I miss the chat dumps, they are all flattened out now. We rode 3 wheelers and dirt bikes on them on the weekends. I get to visit once a year mostly. Wish it was more. I almost fell out when I read your post, mist people don't know where Flat River is....or was lol
